On May 19, 2022, The Economist published an article titled “The Coming Food Catastrophe” that paints a grim future, claiming that the conflict in Ukraine is “tipping a fragile world towards mass hunger.” According to the article, the Russian war is threatening not only the people of Ukraine, but also “a global food system weakened by Covid-19, climate change, and an energy shock.” [1]
They cite UN Secretary General António Guterres, who recently stated that global food shortages could last for years. According to the article, we don’t “grasp” the “gravity of what lies ahead.” The Economist predicted the future food crisis as follows:
“The high cost of staple foods has already raised the number of people who cannot be sure of getting enough to eat by 440 million to 1.6 billion. Nearly 250 million are on the brink of famine. If, as is likely, the war drags on and supplies from Russia and Ukraine are limited, hundreds of millions more people could fall into poverty. Political unrest will spread, children will be stunted and people will starve.” [1]
Please, brothers and sisters, don’t dismiss this as just another doom and gloom forecast from a magazine trying to sell subscriptions. In His mercy, God has given us a forecast of the future, and the coming food crisis is part of the last day scenario.
“When we learn the power of His word, we shall not follow the suggestions of Satan in order to obtain food or to save our lives. Our only questions will be, What is God’s command? and what His promise? Knowing these, we shall obey the one, and trust the other. In the last great conflict of the controversy with Satan those who are loyal to God will see every earthly support cut off. Because they refuse to break His law in obedience to earthly powers, they will be forbidden to buy or sell. It will finally be decreed that they shall be put to death” (Desire of Ages, p. 121).
“Again and again the Lord has instructed that our people are to take their families away from the cities, into the country, where they can raise their own provisions; for in the future the problem of buying and selling will be a very serious one. We should now begin to heed the instruction given us over and over again: Get out of the cities into rural districts, where the houses are not crowded closely together, and where you will be free from the interference of enemies” (Adventist Home, p. 141).
Even now, a religious and political alliance is forming with the goal of transforming our global economy, which includes food systems, supply lines, and buying and selling. This movement is growing in strength with the goal of enacting laws that will radically transform our world. The Covid pandemic, climate crisis, and Russian-Ukrainian conflict are creating social, political, economic, and religious conditions that are similar to the mark of the beast scenario described in Revelation 13. We are currently dealing with an authoritarian government, a terrified populace, and food shortages. This is a recipe for disaster.
In these final days, food will undoubtedly be used as a weapon. Starvation is one method of population control and forcing people to do what you want. This is starvation warfare, which is just as effective as conventional bombs and bullets.
“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark.” Revelation 13:17.

We are living in the times that the prophets of the old testament were writing about. Let us be glad and rejoice in the Lord and trust in Him to deliver us out of all our troubles. And remember do not fear those that can hurt the body and not the soul !!!

So many people are oblivious to what’s going on around them. When people start starving, they will stop at nothing to get food.

Over the years food productivity in Africa has drastically declined due to deliberate application of inappropriate fertilizer which acidifies the soil even as it is already apparent that starvation is at the doorstep
