Delegates to the 61st General Conference Session re-elected Ganoune Diop to continue serving as Director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty on June 7, 2022, during the final business meeting of the day. The nominating committee provided a full list of all the new department heads, which was to be voted on as a group rather than individually. As a result, Ganoune Diop’s name was included in that list. As the names were being read before the vote, the delegates were given the opportunity to express their concerns, ask questions, or even request that the list be rejected.
When sharing their concerns, however, the chairman of the business meeting would not allow the delegates to mention any of the people’s names or the department’s name. That complicates things. How can delegates express their opposition to re-electing Ganoune Diop if you can’t mention his name or the department to which he’s been nominated? This makes vetting a candidate for a position in an office nearly impossible. Why does the leadership make it difficult to express legitimate concerns by imposing rules that prevent you from speaking up?
And because all department heads were being voted on at the same time, you would have to reject the entire list of candidates to prevent Ganoune Diop from being elected. These tactics pretty much guarantee that every name becomes an easy winner because there is no proper vetting. We have all seen how our US Senators are allowed to vet the Supreme Court Justice nominees thoroughly. Yet when Ganoune Diop came up for re-election, you couldn’t even mention his name, let alone his department, when deciding whether or not he should serve.
Despite these obstacles, Jonathan Zirkle of the General Conference was able to object to Ganoune Diop’s nomination. Given the difficulty, this was a truly remarkable task. In the video below, Johnathan Zirkle begins to demonstrate how the Religious Liberty Department has abandoned its original mission and is now writing amicus briefs (letters of support) for George Soros’ left-wing political organizations.
It’s unfortunate that the chair of the business meeting stopped Jonathan from continuing. Ganoune Diop was then re-elected along with all the names for the other department heads in one quick, single action. This was all done by design. In fact, the lack of liberty to have open discussions about any particular nominee was also by design. It’s sad that there is more transparency in our federal government (which doesn’t have very much) than in our church elections.
The fact that Ganoune Diop was re-elected with ease indicates that little will change in the near future. Rome is delighted, not just because Diop was re-elected, but also because we are using their election techniques. During my first two days in St. Louis, I’ve been able to witness a lot, and there’s more to report on, but the re-election of Ganoune Diop and the lack of openness and discourse “takes the cake,” as we say. I guess we can congratulate the business meeting chairperson on Diop’s re-election.

It is very sad that political maneuvers are being implemented by our world church. It shows what spirit is involved at this session. The false revival comes before the true. We are very near to the end when Ezekiel 8 and 9 are soon to be fulfilled. May God’s people search their hearts and make their calling and election sure.

I went to a conference meeting where they elected officer back in the mi 90’s. It was political then. Has been for years. They are just getting more bold about it like the politicians and world leaders. It is a political and religious Great Reset and “All Roads Lead to Rome.”
Ayanda says
Thank you for the report Br Roman. The action taken to do the election this way is disappointing albeit not surprising. Truth has no fear with scrutiny. Therefore if such lengths are being employed to avoid “controversy”, it gives the impression that truth is not being upheld. May the Lord help us individually to stand firm in the faith come what may.
Kevin Cossentine says
We ought not be like the world in it’s corrupt way to vote on some item or person, not should multiple things be all combined whereas just one vote accepts all in the ballot. We are to be a people whereby open discussion and reasonable accommodation is allowed, not to prevent such in order to slide something past us… as those in Congress are so apt to do with nonsensical pork items in a bill.
Samuel Kimani Njoroge says
The current re-election of Ted Wilson and Ganoune Diop is clear indication that none will change the state of complacency will continue and the current crop of leadership will serve as Rome subsidiary.
Philip Goh says
Totally agreed.
LINDA F TAYLOR says
I am so saddened to see this happen. He has no business being in charge of religious liberty in our church. He is in the back pocket of the vatican. For all we know, he could be a Jesuit trained infiltrator! He sure acts like one. God sees all that is going on, and He will punish Diop for what he is doing to God’s remnant church!!!
Philip Goh says
Totally agreed.
Karen says
Thank you Linda. How much closer to the Vatican can Diop get? Prophecy is being fulfilled and the “final movements will be rapid ones. “
Brown Msowoya says
Diop is the Romish weapon to destroy the stronger who will preach the three angels’ message the way it is. We are venturing into the real battle soon. We need to search our hearts faithfully to stand. The battle is real. Jesus is our Rock and we will never be shaken.
Elder Jim Cox, Ret. says
I watched some of the GC business session and became disgusted with a lot of the procedure. The re-election of Ganoune Diop was a farce. I have been in the Church since 1968 and a minister for 50 years. I see the Church as about to fall. In spite of all the faults the message of truth and hope is being carried by faithful lay persons and ministers. It is still God’s Church and it will go through.

God’s church is comprised of those who follow His Spirit, His Laws, and His ways. Either there is coming a terrible sifting out or the majority of those with the SDA name are NOT going to be found in the eternal Kingdom.
Robert Richardson says
How is it, that the accumulated brain power seems to be on the side of the adversary. It almost seems like God is giving the liberal element of our church a free reign, just to see how far they will go in waring against the omnipotent hand of God.
Or is it that the powers at hand, that could bring this charade to an end have been self neutered by the lact of standing for truth.
Ministers should get out of the way and let members have freedom to carry out that which the Holy Spirit indicates—God has given “to every man his work.” Why is it that ministers and Conference officers do not recognize this fact? Why do they not manifest their appreciation of the help that individual members of the church could give? Let church-members awake. Let them take hold and help to stay up the hands of the ministers and the workers, pushing forward the interests of the cause. There must be no measuring of talent by comparison. If a man exercises faith, and walks humbly with his God, he may have little education, he may be accounted a weak man, yet he can fill his appointed place as well as the man who has the finest education. He who yields himself most unreservedly to the influence of the Holy Spirit is best qualified to do acceptable service for the Master. God will inspire men who do not occupy responsible positions to work for Him. If ministers and men in positions of authority will get out of the way, and let the Holy Spirit move upon the minds of the lay brethren, God will direct them what to do for the honor of His name. Let men have freedom to carry out that which the Holy Spirit indicates. Do not put the shackles upon humble men whom God would use. If those who now occupy positions of responsibility had been kept at one class of work year after year, their talents would not have developed, and they would not have been qualified for the positions they hold; and yet they make no special effort to test and develop the talents of those newly come into the faith.—The Review and Herald, July 9, 1895. {PaM 152.3}

Should we be surprised, the GC session must keep with its traditions, they have never voted a GC president outside of the division area that the session is held in and the re-elected GC President is no surprise at all. When he was first elected as one of the vice Presidents back in 1990 when his father was replaced by a new Pastor, I said to myself, soon the son will be the GC President and within 2 sessions what I saw came to pass and I was not surprised. I can also tell you the outcome of the next GC President, if it is held in the NAD and the current GC President is well and able he will be elected again and there will be no break with the tradition in 2025.
It is very sad to read that in the selection officers to serve in the GC it was done as a group and not as on an individual basic as if the people are money. This is a cover to hide or pick out the bad apple by choosing the bunch, becoming less democratic and the powers that be got exactly what they wanted and based on what I have read and seen, we have it all wrong when it comes to RLPA department, the current department leader sees nothing wrong in having friendly terms with the ungodly and is compromised. Question, would Elijah in the name of religious liberty, call a truce between the religion of God and that of Baal, so that both religions could exist side by side freely? Perish the thought, death would be more honourable than to compromise with idolatry and our RLPA has forgotten that the person that they call The Pope (Latin for father) is the high Priest equivalent of Baal and our God disapproves of his appointment as it is nothing for him to shake the hands of the Beast of idolatry and sit at the feet and red Theology to possibly obtain his doctorate degree, something that neither Jesus or the apostles had as an equivalent to be qualified or appointed to this public ministry. Something is not right, yet it is the church of Christ. Let there be a heaven sent revival among the people of God, let Christ have his way in his church in all the earth, let the church go full circle and the leadership of the apostles be fully restored, then all the mistakes and injustices that have and is taking place during the GC Session shall be removed, the clergy and laity divide shall be no more and all revived persons shall be seen as royal ministers and missionaries of Christ before being seen as a loving disciple of the church of Christ and each one will learn to love each other as Jesus loved his disciples and each one shall be as strong as the other, be one Tithe waged or not and no more will officers be chosen according to departments, training or professionalism, but according to the spiritual gifts received personally gifted and sent down from heaven by Christ himself. Only when Jesus has his way in the church, will things change and be the way it ought to be, but when we depend on the might and power of the conference session, technology and theology depending much on machinery and the use of the PA system or the internet and zoom as we have seen during this session, it is not by The Spirit of The Lord, but by the might of the voting majority, which has also been fixed to ensure that certain individuals get re-elected, we do not know what takes place behind closed doors, but no administration can hid from God who sees the situation before it arrives and understand it better than those who operate in their department. May our God take the church out of the hands of the voting majority and by The Spirit accomplish, the divine purpose in all the earth, Amen & Amen.

Aloha from the Island of Maui, SMK! To the scattered Last Generation of the Lord’s Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones —, Jesus said, “I will build My Ecclesia and the gates of hell will never prevail against it!”
There is no such entity as the “Church” of God! Do the research! An etymological study of the terms “ecclesia,” which is the term Jesus and all His followers used; and “Church” which was never used by Jesus or His followers, are not synonymous! Stop weeping for Tammuz! The SDA”Church”/RC”Church,” be a red flag already! The Lord’s scattered Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones, has been scattered throughout the earth, in every walk of life, including the SDAC/RCC, as well as in all other religious organizations. The gathering time for the Lord’s scattered Last Generation-Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones, is happening now! Do not miss it by lamenting a dead “Church!” Let the dead bury the dead, lets go and preach the Good News! Speaking the Truth in Aloha, your friend and brother in Christ, Maka’ala Stone

Would be great if they renamed The department to what it really is:
‘Liberal Eccumenical Relations Department”
Where was Diop when all these people lost their jobs for their Religious Convictions?
Probably In Rome with His Jesuit Buddies.

I beg God frequently to not give up on our SDA church. But I also ask Him to restore her to her first love. Fear and faith in Jesus are on the same continuum. It seems that fear is what our GC is stoking in the effort to take freedom away from its people. They seem to be joining the beast power to bring in the one world government agenda. Soros, Gates, Wilson….. God please help us!

A king and princes was “elected”, but was God involved in the process? (Hos 8:4). Have God accepted the new organisation that EGW warned about? Have God accepted ecumenism, pantheism/ trinity, abortion, idol worship, mandatory vaccination and so on? I doubt it.

I wish the GC Jesuits in St. Louis would cut to the chase and save us all a lot of time. We know they can’t wait to stand at the podium and declare Sunday the Sabbath of God so why not go all in? Maybe before the conclusion on Sabbath they can bring Pope Francis up to address the gathered to hail the great ecumenical work of the SDA GC? How do you give the 3Angels messages when you serve Baal? God grant his truly faithful the strength to complete the work so sorely needed by this dying world.
