The Vatican has released Pope Francis’ message for the 56th World Day of Peace, which is scheduled to take place on January 1, 2023. In his message the pope highlights the need of fostering a global interdependence among the nations. He asserts that in order to advance the “universal values” of the “common good,” we “urgently need” to be connected to one another in solidarity and fraternity. He calls on “peoples and nations” to “restore” the word “together.”
The Pope’s statement was published by the Vatican Press Office and reads in part:
“We can say that the greatest lesson we learned from Covid-19 was the realization that we all need one another. That our greatest and yet most fragile treasure is our shared humanity as brothers and sisters, children of God. And that none of us can be saved alone. Consequently, we urgently need to join together in seeking and promoting the universal values that can guide the growth of this human fraternity.” [1]
“This experience has made us all the more aware of the need for everyone, including peoples and nations, to restore the word ‘together’ to a central place. For it is together, in fraternity and solidarity, that we build peace, ensure justice and emerge from the greatest disasters. Indeed, the most effective responses to the pandemic came from social groups, public and private institutions, and international organizations that put aside their particular interests and joined forces to meet the challenges. Only the peace that comes from a fraternal and disinterested love can help us overcome personal, societal and global crises.” [1]
“Let our hearts be changed by our experience of the crisis, to let God, at this time in history, transform our customary criteria for viewing the world around us. We can no longer think exclusively of carving out space for our personal or national interests; instead, we must think in terms of the common good, recognizing that we belong to a greater community, and opening our minds and hearts to universal human fraternity. We cannot continue to focus simply on preserving ourselves; rather, the time has come for all of us to endeavour to heal our society and our planet, to lay the foundations for a more just and peaceful world, and to commit ourselves seriously to pursuing a good that is truly common.” [1]
This is Pope Francis’ vision for the future of our world: We are either all in this together, putting aside our individual interests, or we won’t be saved. This is the Vatican’s message for the nations. This is the solution being proposed, and Rome is leading the way. This is the heart of the Pope’s encyclical, Fratelli Tutti, which contends that only through our union in a single, global fraternity can we save the world:
“We need to develop the awareness that nowadays we are either all saved together or no one is saved.” (Fratelli Tutti, #137).
The pope is working to create a world-wide brotherhood that he believes will benefit all of humanity. This is how he intends to bring universal peace. The policies of Rome, which the Book of Revelation refers to as the “wine of Babylon,” will serve as the basis for this solidarity. In accordance with prophecy, a coalition of nations will be formed with the full support of the political, financial, religious, and secular authorities, with the papacy, of course, ruling supreme. This is the unholy alliance described in Bible prophecy that will restore tyranny during the Mark of the Beast crisis.
Those who are studying the prophetic Scriptures can see that there will be a brief period of peace just before the end, during which the “great apostasy” will impose its theological errors on the world. But that peace will not last long:
“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 3.
“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 1 Thessalonians 2:1-4.
Can we see what is happening here? Rome is telling the world that its only chance of survival is to return to the unity of the Catholic faith and to once again accept the Pope of Rome as its leader. Surprisingly, the Christian churches, the pagan religions, the Muslims, the secular and political leaders, and the business world are willing to submit to the claims of Rome. In fact, Rome has been preparing for this for centuries. The deadly wound is almost completely healed. Soon she will be in a position to impose her will on the world. When the papacy finally reclaims complete power and world dominance, it will not miss the opportunity to achieve its ultimate goal—a universal Sunday-Sabbath Law.
The good news is that Bible prophecy also portrays the “remnant” (Revelation 12:17), in which the true people of God are to be found, who give allegiance neither to “the beast” nor to “his image,” but rather, by God’s grace, “keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12). If we are truly seeing the final apostasy coalescing before our eyes in the world today, then there must also be a worldwide call for people to “come out” (Revelation 18:4) from all these associations. The world must be directed to God and to His remnant people, who will be watching and waiting for the coming of the Lord.
The final showdown will be between the universal forces of the Antichrist and God’s faithful remnant people. As the stage for the final act of the drama is being set in the great controversy, may our hearts and minds be aroused and awakened. And may we be found among the faithful who will dedicate themselves to helping those who seek God’s message for these last days to hear it.

The work which the church has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity, she will have to do in a terrible crisis, under most discouraging, forbidding, circumstances.
The warnings that worldly conformity has silenced or withheld, must be given under the fiercest opposition from enemies of the faith. And at that time the superficial, conservative class, whose influence has steadily retarded the progress of the work, will renounce the faith, and take their stand with its avowed enemies, toward whom their sympathies have long been tending. These apostates will then manifest the most bitter enmity, doing all in their power to oppress and malign their former brethren, and to excite indignation against them. This day is just before us. The members of the church will individually be tested and proved. They will be placed in circumstances where they will be forced to bear witness for the truth. Many will be called to speak before councils and in courts of justice, perhaps separately and alone. The experience which would have helped them in this emergency they have neglected to obtain, and their souls are burdened with remorse for wasted opportunities and neglected privileges.—Testimonies for the Church 5:463.

The words of Paul “Peace and Security” and the words of John “Do not buy and do not sell” – this refers to the same time, the time of total control over a person.
