Things in 2024 are moving so rapidly, and if you look at the political landscape, you can see the handwriting on the wall. Notice what is happening in the political world. We are witnessing a never-ending cycle of wars and rumors of wars. Every new day of 2024 seems to bring some sort of new escalation in Ukraine, Russia, China, Taiwan, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Iran, Syria, or the United States.
However, the escalation goes beyond mere threats of war. There are missiles flying everywhere as we speak. The US recently launched missiles against the Houthi rebels in Yemen for the third time. [1] This countermeasure was only implemented in response to over 100 attacks on American military bases across the Middle East since October 2023. [2] As if that weren’t enough, Taiwan just had an election that might determine whether or not China and the US will go to war. [3] Add to this the US involvement in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. What does it all mean? It implies that we are essentially at war with the world.
Unfortunately, the truth is that World War III is already here, and soon global events will spiral completely out of control. Never once did Jesus promise that just prior to His second coming, there would be peace on Earth. The exact opposite would be true.
“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars.” Matthew 24:6
“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” Matthew 24:7.
“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.” Matthew 24:10.
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:12.
“The perversity and cruelty of men will reach such a height that God will reveal Himself in His majesty. Very soon the wickedness of the world will have reached its limit and, as in the days of Noah, God will pour out His judgments” (The Upward Look, 334).
“In the days of Noah the overwhelming majority was opposed to the truth, and enamored with a tissue of falsehoods. The land was filled with violence. War, crime, murder, was the order of the day. Just so will it be before Christ’s second coming” (Bible Commentary, Vol. 1 p. 1090).
This is a perfect description of our generation. These acts of war and threats of violence will only continue to increase as we get nearer to the second coming of Christ. There will never be an end to the conflicts we are seeing today, not until Jesus Christ returns to establish His kingdom of perfect justice and righteousness.
“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:7.

The 2024 , will be a defining moment , we are living in a very dangerous period in world history much worse than the cold war. Even many political and military strategists are predicting war will take place across many countries across the globe. It’s the same year many countries will be going to the ballot box about half of the world population will participate in the democratic process. On the new eve of the new year, Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated in his new year message that Taiwan must be reunified with the mainland China and this process is inevitable. In response to President Xi’s new year message, Taiwan’s President Tsai weng said that his country will not succumb to the Chinese threats and will continue to pursue with it’s democratic path towards prosperity and peace . On 13 th , January 2024 , Taiwanese electorate went to Presidential and parliamentary polls to elect new leadership. For a long period of time China has regarded Taiwan as its renegade province since the Chinese communist party under chairman Mao Tse Tung defeated the Kuomintang nationalist forces led by Chiang Kai Shek after the civil war which took place in the mainland China between 1945 -1949. On that year 1st , October 1949 , China became a Republic and it became officially Known as People’s Republic of China. Chiang Kai Shek left mainland China and fled to Taiwan with 2 million people and went to establish a rival goverment in Taiwan and sought support from the United States. Mao Tse Tung in the following year 1950, wanted to invade Taiwan, but unfortunately his dream did not succeed according to the plan because of the war in the Korean Peninsula. United States deployed the seventh fleet in Taiwan to defend the island from the chinese invasion. But this year , China has made it clear that Taiwan must be reunified with the mainland regardless of the presidential poll outcome which saw anti- China leader, William Lai Ching Te winning the Presidential poll with 40% of the vote .Other presidential contenders were Hou Yu Yi of the Kuomintang and Ko Won Je of Taiwan Peoples Party . Beijing has for a very long time labelled Democratic Progessive party as a separatist and Taiwanese people should not vote for separatist candidate William Lai who is Pro -American leader. China has said this elections wil define whether the cross Taiwan strait relations will have peace or war. The DPP has violated the 1992 consesus with Beijing of recognizing The one China principle and two governing party systems and instead advocating for independence . China has said that it will crush the pro independence supporters by launching a forceful military response if necessary . The South China sea will likely become another world hot spot in this year. The middle East tensions are escalating every day Zionist Israeli regime is pounding Gaza and this resulted to 25,000 deaths. The South African Government has sued Israeli government for killing innocent palestinians indiscriminately and displacing 2 million palestinians. Yemeni Houthis are attacking foreign ships passing through Red sea and restricting any ship that is travelling to Israel. The U.S government has formed a navy task force to counter the Houthi threat and on 12th January this year , U.S and U.K launched airstrikes targeting Houthi targets. The Houthi movement has vowed to retaliate back with proportionate force. The Hezbollah are engaging with IDF in fire exchange in the border between lebanon and Israel. The war clouds are hanging across the middle east . The movements of Hamas, Houthi , Hezbollah receive funds military support from Iran. The Ukraine war is in its final stages , President Putin has won this war and NATO are desperate on how to respond against the might of the Russian army . NATO has spend billions of dollars by providing Kyiv with ammunitions but this has not changed the course of war . Ukraine has suffered enormous damage it has lost 500,000 men in war airports and ports have been destroyed the Ukrainian Airforce is no more. Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky is desparately asking assistance from U.S and NATO allies but unfortunately they don’t have sufficient armoury and funds. On the western hemisphere , South America,Venezuela is threatening to invade Guyana and take by force Essquibo province and annex it arguing it was taken away from them by the British in 1899. In response U.K sent its naval forces in Guyana to show up solidarity with its former colony and sent its largest warship . Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro ordered military drills in response to provocation by the U.K. In Korean Peninsula , Kim Jong Un is threatening nuclear war to his enemies U.S and South Korea and has launched military drills and tested nuclear ballistic missiles in response to provocations by U.S and South Korea. America has deployed nuclear submarines in port Busan and B-52 nuclear bombers in response to nuclear threats by North Korea. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has urged the country’s Constitution to be amended and desinate South Korea as the number one enemy state.
Jesus said there would be wars and rumors of wars all the way until he appear in the heavens.
