Just when you thought that the whole woke gender ideology debate could not get any worse, it appears that it has descended to a new low. Not even the dead are safe from radical gender ideologues. The LGBT+ lobby is not just going after the living. They also want to change the gender identities of the dead. Your deceased grandmother will soon have the ability to change into your deceased grandfather.
On February 4, 2024, WION News published an article titled “British MP Suggests Dead People Should Be Able to Change Their Gender” that claims that politicians are making the case that deceased people actually care about how other people perceive their sexual orientation. The article stated:
• “A Labour Member of Parliament (MP) in the UK has called for the law to be modified to allow dead people to change their gender in official records after death. Charlotte Nichols, the MP representative for Warrington North, in a written question to the Parliament last month, put forth the request. Nichols asked if the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) 2004 could be changed ‘to allow transgender people who are deceased to be legally remembered by the gender they lived by.’ However, Nichols’ request was shut down by Stuart Andrew, the qualities minister who said the government had no plans to further amend the Act.” [1]
These are the people who are running our governments. These are the leaders who are trying to draft regulations that we must follow. Unfortunately, the world has basically rejected the truth of God’s word, which says:
“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” Ecclesiastes 9:5.
“Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?” Matthew 19:4, 5.
Abandoning God’s word results in substituting truth for error—or what the Bible refers to as the “doctrines of devils.”
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” 1 Timothy 4:1.
Distinguishing between truth and error should not be a difficult task if we only turn to God’s words for our answers. In fact, God’s word warns us about false teachers and prophets that would attempt to deceive the very elect (Matthew 24:4, 5, 11, 24). Believers must exercise great caution and vigilance when it comes to accepting the points of faith and doctrine to avoid falling for the counterfeit. Politicians need to be careful about enshrining the doctrines of the devil in our legal system and societal norms. We have been told that the counterfeit will resemble the truth so closely that it will become impossible to distinguish between truth and error without the word of God.
“None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict. To every soul will come the searching test, Shall I obey God rather than men? The decisive hour is even now at hand. Are our feet planted on the rock of God’s immutable Word? Are we prepared to stand firm in defense of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus?” (Great Controversy, p. 593).
“Satan employs every possible device to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible; for its plain utterances reveal his deceptions … Antichrist is to perform his marvelous works in our sight. So closely will the counterfeit resemble the true, that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures.” (Great Controversy, p. 593).
