The National Eucharistic Revival is an initiative by the Catholic Church in the United States aimed at rekindling devotion and belief in the Sunday Eucharist among Catholics. It is also a focal point for evangelization efforts to reach those outside the Church, particularly Protestants, as major Eucharistic processions are taking place in major cities across the United States. This is a strategic effort being led by Rome to bring about the Catholicization of America, which refers to the increasing influence or dominance of the Catholic Church in the political, social, and cultural life of the nation. This concept implies that Roman Catholic beliefs and practices, such as the Eucharistic Mass and Sunday worship, are being thrust on the general public at the expense of other religious perspectives.
On July 10, 2024, The National Catholic Register reported that Pope Francis was praising the Eucharistic revival in America and would send a special envoy to represent him at the National Eucharistic Congress scheduled to take place in Indianapolis from July 17 to 21, 2024. In fact, the Pope appointed Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, the director of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Evangelization, to lead his delegation to the United States. This is clearly an evangelistic campaign designed to deepen a sense of reverence for the Sunday Eucharist in American life and to reverse the significant decline of church attendance.
The National Catholic Register published the following:
• “Pope Francis praised the ongoing National Eucharistic Revival in the United States, saying in a letter published Tuesday that he wished to extend a special blessing to all those attending the National Eucharistic Congress later this month.” [1]
• “We were very happy to hear the news about the National Eucharistic Congress in the United States of America.” [1]
• “Cardinal Tagle was appointed by Francis in May as his special envoy to the National Eucharistic Congress, an event that will take place in Indianapolis from July 17-21 and is expected to gather tens of thousands of American faithful.” [1]
• “In the letter, the Pope commends Archbishop Timothy Broglio, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the U.S. bishops for their efforts to increase devotion to the Eucharist.” [1]
• “Francis also authorized Cardinal Tagle to serve as his extraordinary representative at the congress on the Pope’s behalf.” [1]
• “The Pope goes on to instruct Cardinal Tagle to greet all the faithful assembled for the Congress, to “encourage a more vigorous worship of the Eucharist,” and to “express our benevolence to all participants.” [1]
Pope Francis has expressed strong support for this initiative because it aligns with the vision he has for our nation and the rest of the world. By fostering a renewed focus on the Sunday Eucharist, the pope hopes to inspire a spiritual revival that will lead to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. The Book of Revelation in the New Testament contains passages that speak of the rise of a one-world religious system that will exercise global authority. The following passage shows that a global figure would one day receive widespread worship and allegiance.
“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:3, 4.
“And power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:7, 8.
The following verses describe the beast’s (Rome’s) authority over all nations and peoples, implying global control and worship. The second beast, representing the United States, will bring this spiritual crisis to fruition.
“And he (USA) exerciseth all the power of the first beast (Rome) before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed … And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Revelation 13:13, 15.
The image of the beast, as well as the forced worship of the first beast, represent a unified religious system that will encompass all nations.
“Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” Revelation 17:1, 2.
The great prostitute, also known as Babylon, represents a corrupt, global religious system that influences all nations and brings them together into one body. Unfortunately, the movement’s foundation will be built on the errors of Antichrist rather than Christ’s plain biblical teachings.
“And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.” Revelation 17:15.
This demonstrates the widespread influence of a corrupt religious system, which will wield power over many people and nations. A counterfeit revival is currently underway, and it will only serve to unite all churches into one family.
“Satan determines to unite them in one body, and thus strengthen his cause by sweeping all into the ranks of Spiritualism. Papists, who boast of miracles as a certain sign of the true church, will be readily deceived by this wonder-working power; and Protestants, having cast away the shield of truth, will also be deluded. Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world, and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium” (Great Controversy, p. 588).
The good news is that God will be working to bring about genuine revival and reformation as the counterfeit spreads. Under the power of the Latter Rain, the world will receive the final waring in preparation for Jesus’ second coming. In other words, the Antichrist’s false revival will not overshadow the work of the Remnant, who refuse to worship the beast, its image, or its mark.
“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:1-5.

They have spoken against our holy order.” Terror seized me, and I ran through the house, out of the north door, and found myself in the midst of a company, some of whom I knew, but I dared not speak a word to them for fear of being betrayed. I tried to seek a retired spot where I might weep and pray without meeting eager, inquisitive eyes wherever I turned. I repeated frequently: “If I could only understand this! If they will tell me what I have said or what I have done!” – {1T 577.2}
I wept and prayed much as I saw our goods confiscated. I tried to read sympathy or pity for me in the looks of those around me, and marked the countenances of several whom I thought would speak to me and comfort me if they did not fear that they would be observed by others. I made one attempt to escape from the crowd, but seeing that I was watched, I concealed my intentions. I commenced weeping aloud, and saying: “If they would only tell me what I have done or what I have said!” My husband, who was sleeping in a bed in the same room, heard me weeping aloud and awoke me.
