Rome, the “mother of harlots and abominations” (Revelation 17:5) and “the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird” (Revelation 18:2), is to blame for replacing genuine biblical worship with pure entertainment. This change is part of Babylon’s corruption of the faith. Rather than glorifying God, Rome prioritizes a superficial faith experience based on emotional stimulation over God’s sanctifying truth. In the video above, you can see Catholic priests leading their young members down the path of unholy worship, where demonic forces have invaded the churches and an unholy spirit has taken possession of their breakdancing spectacles.
Tragically, many young Adventists are adopting these same trends, with the blessing of church leaders. Our youth are following in the footsteps of Rome. Unless our people change their ways and encourage our members to follow God’s paths of worship, the floodgates of corruption will continue to sweep away the movement’s spirituality and sacredness.
“Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.” Isaiah 29:13.
The Bible warns against worshiping God outwardly, through external displays mixed with human traditions and inventions.
“I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.” Amos 5:21-24.
God tells us through the prophet Amos that He rejects worship that lacks righteousness and purity.
“Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible.” Amos 1:7.
This passage clearly states that God does not accept all forms of worship, particularly worship that has been corrupted or polluted by man’s foolishness. This highlights the importance of giving God our best. Our worship must be consistent with God’s commandments; otherwise, it will become corrupted by worldly and profane elements.
“Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time … The truth for this time needs nothing of this kind in its work of converting souls. A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit’s working” (Selected Messages, Vol. 2, p. 36).
