“They worshipped the sun toward the east.” Ezekiel 8:16.
“Satan has long been preparing for his final effort to deceive the world … Little by little he has prepared the way for his masterpiece of deception in the development of spiritualism” (Great Controversy, p. 561).
On October 1, 2024, Claudia Sheinbaum took the oath of office as the first female president of Mexico. One of the ceremonies that took place in the capital’s Constitution Plaza included the invocation of the Sun god while the people were asked to raise their hands and look to the east. This is a revival of the worship of the ancient pagan gods that we read about in the Bible. Many ancient cultures, such as Babylon, Rome, Sodom, and the Antediluvians, ceased to exist for participating in these same displays.
The following was stated during the video showing part of the inauguration:
• “We are going to begin our sacred ceremony, and we are going to raise our hands in the direction where the sun rises in the east. We raise our hands. We invoke the Nahuales (supernatural spirits), the deities and the other beings and divine spirits that inhabit this place. We ask for life, illumination, and wisdom for the constitutional president, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. We ask for your divine light to accompany her, to illuminate her in every step she takes, in every decision, to her and her work team. We entrust her to our African ancestors to give her the resistance and strength to govern with love, with commitment, with integrity, and with humility to the people of Mexico. We ask you, Father Sun, that you may inhabit her heart, just as you live in each heart of the girls and women of Mexico.” (Video)
• “May the air always be with you. May our Mother Earth always bless you with the strength that the indigenous peoples bring.” (Video)
• “We invoke our ancestors and grandparents that with their wisdom, her knowledge, her experience, and the path of our president, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Parda, that they guide her and illuminate her with the light so that her work can be carried out with the strength of the universe and that together we can pray together, with all our hearts, that she may be enlightened and that the wisdom of our grandparents and ancestors, in all her walks at all times.” (Video)
• “From the center of the earth, we ask forgiveness to our Mother Earth because we have disrespected her. We have suffered with her all these climate changes.” (Video)
This is state-sponsored spiritualism. Instead of preparing for the eternal and final home that God is preparing for us (John 14:1-3), the new mission is to shape and mold this present world with nature worship, religious mysticism, and radical environmentalism. Not only are they openly worshipping the Sun, they are invoking demonic spirits to join them. The so-called Nahuales that were called on during this presidential inauguration are “mythical beings” and “supernatural spirits” that “have the ability to transform into animals.” According to the Mexican government, these “Nahuales” are protective spiritual guides that accompany people from birth to death. [1]
This was pure witchcraft, divination, spiritualism, and sun worship. They were doing the very things that God forbids in His word. Where was the protest? Where were the Bible-based Protestants who are supposed to be speaking out against such national apostasy? There was no protest. Unfortunately, Protestant churches, including many Seventh-day Adventists, are also too busy engaging with spiritualism in ecumenical unity. [2]
Our generation has become so blind that it cannot distinguish the holy from the profane. People don’t know the difference between the worship of God and demonic worship. What we are witnessing is part of the devastating consequences of ecumenism when mixed with spiritualism. All faiths must be celebrated because they are all one. This is part of Rome’s message and the reason why Pope Francis is making a universal push to promote spiritualism. Unfortunately, many Christians are ignoring God’s word when it comes to paganism and idolatry, which is nothing more than an abandonment of God and His truth.
“Spiritualism is about to take the world captive … The signs and wonders of spiritualism will become more and more pronounced as the professed Christian world rejects the plainly revealed truth of the Word of God, and refuse to be guided by a plain ‘Thus saith the Lord,’ accepting instead the doctrines and the commandments of men.” (Manuscript, 92, 1894).
“Satan determines to unite them in one body, and thus strengthen his cause by sweeping all into the ranks of Spiritualism … Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world, and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium.” (Great Controversy, pp. 588, 589).
How long will God allow this pagan perversion to continue? The Scriptures remind us that there is a limit to God’s mercy.
“And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.” Deuteronomy 8:19, 20.
“And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers: Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands…And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.” Micah 5:12, 13, 15.
“And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.” Jeremiah 1:16.
