On April 16, 2025, President Donald Trump hosted a memorable Easter dinner Wednesday evening, bringing together faith leaders and clergy to celebrate the holiest week for Catholics and Protestants. The event was live-streamed to the world as part of a weeklong series of events celebrating Holy Week.
In the video Paula White, the charismatic evangelical who leads Donald Trump’s White House Faith Office, said that in the short time Trump has been serving in his second term, over 1,000 faith leaders have visited the White House.
Franklin Graham, a prominent leader in the evangelical movement, thanked President Trump for his Easter Proclamation and said that Washington, D.C., and the White House had been suffering from a spiritual drought for far too long.
Jentezen Franklin, an Evangelical pastor and televangelist, also thanked President Trump for his public statements on Easter and Holy Week. Jentezen Franklin told Trump that God is using him because there is a movement within the churches where attendance is reaching numbers never seen before, and he attributed this to God moving in our nation.
President Donald Trump also expressed at this event that he has accomplished in his first three months more than anyone before him. Trump also said that this Easter will be very special because of things happening that haven’t been seen in 100 years.
Trump said that the support that he has from the Evangelicals and from all people of faith is “unprecedented.” Trump also said that they are restoring faith once again in America and that Christians can also get mad at efforts to remove the phrase “In God We Trust,” something that Trump says will never happen.
A religious awakening is sweeping the Evangelical and Catholic Churches under Donald Trump’s second presidency, signaling what many view as the ascendancy of Christian nationalism within the highest levels of American power. With key advisors and officials openly championing faith-based governance, it is increasingly clear that the White House is now firmly under the influence of Christian nationalist ideology.
This movement envisions a return to what it sees as America’s divine mission, seeking to enshrine Christian doctrines into law and public policy. From education, reproductive rights, national identity, immigration, economics, and Sunday rest by law, a growing number of legislative initiatives aim to restore the centrality of apostate Christianity in American life.
For supporters, this marks a long-awaited revival; for concerned citizens, this is a troubling shift in the nation’s foundations. Either way, the signs signal that sweeping changes are coming that will reshape the cultural and legal fabric of the United States.
As we witness the rapid unfolding of prophetic events, it is time for Seventh-day Adventists to pray earnestly and work faithfully, for the final movements are indeed fast and decisive. This is not the time for spiritual slumber or complacency, but for deep consecration, bold witnessing, and unwavering trust in God’s promises. The hour has come to lift up God’s standards and share the Three Angels’ Messages with urgency and to prepare ourselves and others for the soon return of our Lord.
