One hundred thousand police officers are detaining drivers and pedestrians on the streets at various checkpoints across the nation of France, demanding that they present a special document justifying their movement. France put its 67 million residents under lock-down in an attempt to fight the coronavirus. Those who do not carry identification along with special “signed documents” that explain the reasons for being outside are violating France’s new “confinement” orders. [1]

Here’s the form France residents need for the next fortnight if they want to leave their homes (whole country inc. all overseas territories)https://t.co/qtxaztR0gC#coronavirus #CoronavirusFrance #F24 cc @BritishInEurope pic.twitter.com/vGTXzAzksC— Catherine Nicholson (@ACatInParis) March 17, 2020
Here are the new forms that must be completed and signed if you want to leave your home. The police will demand to see this signed document. Those who leave the confinement of their homes must carry these documents. Without this signed affidavit, you are in violation.
🇫🇷Just back from a quick run (that’s allowed with an attestation or permission slip). So quiet. Was out for about 40 mins and passed 3 on foot police patrols and several police vans (they’re taking it seriously). #COVID19 #coronavirus

Many freedoms are suddenly being lost in Europe. The normal way of life is being replaced with authoritarian regulations. These new changes in France are only supposed to last 15 days. However, as coronavirus infections continue to rise, the new confinement orders are expected to last much longer. For now, people in France must fill out these forms that explain the new acceptable reasons for leaving home. Failure to comply will result in financial penalties.
Other Government Overreach
Denmark’s parliament has passed new emergency coronavirus legislation that “gives health authorities powers to force testing, treatment and quarantine with the backing of the police. The far-reaching new law will remain in force until March 2021, when it will expire under a sunset clause.” [2]
A news report has just come out that states how the Italian College of Anesthesia, Analgesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care has published new guidelines for doctors in Italy saying that “those who are too old to have a high likelihood of recovery, or who have too low a number of ‘life-years’ left even if they should survive, would be left to die.” [3]
Those who have too little “life years left?” This is the state attempting to take the place of God. What is happening in Europe is quite alarming. Empty streets, closed businesses, the loss of travel and the foregoing of certain freedoms is disrupting the lives of people. There is no question that government action is needed in times of crisis. The problem is when those in authority take steps that are worrisome, excessive and frankly not necessary.
The question and concern is whether these steps being used in Europe will also reach the United States in the coming weeks. Will we also be required to complete forms before leaving our homes? Will we also be force-tested even if we don’t show any symptoms of coronavirus? And will we also have to throw grandma off the cliff because she doesn’t have a lot of “life years left”?
