On May 30, 2024, Pastor Scott Jeffreys of the Forest Park Presbyterian Church in Statesville, NC, wrote an article in The Independent Tribune emphasizing the spiritual and economic advantages of keeping Sunday holy for worship. He used the example of Chick-fil-A, which is closed on Sunday but remains busy with full parking lots the rest of the week. The message to the community is that by keeping Sunday, we will receive financial, temporal, and physical blessings.
The Independent Tribune published the following:
• “Everyone has heard of Chick-fil-A. When folks ride by them on Sundays, they always remember they are not open. It is a vivid reminder of two things. First, human beings need Sabbath. We are not wired to go 24/7. We are a crazy busy society, and oh, how those workers must love having at least one day off! Second, we are reminded of how full their parking lot is the rest of the week. Why is that? Perhaps God has looked favorably on them for keeping the Sabbath principle.” [1]
• “Today, I want to encourage you to trust God in the principle of Sabbath keeping. Is too much work keeping you away from your family? Or your church? If so, pray about trusting God to sustain you on a little less work, so that you can get the rest you need and time for worship.” [1]
The Presbyterian pastor claims that keeping Sunday holy will make God look “favorably” at us. We were told through inspiration that “divine favor and temporal prosperity” would be two of the primary justifications for restoring Sunday observance. This is exactly what we are witnessing before our very eyes.
“It will be declared that men are offending God by the violation of the Sunday-sabbath, that this sin has brought calamities which will not cease until Sunday observance shall be strictly enforced, and that those who present the claims of the fourth commandment, thus destroying reverence for Sunday, are troublers of the people, preventing their restoration to divine favor and temporal prosperity” (Great Controversy, p. 590).
Soon, the second part of the above statement will be realized. Those who present the claims of the Fourth Commandment will soon be blamed for all of the world’s disasters and calamities because they dare to stand up for God and His truth. God’s people will be despised for being unique and peculiar, as well as for refusing to accept the papal mark of apostasy—Sunday worship by law.
“Shall we permit the world to shape the messages that God has given us to bear to them? Shall we entertain the proposals of Satan, and thereby entangle our souls, and the souls of others, for the sake of policy? Shall we betray sacred trusts? If the world are in error and delusion, breaking the law of God, is it not our duty to show them their sin and danger? We must proclaim the third angel’s message … We should cry aloud, and spare not, and show the people their transgressions. We are not to cringe, and beg pardon of the world for telling them the truth. We should scorn concealment. Unfurl your true colors to the gaze of men and angels. Let it be understood that Seventh-day Adventists can make no compromise. In our opinions and faith there must not be the least appearance of wavering” (Review and Herald, January 31, 1893).

I am a Bible believing Christian. The Bible says remember the Saturday to keep it holy Saturday is God true Sabbath it it is a sign between God and his people. Sunday is a counterfeit Sunday saying always have to throw a boomerang in the plant. God is worthy of all our praise, he wants us to praise him on his blessing and holy day that he has said apart and sanctified.
