It is only a matter of time before more and more churches start compromising the faith on the LGBT+ question. It is disappointing to see them cave like this. Every day the situation only grows worse. We certainly expect big corporations like Google, Target, Disney and Amazon to push the pro-homosexual agenda. But when we see an increase of “Christians” surrendering to the gay lobby, this is something that should concern us.
Two lesbian women were just recently married in an official Catholic wedding at St. Margarethen Church in Wolfsberg, Austria. Roman Catholic Priest Michael Kopp performed the “religious” ceremony. [1] Even though homosexuality goes against the clear teaching of God’s word and even though Catholic Priest Michael Kopp violated the official teaching of the Catholic Catechism on homosexuality it is unlikely that Kopp will ever be fired or disciplined by the Vatican or by any church official for performing a lesbian wedding.
The Catholic Catechism in paragraph #2357 condemns homosexuality:
- “Homosexual acts” are “acts of grave depravity.”
- “Homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.”
- “They are contrary to the natural law.”
- “They close the sexual act to the gift of life.”
- “They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity.”
- “Under no circumstances can they be approved.” [2]
Silence is acceptance and inaction is complicity. If Rome doesn’t hold this priest accountable and fire him for his rebellious, non-compliance then they will also be found guilty for violating God’s clear teaching on morality. We invite the judgments of Heaven upon us when we presume to know more than God as to what constitutes marriage. This generation of politically correct “Christians” has an arrogant, rebellious attitude towards purity, decency and righteousness. How can we imagine and think that we have the audacity to change God’s law and redefine marriage?
There is a universal push among many Christians from all denominations to alter or ignore God’s word on same-sex marriage. This is nothing more than an abandonment of God’s word in an attempt to appease the world. The church would rather ignore and offend its conservative base than to upset the radical LGBT+ advocates. Why? Because a politically correct church is one who fears the boycotts, the bad publicity, the protests, the sit-ins, the bullying and the negative reaction from the very vocal and radical LGBT+ militants.
So it is safer in this politically correct society to offend the conservative base and to offend God than to offend the LGBT+ movement. The LGBT+ movement knows that if you can continually harass politically correct Christians they will cave every time.
