Life Site News published a report on how abortion advocates have launched a new slogan that reads: ‘We will fight, we will win, put the fetus in the bin!’ [1] This is a reference to putting babies with Down syndrome in the trash. These abortionists, most of whom were young students, created this demonstration on Down Syndrome Day, a day dedicated to raising public awareness of the rights of people with Down syndrome. [2]

This is some of the worst rhetoric from abortionists you will ever see. They are basically telling people that they will fight for their right to kill babies with Down syndrome and then have them thrown into the dumpster. Proponents of abortion use such demonstrations in an attempt to get the public to normalize their radical views. They want you to accept and support their policies on death.
These women are chanting death to babies with Down syndrome and laughing at the same time. Anyone who can watch this and still support abortion is either terribly deceived or has sold his or her soul to the evil one (John 8:44). If you are a sane, normal person, you should never support the policies embraced by these lovers of death who celebrate baby-killing on the streets.
This is one of the reasons why we long for the Second Coming of Christ. When Jesus comes He will ultimately establish a kingdom of peace where there will be no more death, no more bloodshed, no more violence, no more destruction of life, no more cruelty and no more suffering. This is the glorious future for God’s children who love and protect life. We will dwell in perfect peace and safety when Christ returns:
“They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea” Isaiah 11:9.
“Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise” Isaiah 60:18.
We cannot be part of God’s kingdom of peace unless we are peaceful people in our practices and in our public witness. Seventh-day Adventists have been too passive and silent on the issue of abortion. In our defense of the truth of the Sabbath (the Fourth Commandment), we have neglected to work for a more tangible peace for the most defenseless: the unborn children who are being slaughtered without mercy.
This is also defending and upholding the Law of God: “Thou shall not kill” (the Sixth Commandment). We are a people who keep the commandments (Revelation 12:17; 14:12; 22:14). We are not politicians, therefore, we must defend ALL of God’s law (James 2: 10-12) and not only the part that is politically expedient. Can we as a people speak out and advocate for clean water, [3] but remain silent on the issue of the sanctity of unborn human life as our culture of death continues its genocide against millions of innocents?
Can Seventh-day Adventist really sit on the fence on this issue? “Thou shalt not kill.” This command is an integral part of the revelation of God’s will for humanity. We need to seriously apply our medical work, our educational work, our ministerial work and any other public witness and voice against the violence of abortion, in the name of peace and in the name of God’s kingdom of peace!
Seventh-day Adventists are very vocal and outspoken about other issues. Can we not raise a voice against this violence too? We must be both a public witness for the preservation of human life, and a protest against the killing of human life. We are a commandment-keeping people, and one day if faithful, and if we speak up for the innocent, the defenseless and for God’s law, we will live in communion with the God of peace.
“If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways … That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.” Deuteronomy 19:9, 10.
“Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person (abortion services). And all the people shall say, Amen.” Deuteronomy 27:25.
“And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters.” Psalm 106:38.
