Tain TV is a live streaming news, sports, entertainment, and lifestyle program located in Nsawkaw, Ghana. They recently released a video showing Seventh-day Adventist Academy students performing a public dance show that served as a type of fundraising event. This event was put on by Adventist Preparatory School, which is also in Nsawkaw, and featured dancing by its students that at times could easily be described as sensual, provocative, and suggestive.
What was even more disturbing is that the adults aggravated this situation by throwing money at the children as they danced. The more intensely the students danced, the more money they generated. In the video, you can see money being thrown either as gifts, donations, or tips. These “money showers” are typically celebratory gestures designed to show enthusiasm, support, and admiration for the performers. The style of music, the dancing moves, and the tossing of money are reminiscent of what takes place in many adult entertainment venues in our world.
Has this become the new fundraising method in Adventism? Is this how we are going to raise funds to advance the mission of the church? Is this how God is now funding the closing work, through tips and money showers during worldly dancing? And most importantly, what are we teaching these children—how to make fast money? What are we preparing them for—a future career that involves dancing for tips?
The Church in Ghana must distance itself from these kinds of representations. They must distance themselves from any pastor or school director who works for them and refuses to uphold a higher standard of righteousness and truth. This is a prime example of what happens whenever we depart from the clear teachings of God by transforming educational institutions into venues for worldly entertainment.
“And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.” Mark 9:42.
“But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.” 1 Corinthians 8:9.

They would have fit right into a Michael Jackson video!!! The mother’s were wearing short dresses also. That says a whole lot of why the children are they way they are!

All so very, very sad. Brings tears of regret to my eyes and heart.
Diana says
That’s the way to get the world to recognize our “uniqueness” by putting it out there on youtube. This is disgusting and immoral. How much lower can we go? Shameful!
Debby says
What is this some voo doo possession this is sick these children are possessed
Dena says
This was sickening and disturbing beyond measure. To see these young children twerking and dancing in such a worldly sensual fashion and people throwing money at their faces… The worst part was the grown man dancing suggestively in their midst with his tongue out. Guaranteed there was more than a few in the crowd who were appalled but did nothing. Where is an Elijah or a Daniel who would have stopped this devilish display?? May we sigh and cry over what is happening in the SDA church but also act.
Cynthia says
This makes me so sad! Is this being brought to the attention of conference leaders? Children should NOT be twerking, let alone dancing for money. There are other fundraising activities that are more in line with SDA standards. This shouldn’t even be an issue! The church has fallen so far from where we started.
Alvin Shepherd says
They literally started this performance by reciting John 1: 1-14. How does that happen? Help us Jesus before it’s to late.
Jerry ODonnell says
Children are not trained for God. Their moral and religious education is neglected. The animal passions are being constantly strengthened, while the moral faculties are becoming enfeebled. {SA 179.2}
