The theme of the meeting was “Peace, Spirituality, and Solidarity.” Seventh-day Adventists met with religious and political leaders on December 20, 2022, in the city of Jesi, Italy, to reflect on the spirit of Christmas and to deepen their relationship with Roman Catholics, Orthodox and Muslims in order to create a more visible unity.
The city mayor, Lorenzo Fiordelmondo, said at the beginning of the gathering:
“One of the tools for organizing a society based not on such a material culture is to enhance spirituality and the activities of thought, the awareness of being able to build something together with other religious professions. A strong spirit of solidarity and attention to the little ones are the key words for this Christmas 2022.” [1]
Roman Catholic Bishop Gerardo Ronconi, representing the Catholic Church, delivered Pope Francis’ message to the gathering:
“The Pope assumes that as believers we must trust in the mercy that gives us hope, even in a particularly difficult situation … The Pope wrote that crises change people, but in addition to seeing the negative effects, we must also observe those realities that have revived after Covid , in those realities the sense of us has emerged, the testimony that alone we do not go forward, we need to activate the spirit of collaboration.” [1]
Seventh-day Adventist Pastor Johnatan Breci expressed the following:
“I share the idea of spirituality and teamwork with the Mayor. Sharing the same direction, each with their own diversity. In us, one goes beyond personal boundaries and discovers oneself as part of the whole. Together we can team up for the good of the territory. Let us draw inspiration from the principles of Christianity to deal with the republic.” [1]
It is not God’s will that unites us with Rome. God is not calling Seventh-day Adventists to do this. It is the Pope’s call, not God’s, that is bringing the churches together. Embracing Rome requires significant adjustments and compromises to our unique beliefs and practices. It is foolish and naïve to think that greater unity and “teamwork” with Rome are even possible without any compromise.
What do you think is happening to our distinct Protestant school of prophetic interpretation regarding the beast, Babylon, the antichrist, and the man of sin as we work together with Rome to fulfill a common witness? It is eventually abandoned. What happens to the Three Angels’ Message? They are being put in jeopardy by misguided leaders.
It’s the Three Angels’ Message alone that will bring true Christian unity. As far as Seventh-day Adventists are concerned—or should be—our strength lies in our commitment to teaching and practicing these messages. “Come out of her (Rome) my people” so that we can give a faithful witness to the truth of the everlasting gospel (Revelation 18:1-5). Why can’t church leaders today see that we have a biblical and prophetic understanding that would make it impossible to work towards unity with the other churches as long as they embrace grave theological errors? Unity with Rome does not help us fulfill our mission of proclaiming the gospel in the context of Revelation 14 and 18, it hinders it.
Our failure to preserve our testimony is putting us on a one-way street towards Babylon. We are witnessing how Adventism is being compromised today. Our faith is being diluted by ecumenism, and our true Protestant heritage is being abandoned. The culmination of ecumenism is “Rome sweet home.”
The truth is that these compromised ecumenical leaders in Adventism are fulfilling prophecy, but not in the way they imagine. Today, too many of our people are under a terrible delusion because of all the smooth talk found in the ecumenical movement:
“Satan has carried his first great work of deception down through all the ages, and will until the close of time. In antichrist, he has a living agent. When the Christian world shall make void the law of God when church and state are united, when Protestantism shall reach its hands across the gulf to unite with Romanism, allegiance to the law of God will be fully thrown off and the decree will go forth against the people of God. But when men trample on the plainest requirements of God’s word, the prayer will go up to heaven, ‘It is time for thee, Lord to work; for they have made void thy law.’ [Psalm 119:126.] And God will work. Satan will then inspire men, and even professedly Christian men who refused to receive the love of the truth, to accuse and slander those who keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus” (Manuscript, 104, 1893).

Andy,
Many thanks for your insightful thoughts and written comments. Please keep up the great work your doing. Sadly the corporate body of our church is MIA. The silence from our leaders world wide is deafening.
I have come to realise we (SDA) believers need to bypass our leadership and rally our individual voices from near and far. Jesus is coming soon, let us not be distracted, let us not loose heart, lets spread Gods true message and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.
Kind regards,
Neil

The Pharisees criticized Jesus for eating and socializing with publicans, Samaritans, and “sinners”, didn’t they? Would anyone consider Jesus to be ecumenical? If the
opportunity arose to witness for Jesus and invite Him to be everyone’s Savior (with even one life changed), why not capitalize on the moment no matter who is in the
crowd? The human race needs salvation desperately. Do we forget who are neighbor is? Do we love them as ourselves, while at the same time expressing our love
for Jesus? Certainly we, as Christians, can do better than the Pharisees. (Do we want to?) We need to, don’t you think? Jesus is returning soon for His sheep in every
fold. Why not invite anyone and everyone to be ready for His glorious appearing, even making non-Christians to think, research, and make an eternal decision? Let’s
not forget the gospel commission given to us by Jesus. How can He say to us, “Well done thou good and faithful servant, if we squander priceless opportunities? We
are not going into a bar or brothel to communicate with ecumenical people. We are in a professional setting, and there is no second chance for a first impression. We
should be prayerful, humble, and “ambassadors for Christ”. Is there room for growth in our Christian experience? I hope you think so. Take care.

Answer to CW GOOD.
Revelation is a book of the end,of our time.
Revelation is not been fulfilled in the time of Jesus, but now,in the future.
So…,dont mistake Jesus love for the publicans to the love Babilon ,where it is requested that we unreave
the Babilon and to get out of her.
The beast is the beast.
She does not chang.
Jesus didint enter in to ecumenism with Satan ,when he has asked to bine down to Jim.

As ambassadors of Christ we should present God’s truth and not just be indoctrinated with the Pope’s message.
Willian says
“As the storm approaches, a large class who have professed faith in the third angel’s message, but have not been sanctified through obedience to the truth, abandon their position and join the ranks of the opposition. By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they have come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy, popular side. Men of talent and pleasing address, who once rejoiced in the truth, employ their powers to deceive and mislead souls. They become the most bitter enemies of their former brethren. When Sabbathkeepers are brought before the courts to answer for their faith, these apostates are the most efficient agents of Satan to misrepresent and accuse them, and by false reports and insinuations to stir up the rulers against them.” – {GC 608.2}
