“Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.” Acts 6:2.
There are signs indicating that the effort to break down the major divisions in Christendom is in full swing. Despite the fact that the various churches have theological disagreements, and it could be said that they are poles apart, the work of ministering to the spiritual needs of the people with the everlasting gospel of Revelation 14 is being replaced with social activism. The early church worked to save the soul rather than just alleviating the physical body. We have a special message of salvation that must be conveyed to sinners by pointing them to the law of God and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12). Unfortunately, this work is being exchanged for the never-ending struggle to solve all the temporal problems of this world. Thanks to ecumenism, the churches of today are abandoning the work of offering eternal life in exchange for serving tables, promoting world peace and establishing harmonious coexistence.
This was clearly evident during the recent 2023 Interreligious Fair for Peace that was held in Sonora, Mexico. The social gospel has become the foundational basis for many Seventh-day Adventists to join with Roman Catholics and Evangelicals [1] to “combine” each other’s “doctrines” and efforts in order to establish a new harmonious coexistence. The local news reported the following about how the churches are blending their different religious beliefs into a new religious framework based on a social mission:
“With the purpose of combining doctrines, values and principles oriented towards harmonious coexistence and respect between the different congregations and that their objectives of moral and spiritual reinforcement contribute to the establishment of peace in the municipality, Cajeme (city) hosted the First Interreligious Fair for Peace, which took place at the CEN facilities of the Technological Institute of Sonora.” [2]
“During his speech, the Municipal President, Javier Lamarque Cano highlighted the importance of the various religious congregations coming together here, since he indicated that religion plays a fundamental role in building peace, a process that constitutes the mission of all those who work for a better world, ‘we have the mission of building peace, since peace implies non-violence, it implies love, always seeking encounter, dialogue and conciliation to walk together towards a life of well-being and happiness’, stressed Lamarque Cano.” [2]
In the above post, a local politician expressed how the ecumenical encounter also included a new partnership with the state:
“It fills me with joy to know that the current government headed by our Governor Alfonso Durazo sees the church as an agent of change for society, as an alternative to reduce crime rates, said Deputy Iram Solis … With renewed hopes, all the attendees expressed their satisfaction since it is the first time that church, society and government have worked in an organized manner and all for the same purpose, La Paz, the path to La Paz is respect for the beliefs of everyone, is the basis for transforming our community” (Facebook post).
This was a new community partnership between all the churches and the government, all working together for the same goal. We saw these same partnerships between church and state during the Covid pandemic. Basically, the churches became branches of the state to promote the oppressive health mandates. Since people seem to trust the churches more than the government, religious organizations were used to promote Covid vaccines.
Politicians are here urging religious organizations to cooperate with the state to advance the “well-being” of its citizens. The problem with this is that the secular government’s social agenda on abortion, the LGBT+ movement, feminism, forced health mandates, and other ideologies can sometimes be in conflict with the word of God. These kinds of partnerships undermine the true mission of the church. When churches collaborate with the state, they lose their autonomy and their spiritual emphasis. This always results in the corruption of the pure gospel of Christ, as well as discrimination and persecution against those who choose not to participate or who hold opposing views.
Rome’s interest in fostering these church-state relationships and urging all the churches to unite with her is undeniable. As the world moves in this direction, the various churches, including state governments, are becoming increasingly intertwined. In his encyclical Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis calls for improved relations between all people and the visible unification of all religions into a single body. This can only happen when we abandon truth in exchange for a non-biblical false unity that will lead to the Sunday Law crisis.
“Church and state are now making preparations for the future conflict. Protestants are working in disguise to bring Sunday to the front, as did the Romanists. Throughout the land the papacy is piling up her lofty and massive structures, in the secret recesses of which her former persecutions are to be repeated. And the way is preparing for the manifestation, on a grand scale, of those lying wonders by which, if it were possible, Satan would deceive even the elect” (Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 449).

Pray tell me what is harmonious about blending the doctrines of Satan with the doctrines of Jesus Christ, the only true God and Creator…this is ludicrous and those promoting this heresy are in grave jeopardy of joining Satan and his Demons in Hell Fire.

But beware of that which the old writers called the world’s trinity—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. If you trifle and tamper with these, they will prove your ruin. (Lt 43, 1898)
Upon the above three principles of the trinity, shall God’s people unite with the world.
