From Tuesday, July 26, 2022, to Sunday, July 31, 2022, the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) hosted their 50th Annual Institute and Conference at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Chicago. This conference featured clinics, workshops, lectures, awards, dancing on Saturday night, and a Holy Communion Ecumenical Sunday morning worship service.
According to the official program schedule (page 5), you will see the Saturday night President’s Gala at the International Ballroom, which included “dinner and dancing.” Part of the “entertainment” was provided by DJ Swannque Da Funk Mummy. On the same page, you will see that the Sunday morning “Ecumenical Service” was led out by Pastor Dr. William J. Lee, Sr. from the First Seventh-day Adventist Church in Huntsville, AL. [1]

Pastor Dr. William J. Lee, Sr. of the First Seventh-day Adventist Church of Huntsville, Alabama, delivered the sermon at this ecumenical worship service on Sunday morning that also included a “Holy Communion” service.

The seventh-day Sabbath is holy because God’s word clearly states: “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God” Exodus 20:8, 9. No, he didn’t tell them any of that. Well, what exactly did he do? Pastor Dr. William J. Lee, Sr. was part of the Babylonian entertainment. It was all for showmanship. This is what you call having your “ears tickled” (2 Timothy 4:3). This is when people speak in a way that will amuse and entertain their audience. To land these types of speaking engagements, I suppose you need to have received specialized training at Andrews University and Oakwood University.

What is so wrong with our pastors? Is the Seventh-day Adventist truth no longer sufficient to satisfy their souls? Do we need Sunday morning worship and Sunday morning Holy Communion as well? Do we need to sing Catholic Mass songs [3] and worship Catholic golden idols [4], as other church leaders have done?
Thanks to Rome’s ecumenical movement, Seventh-day Adventist pastors can preside over Sunday morning worship services. Theology doesn’t have any more meaning. Truth means whatever you want it to mean. We can worship God on Saturday or Sunday. We can put aside our theological differences and worship God together.

A Seventh-day Adventist pastor must reject the First, Second, and Third Angels’ Message in order to lead out in a Sunday morning ecumenical worship service. To be the leading pastor who gives the sermon in this kind of service means that he must disregard the core tenets of Adventism. Such partnerships require that the distinctive Adventist doctrines be ignored in the name of ecumenical unity. This is exactly what has been happening and continues to happen today. Many Adventists are downplaying their fundamental teachings in the pursuit of seeking a common goal with Roman Catholics and Protestants.
How can sincere and faithful Seventh-day Adventists neglect to mention the Third Angels’ Message that pronounces anathema on anyone who worships the beast or receives his mark, which is Sunday worship imposed by law? How can we overlook the Second Angel’s Message that declares that Babylon has fallen and is causing the world to become drunk with her wine? How can we refuse the First Angel’s Message that calls us to fear God and worship the Creator on His holy Sabbath day? To ignore this is to undermine God’s last invitation of mercy to the world.
Only those who have become drunk will continue sweeping our doctrinal differences under the rug for the sake of ecumenical unity. Only those who have been sipping the wine of Babylon will ignore Rome’s heresies, because that is exactly what the wine of Babylon does. It causes us to disregard her errors. How can any true and faithful Seventh-day Adventists practice sun worship while still believing they can fulfill the mission God has given us?
Pope Francis is guiding the religious community to ignore truth and error in the effort of seeking common ground. As this work to destroy the faith intensifies, we must defend the purity and integrity of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe in unity and working together. However, we must stand together on the everlasting gospel of Revelation 14. And in order to achieve unity in the truth of God, it is necessary to oppose the ecumenical movement that betrays the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Today, we are witnessing the greatest push towards ecumenical unity. This is causing us to become indistinguishable from the other churches. The Omega of Apostasy is not near; it is here! And it is during this time that the faithful will stand united, not with Babylon, but with the truths that make us a uniquely “distinctive people.”
“A company was presented before me under the name of Seventh-day Adventists, who were advising that the banner or sign which makes us a distinctive people should not be held out so strikingly; for they claimed it was not the best policy in securing success to our institutions. This distinctive banner is to be borne through the world to the close of probation. In describing the remnant people of God, John says, ‘Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus’ Revelation 14:12” (Testimonies, Vol. 6, p. 44).

The followers of Christ are to separate themselves from sinners, choosing their society only when there is opportunity to do them good. We cannot be too decided in shunning the company of those who exert an influence to draw us away from God. While we pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” we are to shun temptation, so far as possible. {PP 458.2}
Make the Distinguishing Mark Prominent—We are to give to the world a manifestation of the pure, noble, holy principles that are to distinguish the people of God from the world. There are many in the church who at heart belong to the world, but God calls upon those who claim to believe the advanced truth, to rise above the present attitude of the popular churches of today. Where is the self-denial, where is the cross-bearing that Christ has said should characterize His followers? The reason we have had so little influence upon unbelieving relatives and associates is that we have manifested little decided difference in our practices from those of the world. Parents need to awake, and purify their souls by practicing the truth in their home life. When we reach the standard that the Lord would have us reach, worldlings will regard Seventh-day Adventists as odd, singular, strait-laced extremists. “We are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.” – FE 289.1
In the very time in which we live, the Lord has called His people and has given them a message to bear. He has called them to expose the wickedness of the man of sin who has made the Sunday law a distinctive power, who has thought to change times and laws, and to oppress the people of God who stand firmly to honor Him by keeping the only true Sabbath, the Sabbath of creation, as holy unto the Lord. – TM 117.5
The perils of the last days are upon us, and in our work we are to warn the people of the danger they are in. Let not the solemn scenes which prophecy has revealed be left untouched. If our people were half awake, if they realized the nearness of the events portrayed in the Revelation, a reformation would be wrought in our churches, and many more would believe the message. We have no time to lose; God calls upon us to watch for souls as they that must give an account. – TM 118.1
Why is the Union Conference or the Alabama Conference not censoring him for doing that?? Are they turning a blind eye?? Too many SDA’s want to be accepted by the world so they are compromising their beliefs more and more.
I talked to Dr. Lee today and he gave me a clear explanation that deserves attention. This was a nurses convention and he was asked to speak for the Sunday meeting. I don’t believe his intent was to compromise. EGW herself spoke at non-SDA churches and gatherings herself so I don’t see this as a compromise like in other cases. This shows how we need to clarify things with people whom we think in error before we jump on their cases.
Thank God for the author for calling out this act of misrepresentation of God’s truth. There’s no excuses for this type of conduct. Praising for Dr. Lee.

We can’t be doing this. This is how the early church lost it’s witness. Constantine united all the believers and pagans into one universal church.
Who are we to judge how and where Dr. Lee chooses to spread God’s word. Jesus spoke to all kinds of people. This is exactly what Lucifer wants to see, negativity. Instead of spreading this message to your followers, spend time getting to know this Pastor to see what he stands for and then share the whole truth. Better yet, spend time spreading God’s gospel, something positive.
Why do we feel the need to be the spiritual police? Folks are going to Christ-less graves everyday. Widows and orphans need our help. Put your energy in those things and let God do what He does, dying for the sinner while he’s sinning.
