Seventh-day Adventists are living in a crucial period of history because important changes are about to move us in a new direction that will have a profound effect on souls for life or death. Drag Queens have been growing in popularity as part of a worldwide diversity and inclusion initiative. Entertainment companies, nightlife businesses, LGBT+ and Pride events, retailers, fashion brands, and even churches are all joining the popular trend of hosting Drag Queens. Tragically, Seventh-day Adventists have become no exception.
The La Sierra University Church of Seventh-day Adventists has transitioned from hosting LGBT+ graduation ceremonies [1] to now hosting LGBT+ camp meetings complete with “lively drag brunch fundraisers.” Kinship Seventh-day Adventists, a support group comprised of individuals who identify as LGBT+ or who are allies of the LGBT+ community, reported the following news:
“44th Annual Kampmeeting – LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY CHURCH (Sierra Vista Chapel) – November 9-12, 2023, Riverside, CA, United States – Join us for the highly anticipated annual Kinship Kampmeeting! This year’s theme, ‘We believe,’ celebrates our diverse beliefs. Enjoy workshops, beach socializing, and a wellness event. Hear from LGBT+ thought leaders, connect with others, and support our life-saving work through a lively drag brunch fundraiser.” [2]
It is inconceivable that our Lord is leading us to support drag queen fundraisers and host LGBT+ camp meetings in our churches. We cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve God and the world. Either we must choose truth and utterly reject error, or the opposite must be true. We have to align ourselves completely with the will of God, or we must turn away from the paths of righteousness. You cannot do both.
Neutrality, indifference, and an unwillingness to take a stand for God’s truth in a time of crisis are sins against God and the Seventh-day Adventist faith. In an age of moral relativity, there is no place for ambiguity. God’s commandments are not just suggestions. God’s Word is not a book full of recommendations from which we can pick and choose what suits our individual tastes. His teachings are divinely inspired and must be fully accepted and followed, or they must be completely rejected. There is no middle ground or any room to compromise. Either God has spoken to us or He hasn’t.
God is inseparable from His truth. One does not exist without the other. Unfortunately, the “god” that the world has accepted is not the God of the Bible. God is being transformed and reduced to a modern multicultural, new-age, all-inclusive, spiritualistic, pro-LGBT+ guru who does not judge people, does not punish sin, does not believe in hell, and who will ultimately save all people, whether they choose Him or not.
If people can twist the Bible to make it appear that it supports homosexuality, then the Bible can be twisted to say anything, including that Sunday is sacred, that the soul is immortal, that idols should be worshipped, and a host of other errors. And once we start denying clear biblical truth, pretty much everything else goes. The truth of God is then replaced with errors because we do not stop believing; we continue believing, but biblical faith is exchanged with the doctrines of devils:
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” 1 Timothy 4:1.
Today some have diluted and watered down the faith into an unsavory, wishy-washy version of Adventism. Are we going to obey the dictates of radical, secular, globalist organizations like the United Nations and Vatican and proclaim their corrupt, counterfeit gospel? Or are we going to obey God and proclaim the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus?
Our only safe course is to believe in and obey the Word of the Lord. The future of Adventism must be grounded in an understanding of the authority of the Holy Scriptures. Divine revelation needs to always be the final authority. It must supersede church policy, popular culture, and people’s feelings. We must always “speak the truth in love.” (Ephesians 4:15).
“Deal faithfully with wrong-doing. Warn every soul that is in danger. Leave none to deceive themselves. Call sin by its right name. Declare what God has said in regard to lying, Sabbath-breaking, stealing, idolatry, and every other evil. ‘They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.’ [Galatians 5:21.] If they persist in sin, the judgment you have declared from God’s word is pronounced upon them in heaven. In choosing to sin, they disown Christ; the church must show that she does not sanction their deeds, or she herself dishonors her Lord. She must say about sin what God says about it. She must deal with it as God directs, and her action is ratified in heaven. He who despises the authority of the church, despises the authority of Christ Himself” (Gospel Workers, p. 502).

I’ve just emailed both trustees. This kind of evilness has got to stop in our churches and institutions. I also forwarded to everyone i know so they can do the same. I hope others have forwarded it also.

I love Jesus and so I will honor and serve Him. God shut down Sodom and Gomorrah and He will do likewise to all sinners when He returns. Let’s us be watchful and wait.

It might be good to fact check your stories before you publish them. Otherwise you might end up looking silly. Spreading false news is also a sin last time I checked the 10 Commandments.

This is not biblical.

These events shouldn’t be held in our churches. Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY . . . CAN THIS BE TRUE?
Sally says
A pastor and church secretary at La Sierra University Church assured me that this was NOT in the church or campus. And that they were just accommodating one member of the church. My main concern are the students who might be influenced by this un-godly behavior. Please let us know that your church cancelled the event this weekend.

I grew up in this church. I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now. My parents both worked at the University. And I taught at the high school. Lived my first 24 years in this town. what a joke. Before they were legalistic and now they are indulgent and decadent. it looks as if they indeed, while straining at gnats, have swallowed a giant camel. At least they taught me this while I was there: “By their fruits shall ye know them.” Never thought it would have that connotation!
Sally says
Preston – take heart, be courageous in the Lord. Find another church where you are welcomed. Don’t let the sins of this church dissuade your faith. I am praying for you.
Molly says
Preston – do not be discouraged. There are many other churches such as Crosswalk that you can go to where you won’t find the hypocrisy. I will be praying for you to find the right place to worship.
