Protestants and Catholics are moving closer to promoting greater Christian unity and healing their long-standing differences. Catholic Culture, an online news website, is celebrating this effort and urging Protestants to come home even though these religious communions differ in their views on the role of Scripture, the Pope, the Virgin Mary, the saints, and a host of other issues.
Nevertheless, Rome is moving quickly to unite all Protestant churches despite these opposing doctrinal positions. Their aim is to create a shared Eucharistic intercommunion in which all families of different denominations can eat the same bread and drink from the same cup—the cup of Rome (Revelation 17:5).
Catholic Culture published the following on October 18, 2024:
• “For some of my Protestant friends, though, to say the very date “October 31st” out loud, well, them’s fightin’ words. October 31st is Reformation Day. The date on which they celebrate Martin Luther saving the Gospel from the corrupt institution that hid it away from its deprived members.” [1]
• “Now, I fight for a living. But when it comes to Evangelical Protestants, I’m a lover, not a fighter. And what I want to say to my Evangelical friends, whom I love, is this. The Reformation is over. Come home.” [1]
• “It was the great Peter Kreeft, an author beloved by Catholics and Evangelicals alike, who said so in his remarkable little book, “Catholics and Protestants: What Can We Learn from Each Other?” Perhaps not coincidentally, Kreeft’s book was published in 2017, the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.” [1]
• “This is why Kreeft quotes the Protestant writer George Marsden, who first declared ‘the Reformation is over’.” [1]
• “The secret of true—not false—ecumenical progress, says Kreeft, is that ‘we love each other’s faith in Christ’.” [1]
• “For my part, I hope Evangelicals celebrate this upcoming Reformation Day by declaring, with Peter Kreeft and George Marsden, that the Reformation is over. And that they are coming home to the Catholic Church. Imagine the jolt it would give our culture if we at least moved closer to one another.” [1]
After centuries of enmity, the divisions between Protestants and Catholics are finally being healed today. Through ecumenical dialogue, mutual respect, and joint collaboration on social issues such as caring for the poor and disaster relief, Protestants and Catholics have finally reconciled the broken bonds and are moving towards a joint spiritual partnership. This is the fulfillment of the following declaration:
“The Roman Church is far-reaching in her plans and modes of operation. She is employing every device to extend her influence and increase her power in preparation for a fierce and determined conflict to regain control of the world, to reestablish persecution, and to undo all that Protestantism has done” (The Great Controversy, 565).
The Counter-Reformation started as soon as the Reformation began in order to respond to the rise of the Protestant Church throughout Europe. The purpose of the Counter-Reformation was to “undo all that Protestantism has done” by stopping the protest and bringing the Protestants back to the fold of Rome. This mission is being accomplished today.
There is hardly any protest any more among the churches that call themselves Protestant. Most Protestants have sold out and are returning en masse to Rome. We are told that the time has come to throw off the old condemnations. The papacy is no longer the antichrist. We are now brothers in Christ, and God wants us to live together in peace and unity—is the popular message today.
The truth is that the Reformation is far from over, as the need to stand against the distortions of truth by an apostate Christianity has become even more urgent in these last days. While the ecumenical movement seeks to unite all Christians, often under the banner of compromise, the reality is that Rome has not changed its core doctrines, which contradict many of the Bible’s teachings. Roman Catholics continue to promote traditions and human authority above the Word of God, positioning themselves as the main opponent against divine truth. Therefore, God calls on all faithful Christians to speak boldly, as the Reformers once did, and expose error while pointing people back to the purity of the Gospel.
In these times of increasing spiritual deception, we must uphold the truth of God’s Word and remain steadfast in proclaiming His everlasting gospel, untainted by the compromises of false unity.
“The papacy is just what prophecy declared that she would be, the apostasy of the latter times. 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4. It is a part of her policy to assume the character which will best accomplish her purpose; but beneath the variable appearance of the chameleon she conceals the invariable venom of the serpent” (Great Controversy, p. 571).

Br. Marcus says
What do all Christian faiths have in common?
The Trinity. An amalgamation of 3 beings in 1.
The Seventh-Day Advent faith has compromised much since the passing of the Pioneers. Rules have been broken within the organization. Overwritten for the betterment of the corporation. And now we see it paraded without shame with the treatment of its own members.
When the pandemic hit the world, members of religious faith sought the counsel of their respective spiritual leaders. Within the SDA church, the leaders left their flock without shelter. They weighed in the balances of financial gains how the government could enrich their medical institutions vs what their members sitting in the pews could contribute. Because of their decision, many Adventist were denied the religious exemption they sought from the church they revered, maybe even above the scriptures themselves.
Now we see it exposed more publicly with the affairs of Conrad Vine and Village Church.
The SAME treatment that they are giving him over the freedom of conscience. The freedom to read scripture and believe that what it says is true (in his case, that the body is the temple of God and we should abstain from experimental drugs) is the SAME treatment believers of the Father and Son Truth have been experiencing for the past decade.
No committees. No church votes. 24 hours to vacate positions within the church because we believe the record given in scripture that Jesus is the literal Son of God.
I pray that this opens the eyes of Gods people that Babylon has fallen. Seeing it was raised to a lofty position only to drink of the apostasies of Babylon, bringing in its false doctrines, which is not limited to but includes, like the Trinity.
Pray for the church in fasting and supplication. Like Daniel!
Be prepared to leave the church for salvation is found not in the organization but in the Son of God, the Christ Jesus. Let HIS spirit dwell in you and be the hope of glory, not some other spirit who knows not the infirmities of the human condition.
Jesus is God like his Father. They are one in purpose and in nature but are different In persons. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ which was shed on humanity at Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father through the Son to us. They shall abide in us. Jesus shall come and be are comforter. Amen

It is an error to leave the church. The wheat must grow with the tares.
I know that the Lord loves His church. It is not to be disorganized or broken up into independent atoms. There is not the least consistency in this; there is not the least evidence that such a thing will be.—Selected Messages 2:63, 68, 69 (1893).
The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall. It remains, while the sinners in Zion will be sifted out—the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place.—Selected Messages 2:380 (1886).

The Church & the General Conference Corporation (“GC”) are two completely different entities.
I haven’t had anything to do with a GC church for over 21yrs (I follow the independents) & have been drafting a request to have my name removed from membership in the GC due mostly to their actions during “Covid” & now with their other shenanigans. I also accepted the One True God truth & feel that I cannot belong to the GC any longer. The SDA pioneers did not believe in or teach a trinity, it was sneaked in after the original members died off. The GC brought in changes as per Ellen White’s warning; God’s Church remains the same.
We do not need to be a member of any organization, especially when they act so grandiose & believe that THEY are the Church (they are not). John the Baptist & Jesus were independent… did the disciples/apostles need Pharisee approval to spread the Gospel. Oh yeah, the GC shipped Ellen White off to Australia so they could do what they wanted.
I do not want to be associated with them & have their pronouncements include me when they say something “on behalf of all members”. The GC seems to have made themselves the Church.

No! The Reformation is not over and this why we still Protest. We do not have anything in common with Rome, and the eucharist is not a bridge between Protestants and Rome for there are no similarities. Communion as it is in the Word of God points to Christ’s perfect life, His death and resurrection which is the center of the Plan of Salvation and executed in the Heavenly Sanctuary. However, the eucharist destroys Christ and His sinless sacrifice and tramples upon it. It removes Christ Jesus as the only Savior for the fallen human race and places man in His place. This is why the eucharist is being pushed as the bridge for unity between Protestants and Roman papacy: 1 Rome’s motive is to turn our worship away from God to themselves, 2 satan’s motive is to completely separate man from God by removing the only way to Salvation, through Christ Jesus.
“9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? 14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. ”
Daniel 8:9-14 KJV
“3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. ”
Titus 3:3-7 KJV

Very true, the Reformation isn’t over at all. The Protestant world surrendered. They changed, the papacy didn’t change at all.
Mellythia says
Pope Francis has been quoted as saying that the Protestant reformation ended in 1999 when the Lutherans signed the JDDJ. That was when the harlot was sealed with the title of “MOTHER”. Revelation 17 says that this would happen in the reign of the Sixth king of verse 10, the one who “is” alive in the vision.
So isn’t it peculiar that Pope John Paul II was reigning when that ecumenical agreement was signed, and that JPII was the sixth pope since they regained their seat within the seven hills of Rome. This perfectly explains the prophecy yet contemporary pastors reject this perfect fulfillment.
We are now in the reign of the eighth pope after the Lateran treaty.
Pope Francis the Jesuit Corpse (perende ac CADAVER of Matthew 24:28) is the eighth king. The last pope is calling the world back to their so called MOTHER yet the church cannot see it.
This is terrifying.
Wilson says
For all that complies with mandates, church creeds (28 fundamental beliefs), authorities of men, yes the protest is over.
But for those that love the Lord, love the truth, no, the protest is not over.
“It has been some years since I have considered the General Conference as the voice of God.” (GCDB February 24, 1899)
At times, when a small group of men entrusted with the general management of the work have, in the name of the General Conference, sought to carry out unwise plans and to restrict God’s work, I have said that I could no longer regard the voice of the General Conference, represented by these few men, as the voice of God. But this is not saying that the decisions of a General Conference composed of an assembly of duly appointed, representative men from all parts of the field should not be respected. God has ordained that the representatives of His church from all parts of the earth, when assembled in a General Conference, shall have authority. The error that some are in danger of committing is in giving to the mind and judgment of one man, or of a small group of men, the full measure of authority and influence that God has vested in His church in the judgment and voice of the General Conference assembled to plan for the prosperity and advancement of His work. (9T 260)
That these men should stand in a sacred place, to be as the voice of God to the people, as we once believed the General Conference to be,—that is past. What we want now is a reorganization. We want to begin at the foundation, and to build upon a different principle. (GCB April 3, 1901)
