On June 29, 2022, Jesuit Cardinal Jean-Claude Hellerich, President of the Commission of the Conferences of Catholic Bishops of the European Union (COMECE), and Christian Krieger, President of the Conference of European Churches (CEC), met with the President and Vice President of the European Parliament, one of the European Union’s legislative bodies, to discuss the future of Europe. COMECE is a Roman Catholic organization comprised of 29 bishops dedicated to representing the Vatican’s political interests in the European Union. [1] The CEC is a community of 114 Orthodox, Evangelical, Protestant, and Anglican churches [2], as well as 24 National Councils of Churches [3] and 17 Associated Organizations [4] from all over Europe, who work together to promote dialogue, advocacy, common witness, and peace.
These two Catholic and Protestant presidents represent the two largest and most influential Catholic and Protestant organizations in Europe. They both met with Roberta Metsola and Othmar Karas, the President and Vice President of the European Parliament, to discuss the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the refugee crisis and the “role of the churches and religious communities.” [5] They also spoke of establishing a “European Council of Religious Leaders” to “enhance” relations between churches and EU institutions. COMECE reported the following:
“Both Cardinal Hollerich and Rev. Krieger underlined the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue and interaction with EU institutions, in line with Article 17 of the TFEU, which, according to COMECE and CEC, ‘should be content-based and effectively address key points of priority EU initiatives.’ ‘We are grateful for a very warm welcome and an open exchange with President Metsola, where she listened to us intently,’ said CEC President Rev. Krieger. ‘All in all, it was a meeting that honors the spirit of an open dialogue provided for Churches and faith communities in Article 17 TFEU.’ In this context, the delegation introduced the idea of establishing a ‘Council of European Religions and Religious Leaders’ to enhance the dialogue between faith communities and the EU institutions. President Metsola was invited to open the Council’s first meeting that is envisaged to take place in November 2022.” [5]
It is quite worrying when the top leaders of the European Parliament, the most powerful and influential legislative body in Europe, pledge to work with Catholic and Protestant churches to “enhance” relationships between church and state. One thing is certain: this is all about promoting Rome’s policies among European leaders. How do we know?
Here is Pope Francis in the Vatican with Christian Krieger, President of the CEC, and the Jesuit Cardinal Jean-Claude Hellerich, President of the COMECE. What were these two leaders doing in the Vatican? The Vatican released a report on a new joint statement signed by the COMECE and the CEC titled “Let us stay together” and spoke of a “renewed commitment” and “solidarity” in the face of the “coronavirus pandemic.” [6]
Not only did these two presidents sign a “solidarity” document representing Catholics and Protestants, but they also traveled to the Vatican to receive the Pope’s blessing. The entire religious and political world is congregating in Rome to coordinate their operations with the Pope as predicted in Bible prophecy:
“These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Revelation 17:13.
We are witnessing the literal fulfillment of the prophecies made in the book of Revelation. We are seeing the confederation of church and state as the antichrist attempts to implement a global socialist agenda. These are the scenes that will be revealed just before Jesus returns in the clouds if heaven:
“And power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him [beast], whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the earth” Revelation 13:7, 8.
These verses describe the consolidation of politics and worship, and we are witnessing these forces joining with Rome as they seek to establish peace and unity. The great beast power of Revelation will bring everyone together. Whether through ecumenism, through man-made or natural disasters, or by a future Sunday law, Rome wants everyone to be on her side. One thing is certain: this call for unity is being accelerated by the Vatican.
“The professed Protestant world will form a confederacy with the man of sin, and the church and the world will be in corrupt harmony” (Last Day Events, p. 130).
Our world is changing rapidly, and those who conspire to implement tyranny would love to keep God’s people distracted or silenced so that the third angel’s message is not shared. The good news is that during this time of crisis, God is still in control! He will work in a supernatural way so that His faithful people can fulfill their divinely appointed work:
“The opposition of the enemies of truth will be restrained that the third angel’s message may do its work” (Great Controversy, p. 610).
“The bulwarks of Satan will never triumph. Victory will attend the third angel’s message. As the Captain of the Lord’s host tore down the walls of Jericho, so will the Lord’s commandment-keeping people triumph, and all opposing elements be defeated” (Testimonies to Ministers, 410).
