“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” 1 Timothy 1:4.
Instead of influencing the culture with the gospel, the church is being adapted to imitate our world. There is a phenomenon that is sweeping Seventh-day Adventist institutions with worldly music and dancing. The above video comes from Bobbili Seventh-day Adventist High School located in Andhra Pradesh, India and was uploaded by the school’s principal, J David Mark. This institution is listed in the Seventh-day Adventist yearbook [1] and is hosting performances that are similar to what you would see at worldly R&B, hip-hop or rap concerts.
But what is actually taking place in our institutions is worse than what the world does because this so-called “Christian” school professes righteousness and invokes the name of God, but their shows are no different than what the world does. When you mix sound with lighting and dancing you are manipulating people because music is powerful. This is a crowd-control technique to arouse the senses and create excitement. The masses are brought under control through music – one of Satan’s most effective tools to “deceive the very elect.” Matt. 24:24.
“There is great power in music” (Manuscript Release, Vol. 5, p. 197).
“Satan will make music a snare by the way in which it is conducted. God calls upon His people, who have the light before them in the Word and in the Testimonies, to read and consider, and to take heed.” ( Selected Messages, Vol. 2, p. 38).
“A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit’s working” (Selected Messages, Vol. 2, p. 36).
The world has made itself comfortable in the church through secular music and dancing. This truly is a revival – but not a revival of godliness or truth. It’s a revival of the paganism and dancing that was seen among ancient Israel at the golden calf. It’s a revival of the same jumping and dancing that was used by the priests on Mt. Carmel in their worship to Baal. This is all part of a plan to make of none effect the Three Angels’ Message:
“I felt greatly distressed. I was instructed to say that at these demonstrations demons in the form of men are present, working with all the ingenuity that Satan can employ to make the truth disgusting to sensible people; that the enemy was trying to arrange matters so that the camp meetings, which have been the means of bringing the truth of the third angel’s message before multitudes, should lose their force and influence” (Selected Messages, Vol. 2, p. 37).
The leaders of our institutions are failing in their pastoral duties and deserve to be held accountable. They must act prudently and avoid creating scandals by promoting blasphemous behavior. Unfortunately, today we measure the success of our institutions by enrollment numbers, tuition fees and FUN! Today many church members want the feeling of fulfillment found in Christ but without any doctrine, discipline, obedience or sacrifice. Today we want to be disciples of Jesus on our own terms. We want “our” religion to be relaxing, cool, convenient and personalized.
This is the gospel according to the world. It doesn’t offend anyone and makes everyone happy. It embraces everything except the cross of Christ that demands sacrifice. The true gospel of Christ will not make you famous or liked by the world. The Christian life will cause the world to reject us. We will be insulted and attacked:
“Not in the ways of ease, of earthly honor or worldly conformity, are the followers of the Master found. They are far in advance, in the paths of toil, and humiliation, and reproach, in the front of the battle ‘against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.’ Ephesians 6:12. And now, as in Christ’s day, they are misunderstood and reproached and oppressed by the priests and Pharisees of their time” (Desire of Ages, p. 509).
The real tragedy is seeing how the students are being led to believe that this kind of worldly dancing is part of Adventism. The school administration not only held this event at a Seventh-day Adventist institution but promoted it on YouTube by uploading the video. They should all get jobs at the local disco and organize dances for the world instead of bringing all this into the church. Jesus said that it is better to tie a millstone around the neck of these adults and cast them into the sea than to scandalize these young ones (Matthew 18:6).

Sharon says
Where are these kids parents?? This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen come out of one of our schools. If the parents don’t rise up and speak out against this blasphemy then there is something serious wrong.
Jon says
Dear sister Sharon
The parents must have been in the audience recording on their phones and feeling very proud
Not shocking at all
Nothing new
Been going on for decades
What is sad is that many of these children might not be sea’s
And this is what they will learn from so called sda schools
Jon says
SDA’s
Not seas
Auto correct
LINDA TAYLOR says
The principal should be fired! I suppose since these kids are wearing bagging shirts and pants, that their gyro’s can be dismissed. Ellen White would turn over in her grave if she witnessed this. How sad, that a whole generation of young people are going to be lost because they want “to be like the world”.
Jon says
Dear sister linda she wouldn’t turn in her grave because she prophesied this
I have read a prophesy
Where she wrote as if she was present in India and had observed this
Jon says
You would have to fire almost all the principals of these so called SDA schoolsthey don’t see anything wrong in all this
Do you know why they don’t “SEE ” anything Wong
KJV Revelation 3:17-18
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Because they are blind
David says
“Every uncouth thing” comes to mind… Are we living at the end of time, or what?
Bryant H Waddell says
The SDA ship (Church) hasn’t just sprung a leak in the Sea of Worldliness…Its been torpedoed and is sinking!
Jon says
I am afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them in the heart of the youth.
Martin Luther
The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. – Ed 57.3
But such a character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. A noble character is the result of self-discipline, of the subjection of the lower to the higher nature—the surrender of self for the service of love to God and man. – Ed 57.4
The youth need to be impressed with the truth that their endowments are not their own. Strength, time, intellect, are but lent treasures. They belong to God, and it should be the resolve of every youth to put them to the highest use. He is a branch, from which God expects fruit; a steward, whose capital must yield increase; a light, to illuminate the world’s darkness. – Ed 57.5
Now is the time for God’s people to show themselves true to principle. When the religion of Christ is most held in contempt, when his law is most despised, then should our zeal be the warmest and our courage the most unflinching. To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us, to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few,—this will be our test. At this time we must gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from their cowardice, and loyalty from their treason. The nation will be on the side of the great rebel leader. – RH January 11, 1887
