HopeMedia Italia is the official communication agency of the Italian Union of Seventh-day Adventist Churches. On January 30, 2025, Sara Civerchia, a member of the HopeMedia Italia editorial team, published the news of the meeting between young Roman Catholics and Seventh-day Adventists. She revealed that Adventists had been seeking this ecumenical encounter for some time and were grateful to Catholics for agreeing to meet. This event was then widely disseminated through our official church publication to all Adventists about how fruitful this meeting was and how it should serve as an example of Christian unity in fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer.
Sara Civerchia posted the following in HopeMedia Italia:
• “Last January 26, the young people, 22-35 years old, and the Compagnon, 16-21 years old, of the Adventist church of Jesi met with their Catholic peers belonging to a parish in Ancona.” [1]
• “I had been trying to organize a meeting like this for months and, when they responded positively, I was really happy, but at the same time worried about the outcome. The fear was mainly linked to the fact that delicate discussions could arise between the young people. Instead, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed atmosphere that was created, made of friendship, cordiality and mutual respect, and above all animated by the curiosity to know the differences between our religious faiths. It was a positive experience also for us less young ones who accompanied the young people.” [1]
• “While the young people divided into groups to discuss the importance of being Christians in today’s society, we, the chaperones, also formed a reflection group on the same topic, sharing opinions and experiences that made us feel truly more united in faith.” [1]
• “Personally, I was very surprised by what the parish priest, Don Samuele, said. In fact, he initially stated how important it is today to have a different horizon, that is, to know that we are waiting for the return of Christ, that we are waiting for the new heavens and the new earth, it changes our perspective on life, it gives us a hope that the world does not offer. Furthermore, he noted that the meeting we were protagonists of would have been unthinkable 50 years ago, and anyone who had promoted such an initiative would have been “excommunicated” even before realizing it. It is wonderful to see how many things have changed over the years.” [1]
• “It was a constructive and interesting initiative, not only for the children, but also for all of us present at the evening. We saw the text of John 17:21-23 realized, in which Jesus says: “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” [1]
This is not a fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer for unity, but rather a sign that the Beast of Revelation 13 and 17 is uniting the entire world under his authority.
“And all the world wondered after the beast.” Revelation 13:3.
“And power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him.” Revelation 13:7, 8.
“These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Revelation 17:13.
“For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.” Revelation 17:17.
HopeMedia Italia, an ecclesiastical entity of the Italian Union of Seventh-day Adventist Churches, is publicly declaring that it is in tune with Rome’s call for unity and solidarity. They are also indoctrinating our Adventist members that we are all one—equal—no matter what each church believes.
Adventists in Italy are reaching out to Roman Catholics to promote common ground and mutual respect and to experience a “more unified faith,” even though the Three Angels’ Message warns against the beast and its image and calls us to come out of her. The goal of this interfaith engagement with Rome was to achieve healing and reconciliation, as well as to end the divisions in the “body of Christ.”
This is not Adventism. This is not true Protestantism. And it is certainly not apostolic Christianity. This is the wine of Babylon, straight from the harlot’s cup of indignation. That’s what Pope Francis is praying and hoping for. It is a fulfillment of Rome’s plan to neutralize the warning messages that God wants to go to the world.
One of the most terrifying and inexplicable challenges facing Adventism today is the utter silence on the part of those who should be speaking out loud and clear. It is unconscionable and disturbing to know that some ministers and watchmen would actually suppress our message for the sake of joining up with Rome in interfaith worship. Why? Because the Remnant church of Bible prophecy exists in this period of earth’s history for one purpose: to give the last invitation of mercy to our dying world.
“The Lord gives a special truth for the people in an emergency. Who dare refuse to publish it? He commands his servants to present the last invitation of mercy to the world. They cannot remain silent, except at the peril of their souls.” (Great Controversy, 609).
It is a contradiction to join with the other churches by quoting the words of Jesus in His prayer for unity. The problem is that Jesus never did what our people in Italy are doing today:
“Jesus Himself never purchased peace by compromise. His heart overflowed with love for the whole human race, but He was never indulgent to their sins. He was too much their friend to remain silent while they were pursuing a course that would ruin their souls” (Desire of Ages, 356).
Jesus didn’t remain silent, and we today have an end-time, present truth message that has been ordained by God to be given to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. Have our lives on planet Earth become so comfortable and our institutions so prosperous that we will instead purchase peace at the cost of our silence? God forbid!
Who benefits today from our silence? Who stands to gain the most when we diminish nearly every word from the Three Angels’ Message? Who wins when Bible truth and Reformation history are replaced with ecumenism and common ground with Rome? The Vatican wins, and her objective is complete.
“Let not those who have the truth as it is in Jesus give sanction, even by their silence, to the work of the mystery of iniquity. Let them never cease to sound the note of alarm. Let the education and training of the members of our churches be such that the children and youth among us shall understand there are to be no concessions to this power, the man of sin. Teach them that although the time will come when we can wage the war only at the risk of property and liberty, yet the conflict must be met, in the spirit and meekness of Christ; the truth is to be maintained and advocated as it is in Jesus. Wealth, honor, comfort, home,—everything else,—is to be a secondary consideration. The truth must not be hid, it must not be denied or disguised, but fully avowed, and boldly proclaimed” (General Conference Daily Bulletin, April 19, 1891).

“She revealed that Adventists had been seeking this ecumenical encounter for some time and were grateful to Catholics for agreeing to meet. ”
This reminded me of when Dr Darius Jankiewicz was sending his Andrews University students to observe Catholic Mass and afterwards speak with Catholics their or a RC priest for an hour afterwards about their faith….(3rd angel message forbidden)
We are 💯% living in the New order time That the SOP warned of.
“One of the most terrifying and inexplicable challenges facing Adventism today is the utter silence on the part of those who should be speaking out loud and clear.”
This is true and it was prophesied:
The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall. It remains, while the sinners in Zion will be sifted out—the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place.—Selected Messages 2:380 (1886). LDE 180.5
And to those who, shocked and appalled by the apostasy, would consider leaving the SDA church, Inspiration says:
I know that the Lord loves His church. It is not to be disorganized or broken up into independent atoms. LDE 51.3
I tell you, my brethren, the Lord has an organized body through whom He will work…. When anyone is drawing apart from the organized body of God’s commandment-keeping people, when he begins to weigh the church in his human scales and begins to pronounce judgment against them, then you may know that God is not leading him. He is on the wrong track.—Selected Messages 3:17, 18 (1893). LDE 51.4
And thank you Brother Andy for reminding us that we are not to remain silent but to sound the alarm, even if we are met with unbelief.
