Our children are under attack. They suffer from attention spans, learning deficiencies, anxiety, stress, temper tantrums, lack of interactive communication skills, cyber-bullying, false sense of reality, privacy issues, decreased- productivity, epidemic obesity, aggression, insomnia, family neglect and boredom.
A mass-shooting was averted this week at a Florida middle-school by a 13-year-old child who was suffering from “depression” and by another 14-year-old who was simply bored. These kids had access to guns in their homes and were planning a shooting spree during school hours. A lot of planning was put into the plot and some school kids were warned not to come to school on a certain pre-planned day. Luckily some school kids spoke up and the mass-shooting was averted.
Why do 13 and 14 year-old kids choose to become mass murderers? How can children, with no remorse, meticulously plan the brutal massacre of innocent classmates. They weren’t being bullied or mistreated or singled out at school. They weren’t being abandoned or abused at home. They weren’t on drugs or alcohol. However, their minds were completely disconnected from reality.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.” 2 Timothy 3:1-2.
We are certainly living in the “last days” spoken of by the Scriptures. Jesus is coming soon because our world is rapidly deteriorating. Parents must be careful on what they allow the minds of their children to absorb. They must be taught the ways of God.
“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7.
