What relationship does climate change and full “ecclesial communion” have with each other? Absolutely nothing. According to Pope Francis they are intricately connected. This was the message that Pope Francis emphasized on October 7, 2021 during a meeting with the Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew and Audrey Azoulay, Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). [1] The Pope’s vision for the world is to unite education, sustainability and ecumenism in his new “integral ecology.” And all those who do not defend his vision of our “common home” are threatening the “very life of the planet” with their “wicked actions.” [1]
Pope Francis expressed these sentiments and once again referred political and religious leaders to his encyclical on climate change, Laudato Si’. The Pope said that it is not enough to protect the air, water or climate because “there is no ecology without an adequate anthropology” (Laudato Si’ #118). He went on to say that without addressing human relationships there could be no true “integral ecology” but instead we would only be creating “a new imbalance, which not only will not solve the problems, but will add others” (Laudato Si’ #118). That is why Pope Francs expressed that our “journey towards full ecclesial communion” must be included in our commitment to each other.
Pope Francis stated that “the harm we are causing to the planet is no longer limited to damage to the climate, water and soil, but now threatens life itself on earth.” For this reason, the Pope continued, we must “guard our common home, to preserve it from wicked actions, perhaps inspired by politics, an economy, and training linked to immediate results, for the benefit of a few.” [1]
The true evil in our world comes from political leaders who legislate sin and from religious leaders who have freed men and women from the obligation of God’s moral law. That’s where wickedness comes from and not through ideological discourses about an integral ecology. Ecological sins do not exist in the entire Bible. These are concepts that are completely foreign to divine revelation. All of this is just a distraction to ignore the real problems in our world and to remove the guilt of the churches for neglecting their Christian duty:
“Those who teach the people to lightly regard the commandments of God, sow disobedience, to reap disobedience. Let the restraint imposed by the divine law be wholly cast aside, and human laws would soon be disregarded” (Great Controversy, p. 585).
“Would we know the result of making void the law of God? The experiment has been tried. Terrible were the scenes enacted in France when atheism became the controlling power. It was then demonstrated to the world that to throw off the restraints which God has imposed is to accept the rule of the cruelest of tyrants. When the standard of righteousness is set aside, the way is open for the prince of evil to establish his power in the earth. Wherever the divine precepts are rejected, sin ceases to appear sinful, or righteousness desirable … Already the doctrine that men are released from obedience to God’s requirements has weakened the force of moral obligation, and opened the flood-gates of iniquity upon the world. Lawlessness, dissipation, and corruption are sweeping in upon us like an overwhelming tide” (Great Controversy, pp. 584, 585).
Our churches must not become entangled in ecological propaganda, but should focus on the mission that Christ gave us. Instead, the world is being led into grave errors and pagan heresies. This is causing people to embrace Sunday as the solution to the climate crisis. Instead of more reflection and study of the Bible, so-called church leaders have left God behind by exalting climate ideologies above the true Christian faith. Wickedness is sin and sin is defined in the word of God. And since there is no reference to any ecological sins, this means that the Pope’s climate change agenda falls into the category of a man-made tradition.
“But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:9.
Not only is Pope Francis pushing his environmental policy on the churches, he is also demanding that secular governments around the world pass important laws on climate change and punish violators for their “wicked actions.” This is the reason for raising the rhetoric ahead of COP26. The Pope wants his ambitious climate goals contained in Laudato Si’ to be presented to the world in Glasgow in November as our new ecological laws. Instead of caring more for the souls of lost sinners, which is why the church was ordained by God, too many want to focus entirely on saving the planet.
“Now, as in Christ’s day, the work of God’s kingdom lies not with those who are clamoring for recognition and support by earthly rulers and human laws, but with those who are declaring to the people in His name those spiritual truths that will work in the receivers the experience of Paul: ‘I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.’ Galatians 2:20. Then they will labor as did Paul for the benefit of men. He said, ‘Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.’ 2 Corinthians 5:20.” (Desire of Ages, p. 510).

I am sure the first call Biden makes every day is to the pope, so he can get his marching orders! Biden is going to have a lot of blood on his hands when the Lord comes back, letting all the gangs and cartels and drugs into this country. No priest or pope is going to be able to save him then! It amuses me that the catholic church is so against abortion, yet, after a person is born, he/she can be murdered as a heretic. We are so close to going home. Come, Lord Jesus!!!
