There are a variety of reasons why Christianity is losing its biblical identity and slipping towards relativism. One of the primary causes is that churches are adopting the pagan ideologies of ecumenism and interfaith worship, which undermine the necessity of proclaiming objective truth. Christianity is being blended with secular beliefs, and Rome is leading in this effort. Tragically, this leads to a de-emphasis on morality, sin, and the need to assist people in discovering the truth.
On July 25, 2022, Pope Francis met with indigenous people at the Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples, a Roman Catholic church in Edmonton, Alberta. During this meeting, it became obvious why Pope Francis went to Canada. The Pope’s trip was simply a big show to promote Catholicism and his mission of uniting everyone.

Under the close watch of the media, Pope Francis bowed and prayed before the idol of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, the patron saint of Native Americans and protector of Canada. [1] All this was done according to a plan. During this reconciliation ceremony with indigenous people, the Pope also blessed the graven image, encouraging the world to trust in idols that cannot help anyone.
“Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.” Psalm 115:2-9.
Pope Francis also made a point of continuing to promote the universal brotherhood that he is building in our world. The Pope stated the following:
• This place is a house for all, open and inclusive, just as the Church should be, for it is the family of the children of God, where hospitality and welcome, typical values of the indigenous culture, are essential. [2]
• You, my dear indigenous brothers and sisters, have much to teach us about the symbolism and vital meaning of the tree. Joined to the earth by its roots, a tree gives oxygen through its leaves and nourishes us by its fruit. It is impressive to see how the symbolism of the tree is reflected in the architecture of this church, where a tree trunk symbolically unites the earth below and the altar on which Jesus reconciles us in the Eucharist in “an act of cosmic love” that “joins heaven and earth, embracing all creation” (Laudato Si’, 236). [2]
• Christ reconciles and brings back together everything that seemed unthinkable and unforgivable; he embraces everyone and everything. Everyone and everything! [2]
• The indigenous peoples attribute a powerful cosmic significance to the cardinal points … as embodied by the so-called “medicine wheel”. This church appropriates that symbolism of the cardinal points and gives it a Christological meaning. [2]
• We look one another in the eye, accept the other’s history and culture, and allow the mystique of togetherness, so pleasing to the Holy Spirit, to foster the healing of wounded memories. This is the way: not to decide for others, not to pigeonhole everyone within our preconceived categories, but to place ourselves before the crucified Lord and before our brothers and sisters, in order to learn how to walk together. [2]
• That is what the Church is, and should always be – the place where reality is always superior to ideas. That is what the Church is, and always should be – not a set of ideas and precepts to drill into people; the Church is a welcoming home for everyone! That is what the Church is, and ever should be: a building with doors always open. [2]
All of Pope Francis’ assertions are just false. These ecumenical statements violate God’s plain truth. The Pope’s speech promoted the concept that all religions and gods share the same common values. Pope Francis thinks that we must all unite as one since all religions contain truth and must be accepted.
This is the new gospel that all churches have accepted. The new message is to accept the legitimacy and validity of all belief systems. This ecumenical worldview neither supports nor opposes any religion since it embraces them all. This basically means that no single religion can provide all of God’s truth. The truths and doctrines of Christ as revealed in His Word are rendered obsolete by the Pope’s message.
Thanks to ecumenism, Christianity is being inundated with secular teachings on every side. Man-made ideas have taken over the churches. Why is this happening? What is the attraction? Why are the masses flocking to the “God-is-in-everything” philosophy? Part of the reason this teaching has become so popular is because there isn’t a lot of moral emphasis. People are free to be whatever they want to be. All are one. All are accepted. All are equal. God is in every one of them. All religious faiths are just different expressions of the same God. No one is excluded, not even witchcraft, nature worship, or Mother Earth paganism. These ecumenical initiatives are driving the world to worship at the altar of multiculturalism.
This is a fulfillment of the Bible’s prophecy about the great falling away from truth in the last days:
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1, 2.
“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:1-4.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come (second coming of Jesus), except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3.
Bible prophecy is clear. The Pope is on a mission to evangelize the world. What are we doing in this midnight hour when human probation is reaching its limit? Are we, as God’s people, fulfilling our mission? What are we doing with the Three Angels’ Message? Are we doing everything possible to save the lost and deceived for God’s kingdom? Or are we leaving them in darkness?
“Souls are in danger of falling under temptation, and they will perish unless God’s ministers are faithful to their trust. If for any reason their spiritual senses become so benumbed that they are unable to discern danger, and through their failure to give warning the people perish, God will require at their hands the blood of those who are lost” (Acts of the Apostles, p. 361).
