Embrace the lockdowns, the restrictions and the social distancing. Accept the church closures, the store closures, the hardships and the difficulties. It’s for your own good and for your spirituality, Pope Francis told a general audience in the Library of the Apostolic Palace on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. The Pope stated that the current crisis can actually lead us to live a more “religious” and “authentic” Christian life as we become less consumerist during the holiday seasons.
The following words are found under the “Greetings” section of Pope Francis’ Catechesis on Prayer for December 16, 2020:
“I cordially greet the Italian-speaking faithful. I would like to urge everyone to ‘hurry up’ towards Christmas, the real one, that is, the birth of Jesus Christ. This year, restrictions and inconveniences await us; but let’s think about the Christmas of the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph: they were not roses and flowers! How many difficulties they had! How many worries! Yet faith, hope and love guided and sustained them. May it be so for us too! Help us also – in this difficulty – to purify a little, the way of living Christmas, of celebrating, leaving behind consumerism: that it is more religious, more authentic, more true.” [1]
You see, the COVID-19 crisis is your friend, so embrace it. Well, what about the loss of civil and religious liberties? How about 60% of permanent business closures due to the coronavirus pandemic? [2] How about the increase in poverty, the devastation of our economies, the quarantines, the contact tracings, the closing of churches, the restriction of meetings for weddings, funerals and other family events, the enforcement of total or partial closures, the psychological and social impact on people and the long trail of other COVID-19 catastrophes?
According to Pope Francis, if the aggravating circumstances of the pandemic can help us overcome our “consumerism” (capitalism) and put us on the path to Marxist socialism, then the crisis is not so bad. Pope Francis’ encyclical Fratelli Tutti was born during the COVID-19 pandemic. By adopting Fratelli Tutti, our world would be on the path to one humanity, one common good, one common religion, one political socialist party, collective ownership of property and a universal income. Fratelli Tutti claims that COVID-19 has shown that capitalism is a failed system because it cannot support people during a pandemic. [3]
Ultimately, to solve the challenges facing our world, Pope Francis tells us that we need a new economy and a reset. This means replacing capitalism with socialism, radical environmentalism (Laudato Si’), one humanity (Fratelli Tutti), a new religious unity that moves beyond doctrine and finally, embracing Romanism. This will happen because Bible prophecy has stated the following:
“For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city (Rome), which reigneth over the kings of the earth.” Revelation 17:17, 18.
“Satan determines to unite them in one body and thus strengthen his cause by sweeping all into the ranks of spiritualism. Papists, who boast of miracles as a certain sign of the true church, will be readily deceived by this wonder-working power; and Protestants, having cast away the shield of truth, will also be deluded. Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium” Great Controversy, pp. 588, 589.
