Prominent GOP Strategist, Trump Advisor, and Media Executive Steve Bannon is a Devout Follower of Ignatius of Loyola’s Spiritual Exercises

We are on the verge of seeing some very radical changes in the United States. The Jesuits are celebrating that one of the most influential MAGA Republicans, Steve Bannon, who has the ear and confidence of Donald Trump, is a faithful disciple of Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order. At Turning Point Actions People’s Convention in Detroit this past Saturday, June 15, 2024, in front of a packed auditorium, Donald Trump praised Steve Bannon as a successful, intelligent, and influential person who everyone listens to, including himself.

Bannon, the former executive officer of Trump’s presidential campaign, the former chief strategist in the White House, the former head of Breitbart News Network, and the creator of the popular War Room podcast, recently spoke with Tucker Carlson. During the interview, Tucker Carlson questioned Bannon about his plans for the four months he would be spending behind bars for two counts of contempt of Congress. Carlson asked him what he was going to do to pass the time and if he planned on reading any books.

Without hesitation, Steve Bannon responded to the question with the following words:

“I have a pretty strict regiment as is, so I’ll continue on. I do a lot of spiritual exercises following St. Ignatius of Loyola—different spiritual exercises that came out of the Catholic Church” (video).

The Jesuits must be extremely proud that one of their own is so well-regarded in the upper echelons of the Republican Party and the MAGA movement. Steve Bannon just received Donald Trump’s endorsement on national television. With his incarceration, Bannon’s influence and popularity inside the party will only increase. A publicly-avowed Jesuit agent is being seen as a political prisoner, hero, and champion within the Republican establishment.

One thing is certain: Inspiration warns us that the Jesuits are master manipulators. They present a fair front to the world while conspiring behind the scenes. As God’s people, let us never forget the warnings that the Spirit of Prophecy gives concerning the ultimate objective of this religious order:

“The order of the Jesuits was created, the most cruel, unscrupulous, and powerful of all the champions of popery … Vowed to perpetual poverty and humility, it was their studied aim to secure wealth and power, to be devoted to the overthrow of Protestantism, and the re-establishment of the papal supremacy” (Great Controversy, p. 234).

This reference is a clear and resounding fulfillment of what we have been seeing over the last couple of years. With prophetic accuracy, the Spirit of Prophecy identifies the Jesuit Order as the most “powerful” of all the “champions” of the Papacy to “overthrow Protestantism” and to re-establish “papal supremacy.”

“Under various disguises the Jesuits worked their way into offices of State, climbing up to be the counselors of kings, and shaping the policy of nations … The Jesuits rapidly spread themselves over Europe, and wherever they went, there followed a revival of popery” (Great Controversy, 234).

Are we seeing the end of the U.S. Constitution and the final sell-out of all our civil and religious liberties? It is very possible. Changes are coming, strategies are being implemented, and plans are being made to undermine our long-standing values of liberty and freedom. It’s coming. There is no question about that. What we need now is for God’s people to rise up and finish the work we have been given. It’s the church that needs to fulfill its God-given role while there is still time.

“The work which the church has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity she will have to do in a terrible crisis under most discouraging, forbidding circumstances. The warnings that worldly conformity has silenced or withheld must be given under the fiercest opposition from enemies of the faith. And at that time the superficial, conservative class, whose influence has steadily retarded the progress of the work, will renounce the faith and take their stand with its avowed enemies, toward whom their sympathies have long been tending. These apostates will then manifest the most bitter enmity, doing all in their power to oppress and malign their former brethren and to excite indignation against them. This day is just before us. The members of the church will individually be tested and proved. They will be placed in circumstances where they will be forced to bear witness for the truth” (Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 463).
