Most of us are so concerned about our own lives that we are unaware that political leaders seem fully committed to dragging us into another catastrophic world war. Leaders around the world continually incite war in Ukraine and are about to cross a line that can never be uncrossed. However, since they are basically playing with fire, they won’t be the only ones who suffer if they take things too far.

This week we learned that Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO, an intergovernmental military alliance, announced this week that Ukraine will be the organization’s newest member. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if Ukraine were to join NATO, they wouldn’t even have time to blink when they carried out Article 5. In other words, there is a risk that NATO and Russia will escalate their rhetoric to the point where it sparks World War III. If they carry out their threats, there is no doubt that a global war will break out.

NATO is saying that they will expand their military alliance by accepting Ukraine into membership. This means that NATO’s power and influence would reach the border with Russia, which might lead to the stationing of NATO forces and weapons in Ukraine. Russia claims that this would be a problem that they will not tolerate. Instead of de-escalating the situation, why are world leaders agitating for more war and conflict? Why would they do this? This is a very dangerous game that will only lead to more death and destruction.
Many of us are aware that a very chaotic chapter in human history is about to begin. Although the last few years have undoubtedly been quite unprecedented, the years ahead of us will bring things to a completely new level. What we are actually witnessing are the signs of the second coming of Jesus. Numerous biblical and prophetic verses give us a glimpse into the events that will precede the glorious return of Jesus in the clouds of heaven.
“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord.” Psalm 2:1-2.
Here, with prophetic accuracy, the Bible describes the nations of the earth during the end-times as a tumultuous assembly, raging with violent commotion and with fury like the raging of the sea. Most of these acts, if not all, are described as being “against the Lord.” This means that, for the most part, the nations will be scheming to resist God’s moral law, His authority, and His plan for our lives. This is leading to all sorts of strange events, social agitations, armed conflicts, threats of war, and demonstrations that once again show how completely unsettled our world is.
“There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.” Isaiah 48:22.
As the nations marshal their forces together to wage war against their “supposed” enemies, the Bible takes our thoughts forward to the day when God will bring about the final destruction of all the enemies of Christ.
“And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.” Isaiah 2:19.
It is folly when men make threats of annihilating millions of people who are the “enemies” of our civilization. How will those who threaten the lives of so many be able to hide from the wrath of God when He rises up to shake the earth? Where will they hide and find shelter? The shaking of the earth will be a terrible ordeal to all those whose hearts and minds are set on the affections of the things of this world.
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth…When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:2, 4.
Christ is the only shelter and refuge for any sinner who wants to escape the coming judgment against sin. Jesus is the only cover from the wind, both in this life and in the life to come. Idolatry, selfishness, greed, pride, and evil will be brought down—either by the grace of Christ when we open our hearts to Him or in the great day of the Lord when He comes to end rebellion and sin. The day of the Lord will be both the most glorious day and the most awful day. Glorious to those who put their trust in Him, and terrible to those who have rejected the warnings from a loving God.
“Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD.” Proverbs 1:24-29.
The current situation, with all the talk of nuclear conflagration, is a crisis that should only awaken us to our senses. As we hear of all these terrible reports of war, murder, robberies, shootings, and tragedies, these are all indications that we need to be preparing for the second coming of the Lord.

Russia is a nuclear superpower, and has the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons. If NATO military alliance dares to cross the Kremlin redline by admitting Kyiv into this western military alliance then the world will witness devastating casatrophe? The war in Ukraine happened because of NATO Provocation because they broke 1991,agreement after the dissolution of Warsaw military pact. Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachaev and U.S president George H.W.Bush agreed that NATO won’t make an expansion not even an inch in Eastern Europe. After the exit of Gorbachaev from power and the end of Soviet Union, Russian federation became a successor to all assets of the defunct soviet state. Boris Yeltsin became the first leader of Russia and improved co-operation with U.S leader George W. Bush but unfortunately in the end of 1992,U.S presidential elections were held and Bush senior lost he lost to Democratic presidential candidate William Jefferson Bill Clinton. Later the following years during Clinton presidency he broke this agreement by allowing former warsaw members to become NATO members and this marked the beggining of NATO eastwards in central and Eastern Europe which was considered to be Russian sphere of influence. Poland , czech Republic ,Romania joined in 1999,others joined later in 2004, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania,Romania ,Slovakia, slovenia. Two countires on adriatic sea Albania and Croatia joined in April 2009. later the relations between Russia and the U.S worsened after NATO bombardment campaign in former Yugoslavia and slobodan Milosevic was prosecuted for war crimes. Russian president Boris Yeltsin angrily said has America forgotten that Russia has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world . U.S leader Bill Clinton responded and said Boris Yelstin has forgotten that America has the power to exercise it’s will anywhere in the world. Boris Yeltsin Successor, Vladimir Putin in 2007 in Munich conference , warned against NATO expansion in the Eastern Europe as unacceptable and that’s Putin made the decision to launch special military operation in Ukraine to stop NATO building military infrastructure.

Very nice history. In addition, our own CIA instituted a coup in Ukraine in 2014 and instilled Zelenskyy to be NATO’s puppet. Our neocon war-mongers would like nothing more than to enriches themselves by getting us into another war. May the Lord come soon!

Following ratification, Finland became a member of NATO on 4 April 2023. Finland has an 830 mi border with Russia, which upon accession more than doubled NATO’s pre-existing border with Russia – why isn’t Putin making the same threat because of that?
There’s something more – Ukraine was previously part of the USSR. Putin just seems more concerned about regaining Ukraine more than NATO bordering on Russia. Whatever…
We should all be more concerned that we have a close, intimate and personal relationship with Christ more than we are concerned about world politics – when we have absolutely no control over these distractions.
