For the first time in England’s history, on May 6, 2023, a Catholic Cardinal will officially pronounce a blessing on the coronation of a Protestant King. Roman Catholic bishops will also be present at the forthcoming coronation of King Charles III, according to the coronation liturgy published by the Anglican Church. Additionally, there will be joint greetings from representatives of Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhs, as well as a blessing from an Orthodox Archbishop.
The Coronation Liturgy for May 6, 2023 states the following:
- “Faith Leaders and representatives from the Jewish, Sunni and Shia Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Bahai and Zoroastrian communities will be part of the procession into Westminster Abbey.” [1]
- “This represents the multi-faith nature of our society and the importance of inclusion of other faiths whilst respecting the integrities of the different traditions.” [1]
- “The (Catholic) Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster: May God pour upon you the riches of his grace, keep you in his holy fear, prepare you for a happy eternity, and receive you at the last into immortal glory.” [1]
- “The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Thyateira & Great Britain: The Lord protect you in all your ways and prosper all your work in his name.” [1]
NEW: The King’s coronation procession will be led by The Cross of Wales and contains two shards of the True Cross – which is said to be the cross used in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The fragments were given to HM by Pope Francis to mark the royal occasion.

No matter how many other religions are present, Rome will play a significant role in King Charles’ coronation. The Catholic News Agency confirmed that Pope Francis has given King Charles two pieces of wood that were allegedly taken from the “true cross” that Jesus was crucified on. Catholic New Agency reported the following:
“Many will be watching the ceremony to witness the pomp and circumstance still found in the official functions of the British royalty. Yet, at the forefront of all that spectacle, the simple metallic cross, inlaid with relics of the wood of the true cross, testify to a lesser-known, deeply Christian aspect of the British royal tradition.” [2]
“Given that many consider the pieces of the cross among the most precious relics in all of Christendom, the pope’s gift is being seen as an incredible ecumenical sign of goodwill.” [2]
“Given that the relationship between the British crown and the Catholic Church has been rocky in ages past, Charles’ decision to place the papal gift at the forefront of his coronation ceremonies is significant.” [2]
In other words, Pope Francis’ gift will be at the forefront of the coronation of the Protestant king. The once-powerful Protestant empire is bowing to the Pope of Rome. Britain’s Protestant past is no more. Great Britain today resembles its distant, pre-Reformation, Catholic past.
We are deeply moved and grateful to Pope Francis for this extraordinary gift. Reflecting the strength of the 🇻🇦 🇬🇧 relationship that developed over the course of the reign of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth, who met 5 Popes! https://t.co/uHYyppOHCF @UKinHolySee

For more than 400 years, during these coronation rituals, British kings and queens have taken oaths to support and defend the Protestant faith. Since the Protestant Reformation in the sixteenth century, Britain has been a beacon of spiritual light for the entire world. .
Yet in just one day, May 6, 2023, those 400 years of rich history will be rejected, cast down, and “trodden under foot” (Dan. 8:13). Who has changed? Protestant Britain once rejected the Pope’s claims of infallibility and supremacy as blasphemous during the Reformation era. They broke away from Rome because of her false doctrines. And what doctrines have changed in Catholicism since then? None.
One must grasp the magnitude of what is happening before our eyes: the complete surrender of the Protestant British Empire! The rift created 400 years ago by the Protestant Reformation has now officially been closed as the King of England, the defender of the Protestant faith, makes peace with Rome. In so doing, he neglects the testimony of history and the clear teaching of the Bible. The Papacy today still claims primacy and universal supremacy as the Vicar of Christ on earth! Rome has never repudiated any of her doctrines. This is a shameful betrayal to the Protestant Reformers of England such as William Tyndale, Richard Bayfield, Hugh Latimer, and others who gave their lives to bring the Bible and gospel truths to the English people.
These Reformers are the true heroes of England, and they were martyred for refusing to accept the authority of Rome. There is absolutely no question that these men would denounce the Catholic Church’s role in the coronation of a Protestant king. If they were still alive today, they would be outraged at their countrymen for allowing this to happen.
Sadly, this is the new prevailing attitude among Protestants—no stance, no protest, and total surrender. This once-great island nation has been sold down the river. Revelation 18:3 reminds us that “all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her.” We can see the fulfillment of this prophecy.
One of the titles of King Charles III is “Defender of the Faith.” The English Coronation Oath recited by the Kings and Queens of England states that the King or Queen swears to “maintain the Protestant faith. This will be the oath made by King Charles:
“Archbishop of Canterbury: Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel? Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in the United Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law? … The King: All this I promise to do. The things which I have here before promised I will perform and keep. So help me God.” [3]
The Oath – Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in the United Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law? I Charles do solemnly and sincerely in the presence of God profess, testify, and declare that I am a faithful Protestant, and that I will, according to the true intent of the enactments which secure the Protestant succession to the Throne.” [3]
King Charles is obligated by a solemn oath to uphold the Protestant Reformed religion. As the head of state, his responsibility is to uphold the Reformation tradition alongside the British Parliament. Where is King Charles’ protest, though, despite the fact that he will swear to be a Protestant? Where is the repudiation of papal errors? Where is the disassociation with Antichrist? There aren’t any. Actually, the exact opposite of a protest is happening. Britain is embracing Rome. The King approves of Pope Francis and is fostering mutual support with Rome. Truly, Rome is on a mission to conquer Protestantism and bring the world to the feet of the Pope. This is what prophecy has declared to take place: “And all the world wondered after the beast.” Rev. 13:3.
The Protest Continues
The good news is that there are plans to keep the protest alive. There are plans to mass distribute The Great Controversy book during the coronation ceremony of King Charles. The coronation of a British monarch is a major historical event. Millions of people will watch this ceremony, which will be attended by dignitaries from all over the world. Giving out copies of the book The Great Controversy will be a great way to protest and keep spreading the final warning message. Below is one of the flyers for this important missionary project scheduled to take place on May 6, 2023, during the coronation of King Charles III.

The participation of Catholic Cardinal in British coronation ceremony is clear signal that Rome has finally infiltrated all the protestant churches all over the world and that the image of the beast has already been formed including the General conference of the Seventh day adventists. As Protestants we are supposed to uphold the protestant teachings the sola scriptula according the early protestant reformers in tradition of Martin Luther.

Jerry O'Donnell, Four Angels' Messages says
And prophecy foretells a restoration of her power. “I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed; and all the world wondered after the beast.” [Revelation 13:3.] The infliction of the deadly wound points to the abolition of the papacy in 1798. After this, says the prophet, “His deadly wound was healed; and all the world wondered after the beast.” Paul states plainly that the man of sin will continue until the second advent. [2 Thessalonians 2:8.] To the very close of time he will carry forward his work of deception. And the Revelator declares, also referring to the papacy, “All that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life.” [Revelation 13:8.] In both the Old and the New World, papacy will receive homage in the honor paid to the Sunday institution, that rests solely upon the authority of the Romish Church. {GC88 578.3}
