More than 150 faith leaders and pastors in Tennessee have signed a letter urging Governor Bill Lee to oppose the “Fetal Heartbeat Bill” (HB77). [1] [2]
This bill would protect the sanctity of life and “ban abortions in the state (Tennessee) once a fetal heartbeat has been detected. The bill only allows cases of medical emergencies as an exception to the proposed law.” [3]
Banning abortions once a heartbeat is detected is an attempt by the state of Tennessee to save the lives of countless unborn babies. This effort represents the voice of those who are concerned about the culture of death (abortion) that is taking over our nation. But now we have these 150+ deceived faith leaders who have aligned themselves with the party of death and are fighting their fellow-Christians who are defending the lives of the unborn.
How do so-called Christians and Seventh-day Adventists buy into the abortion myth. They become the worst obstacles and stumbling-blocks when real Christians take a stand for truth and life. The letter signed by 150+ faith leaders opposing the “Fetal Heartbeat Bill” was signed by pastors, religious leaders and abortion activists that included Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Unitarian Universalists, and even a pagan priestess. Among the Christians who signed were the Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, United Church of Christ, African Methodist Episcopal, Seventh-day Adventist, Anglican, and Nazarene.
In their opposition to the Fetal Heartbeat Bill (HB 77), which would save the lives of the most innocent, these 150+ “faith” leaders have said:
“When a person decides that abortion is their best option, they need community support not obstacles preventing safe access to medical care.”
“While there are varied opinions on abortion based on religious beliefs, as persons with deep faith commitments, we affirm a person’s right to decide when to become a parent or expand their family.”
“As people of faith and as Tennesseans, we believe in loving our neighbors and treating one another as we would like to be treated — with compassion, dignity, and respect.” [3]
“Loving” and “treating one another” with “compassion, dignity and respect?” Where’s the compassion and respect for the unborn who are being butchered alive with Ginsu knives? And when has killing a baby become an act of compassion? Where’s the dignity in murdering a defenseless soul who can’t even defend itself or even speak out? What parallel universe are they living in?
Let’s be very clear. You cannot support the killing of babies and praise the name of Jesus at the same time. That’s impossible. Jesus makes it plain that these deceived souls have another spiritual father.
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.” John 8:44.
These 150+ so-called faith leaders are not Christians and never can be, unless they repent and leave the workings of Satan.
“Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD … Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.” Jeremiah 7:9, 10, 11, 16.
