In the minds of some in the secular news media, the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. Why can’t our people connect the dots? The push for Sunday rest has united religious, political, and social groups in a “common” cause. This is exactly what Pope Francis predicted in his encyclical on climate change, Laudato Si’ #23, when he said, “The climate is a common good, belonging to all and meant for all … Humanity is called to recognize the need for changes.” One of those changes is the need for Sunday rest, as described in Laudato Si’ #237.
On May 3, 2022, “The Local,” a French news media site, published an article about Sunday shopping restrictions in France and named those who were behind the push for Sunday rest. Notice what was published:
“While traditionally it was Christian groups who opposed Sunday opening, these days it’s just as likely to be trade unions – who are concerned about the effect on employees’ work-life balance and right to time off if Sunday opening becomes the norm. Some supermarkets have attempted to circumvent this by opening on Sundays with automated checkouts only, in order to reduce staffing levels. Increasingly, green groups are also opposing Sunday opening as they focus on reducing consumption in order to save the planet.” [1]
Sunday openings are opposed by churches, labor unions, and environmentalists. Not only has the climate movement embraced Sunday rest, but it has also taken up the cause of Sunday closing. This contributes to the Pope’s vision of Laudato Si’ being implemented throughout society. The Sunday movement is being driven by the climate change crisis and all other man-made disasters. God foretold the following events:
“It will be declared that men are offending God by the violation of the Sunday-sabbath, that this sin has brought calamities which will not cease until Sunday observance shall be strictly enforced, and that those who present the claims of the fourth commandment, thus destroying reverence for Sunday, are troublers of the people, preventing their restoration to divine favor and temporal prosperity.” (Great Controversy, p. 590).
Are you aware of the forces at work in the world to bring chaos and disaster? Do you see why certain men are attempting to usher in World War III while also conspiring to create a climate apocalypse? Rome will not let a good crisis go to waste, and they will take advantage of the chaos. These natural disasters, pandemics, and tragedies are being used to aid in the passage of a National Sunday Law.
Pope Francis is fulfilling his prophetic role by encouraging everyone to work together to pass policies that protect people’s right to rest on Sunday (Laudato Si’ #237), all in the name of environmental sustainability. In these last days, this is one of the methods being used to promote Sunday laws. Climate activists and religious leaders will exert pressure on state officials in all governments around the world to implement Sunday rest through legislation:
“The dignitaries of church and State will unite to bribe, persuade or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance” (Great Controversy, p. 592).
The environmental crisis has become the most widely publicized issue on the planet. The dangers of Sunday laws are slowly but steadily threatening us on all sides. Sunday is being agitated once again through climate policies. These laws are a threat to our religious and civil liberties, as we know from both prophecy and history. Sunday laws are also in direct conflict with God’s Word, which commands us to keep Saturday as the seventh-day Sabbath. The Three Angels’ Messages place a strong emphasis on the Sabbath of the Decalogue, revealing the close connection between the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
The central theme of the Everlasting Gospel of Revelation 14:6-12 is the close relationship between obedience and faith. We need to do a lot more to bring God’s prophetic messages to light. We must warn the rest of the world about the formation of the image of the beast, the union of church and state, the notorious Sunday laws, and the global shift toward Rome. This is the time to sound the trumpet and warn people about the dangers that are about to take the world by storm.

It is clear that the climate change movement and the Sunday law movement are closely linked. The rocks are crying out. Why can’t Ted Wilson, Ganoune Diop, Mark Finley and others see what’s going on and speak up to warn the public?

Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet’s words: “The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” [Revelation 12:17.] {GC88 592.3}
As the Sabbath has become the special point of controversy throughout Christendom, and religious and secular authorities have combined to enforce the observance of the Sunday, the persistent refusal of a small minority to yield to the popular demand, will make them objects of universal execration. It will be urged that the few who stand in opposition to an institution of the church and a law of the State, ought not to be tolerated; that it is better for them to suffer than for whole nations to be thrown into confusion and lawlessness. The same argument eighteen hundred years ago was brought against Christ by the “rulers of the people.” “It is expedient for us,” said the wily Caiaphas, “that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.” [John 11:50.] This argument will appear conclusive; and a decree will finally be issued against those who hallow the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, denouncing them as deserving of the severest punishment, and giving the people liberty, after a certain time, to put them to death. Romanism in the Old World, and apostate Protestantism in the New, will pursue a similar course toward those who honor all the divine precepts. {GC88 615.1}

“Why can’t our people connect the dots?” …
Because they choose to be ignorant. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

The churches today are just following Pope Francis instead of Jesus. We need the Bible, not the traditions of men.
