Seventh-day Adventist world president Ted Wilson arrived in Zambia, Africa, on January 27, 2023, for a week-long visit. Wilson is on a pastoral visit in Zambia, where he has visited Seventh-day Adventist Unions, church members, and numerous institutions. He was also expected to meet with Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, who is also a Seventh-day Adventist Church member.
President Hakainde Hichilema, shown above receiving Ted Wilson, visited the Vatican last year to bow before Pope Francis. He has also described the Catholic Church as a “lighthouse of hope” and a “barometer of our nation’s conscience.” [1] President Hichilema also “praised the Catholic Church for the essential social services it provides to the people of the Southern African nation.” [2] And Ted Wilson just praised this individual on his Facebook page as a devoted and faithful Seventh-day Adventist.
Protestants do not bow before the Pope because of theological differences between Protestantism and the Roman Catholic Church. Protestants believe in the principle of sola scriptura, which holds that the Bible is the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice, while the Pope is seen as a fallible human being rather than a supreme authority. Additionally, Protestants are supposed to reject the Catholic concept of the Papacy and the Pope’s authority over the Church. These differences have led to a division between the two denominations and have resulted in Protestants not recognizing the Pope’s authority or bowing before him.
Furthermore, bowing one’s head before the Pope is a sign of reverence and respect, and it is a traditional act of Catholic piety. In the Catholic Church, the Pope is considered to be the Vicar of Christ on Earth, and as such, he claims to hold a special position of spiritual authority. When people bow their heads before the Pope, they are showing their respect for his spiritual authority and for the office he holds within the Church. Bowing one’s head can also be seen as a symbol of humility and submission to Rome’s will, as expressed through the Pope’s leadership of the Church. This act is often performed during papal audiences, Mass, or other religious ceremonies and is an important part of Catholic tradition and devotion.
Ted Wilson is supposed to know all of this, and during his pastoral visit to Zambia, it was his duty to correct this major, public aberration in the Seventh-day Adventist faith, not praise it. The purpose for high-ranking representatives of a church to visit different nations is to assess the spiritual and pastoral situation of the local Seventh-day Adventist community, to offer guidance and support, to encourage the faithful in the faith, and to correct any distortions within the church. These kinds of pastoral visits are considered significant, and they should demonstrate the concern and interest that the leadership has for the spiritual well-being of its members.
However, this did not happen. We have been waiting for someone in high places to call into question, to challenge, and to reprove these blatant violations against our faith. Where are the champions of Protestantism at this crucial hour? Sadly, we have seen throughout the years that the so-called defenders of the faith, including the General Conference Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Department, have all been clasping hands with the Roman power.
It is true that when you are the president of a country, you represent all people, including those of other faiths. But politicians do not have to praise or embrace every ideology embraced by their constituents. They are elected to represent the people, but they also have their own personal beliefs and principles that may differ from some or all of their constituents. Ultimately, a president’s job is to balance the needs and desires of their citizens with their own beliefs and make decisions that they believe are in the best interest of their country as a whole.
And certainly, no Seventh-day Adventist has to travel to the Vatican to bow before the Pope in front of the eyes of the world. We don’t have to praise Rome by calling her a “beacon of hope.” This was done publicly. It was reported throughout Adventism, and Ted Wilson knew or should have known all about this. Faithful and dedicated Seventh-day Adventists do not go to Rome to bow before the Pope.
“In the very time in which we live, the Lord has called His people and has given them a message to bear. He has called them to expose the wickedness of the man of sin … The thirteenth chapter of Revelation presents a power that is to be made prominent in these last days” (Manuscript Release, Vol. 18, p. 33).
Is it any wonder why the laity must lead out in the final warfare against enemies of the truth and the principalities of darkness? God’s true and faithful people will not sit quietly and allow the spirit of Protestantism to be torn down. Praise God, not everyone is going to be wondering after the beast. The protest must continue. As the world prepares to implement the Great Reset, we must be part of the Great Protest. The Lord is depending not on great numbers but on the faithful few to finish up his work and cut it short in righteousness.

Is that something you would be proud for your recording angel to write?
Samuel Kimani Njoroge says
The messenger of the lord says in the book ”Great controversy” as large storm is approaching a large class of people who profess to believe in the third angels message will depart and join forces with opposition to supress the truth because they were not truly sanctified so they will join the easier and popular way and become bitter critics and opposers of their former brethren.Seventh day adventists should wake up?

Brother Andy in your article you said “We have been waiting for someone in high places to call into question, to challenge, and to reprove these blatant violations against our faith. ” I suggest you do not hold your breath while you are waiting for that to happen. The Three Angels Messages begin with a movement and it will end with a movement.
Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Keep up the good work in calling out the wrongs of our leaders. Most members will follow the leadership into Sunday keeping just like the Jews followed their leaders to death, captivity and persecution at the destruction of Jerusalem. But some will wake out of their sleep and slumber as the truth is proclaimed in these last days.

What is going on?? Doesn’t seem like there’s anything we can do when our own General Conference President condones it. We’ve been told these things should not surprise us, and quite frankly, it doesn’t. Don’t look to our leaders for guidance, or support in these last days. Look to God and Him alone.

So those who bow to Rome are the good and faithful Adventists?
Marie says
If you watch the video, Ted Wilson said that President Hichilema was another Daniel and Joseph. I’m not sure about that. That sounds awfully political.

It’s my understanding this SDA president didn’t just bow to the pope but also called him “Holy Father.”
Paul Marcok says
That he did J.B.. And in clear contradiction to Jesus` words: “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.” Mat. 23:9.
