The FIFA World Cup is watched by more than half of the world. [1] The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022. Qatar and FIFA have announced the new mascot for the games in advance of the tournament. It’s a ghost named La’eeb who has been around since the beginning of the game, thousands of years ago, according to his story. The ghost mascot comes from a “parallel universe” and claims to have assisted in the scoring of some of the game’s most memorable goals.
According to the FIFA World Cup website, “La’eeb will be everywhere – welcoming the world, inspiring young fans and cheering the action during the tournament.” [2] Fans will also soon “be able to download GIFs and stickers of La’eeb via a host of social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp and Snapchat. La’eeb screensavers and filters will also be available for people to download.” [2]
Spiritualism can be found almost anywhere today. Spiritualism was previously introduced to the world by Pope Francis when he dedicated the world to the Virgin Mary. Spiritualism is also being heavily promoted by the ecumenical movement and the entertainment industry. And now it will be reintroduced to the world through sports. The ghost of La’eeb, a spirit capable of possessing soccer players and causing them to score incredible goals, will be featured in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They also claim that the spirits not only work with players but also teach us how to play the game.
Unfortunately, the world prefers to communicate with spirits rather than with God, and many Christians will become engrossed in the games, unaware of the spirit at work in these events. We must evaluate our relationship with the word of God because there is absolutely no biblical justification for supporting this kind of demonic indoctrination. The 2022 FIFA World Cup is promoting the idea that we can communicate with the spirits, and there are no words that anyone can give to say that this is acceptable. This is not what Jesus did. He didn’t work in partnership with the ghosts or spirits from another universe.
Satan is unconcerned about whether he seduces you through false religion, music, sex, drugs, alcohol, or sports. He’ll do everything in his power to cause you to lose eternal life. Seventh-day Adventists, of all people, should be aware of this. Instead of issuing a warning against spiritualism, many of our people would rather engage in these sporting events, become corporate sponsors, or partake in the festivities, unaware that we have truly crossed “over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism” (Last Day Event, p. 131).

It gave me the chills just to watch this on my computer. I felt like I was letting the enemy in.
