The Adventist University of Chile (UNACH) has installed a new solar power system in order to make “visible its global commitment to mitigate the effects of climate change.” [1] This news was published on August 19, 2022 by the South American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. UNACH wishes to convey to the world their commitment to addressing climate change. And thanks to the Chilean Union and the South American Division, their efforts to address what they call “the most important” issue facing our world are being noticed.
The South American Division published the following about the climate crisis and the new 100% carbon neutral solar power system at UNACH:
“One of the main causes of climate change are emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), which for many years and in an accelerated manner has been contributing to this condition through the use of fossil fuels such as coal, gas, oil and natural gas. Being carbon neutral means making these emissions equivalent to zero. And with the creation of this photovoltaic park (solar power system), UNACH joins the path that seeks to achieve zero emissions at the country level and thus limit global warming, being a carbon neutral institution.” [1]
The rector of UNACH, Mauricio Comte, indicated that “the most important thing is sustainability, the issue of saving, CO2 and everything convenient in terms of clean energy, which is an extremely important element and is within some research work of the university.” [1]
It is concerning that the language on climate being used today has become completely political and not biblically focused. All of the left-wing socialist talking points have been incorporated into the current discussion of climate change, which is cloaked in false science, false ideology, and false notions of social justice. This is what is being presented to our church members to shame them into embracing leftist policies. If Seventh-day Adventists adhered to the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, we would be speaking with moral authority, but we do not.
Instead, we would rather align ourselves with the globalists at the Vatican, the United Nations, and the World Economic Forum and push their radical ideologies that are determined to curtail civil and religious freedoms. It is the globalist elite at the UN that says that “climate change is the most important issue we face.” [2] It is Rome that promotes the idea that we are living in a “climate emergency” and that decided action is needed to avert the “catastrophic” events that are coming. [3]
The truth is that our climate has been changing ever since the very beginning, with or without human activity:
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22.
Jesus also prophesied that in the last days, both man-made and natural disasters would occur in our world.
“And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” Luke 21:11.
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.” Luke 21:25.
“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:26.
Will we also work to reduce or eliminate the signs of the times of Christ’s coming? The reason why there are increasingly more natural disasters in the world is then explained in detail:
“Satan works through the elements also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows … Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes and terrific hail-storms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast” (Great Controversy, p. 589).
How do we mitigate these disasters that Satan is bringing upon the earth? Do we do it through sustainability? Before Jesus returns, it has been predicted that these events will be seen in our world. We are powerless to stop the signs of the times. Unfortunately, our views about climate change and the end-times are not based on divine revelation but on Laudato Si’, the Pope’s climate encyclical. Additionally, God is the one using His power to preserve our world in preparation for the Day of Judgment:
“For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:5-7.
If Seventh-day Adventists want to devote their lives to combating climate change, they ought to do that on their own personal time and not publish these false, radical climate ideologies in our church publications. We should not be promoting questionable science as Seventh-day Adventist dogma. There is a false science that the world has embraced that is making its way into Adventism. It’s a false science that says we evolved from monkeys. It’s a false science that says our earth is billions of years old. It’s a false science that says there are about 100 different kinds of gender identities. And it is a false science that says that “biological men” can get pregnant. [4]

After Vatican council 2…the club of rome came into existence 3 years later to manage the “climate agenda” as a means of getting the Pope back onto the throne of the world…timelines are jmportant & realizing that the “holy huddle “of VC2 is where this agenda was birthed w/all of the false science being used to give it “seeming” viability…not knowing history on this subject can be deadly…
I would like to be able to go completely solar, but not because of the false science of climate change. It is nothing but a hoax to get control of the people. And agree with all the other things you called false science. Sad state of affairs this world is in. Let us make our calling and election sure while probation lingers. Who knows, but Christ may already be on the judgment of the living. Solemn times for sure.
Nothing wrong with solar panels, just keep the climate propaganda out of it.
They want the world to know that their priorities are changing.
Carbon dioxide is fertilizer. It’s food for the plants. It helps the food we grow and to withstand drought and increases the yield. What are they teaching these kids today?
How can they eliminate 100% carbon free? Have the students and staff quit breathing? Someone needs to tell them that we breathe in oxygen and breathe out co2.
