“But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.” 2 Timothy 2:16.
Our nation hit a new low this past weekend during the 2018 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Comedian Michelle Wolf spewed out every kind of lewd, hateful, ugly and disrespectful word known to man for 16 minutes on the national stage. What other nation in the world allows this? Some are defending her remarks as free speech. But when has the vulgar, the indecent and the shameful become mainstream in America? When has this nation given a platform for this kind of XXX rated speech for the whole world to hear?
The most shameful part of this televised event was Michelle Wolf’s jokes about abortion. There is nothing humorous about this; and any society that accepts abortion jokes (the killing of babies) becomes a shameful embarrassment to our nation, our world and our God.
This is what comedian Michelle Wolf said about abortion:
“He (Vice President Mike Pence) thinks abortion is murder which, first of all, don’t knock it ’til you try it — and when you do try it, really knock it. You know, you’ve got to get that baby out of there.” Source
This was meant to be funny; but in reality this shows where we are as a society. We live in a world that shows no respect for the dignity of life. The abortion joke said to “get that baby out” which means to terminate its life. God on the other hand says:
“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.” Proverbs 24:11.
Today, instead of protecting the most vulnerable we make jokes on the slaughter of the innocents while many in the media and in Washington D.C. sit back and laugh. Many of the Washington D.C. elite offered praises to Michelle after her performance.
May the Lord grant us repentance and forgiveness for these offenses. May God help us to remain faithful and give us the courage to speak out against these abuses and to stand up for decency, morality and the unborn.
“But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13.
