Santa Clara University in California is a Jesuit institution. [1] Rainbow Buddies is a mentorship program at Santa Clara University (SCU) that pairs LGBT+ faculty and staff mentors with LGBT+ students to help them “develop” their “identities.” [2] Through the Rainbow Buddies program, young students who may be questioning their identities will be able to discover new identities quickly, which would otherwise take “years to discover.” With special events hosted by the new “Rainbow Resource Center” at SCU and with SCU’s new LGBT+ mentors, students who are confused about their gender can learn how to overcome “negative stereotypes” about the LGBT+ community.
This is an epidemic that is affecting Christian schools and religious communities across denominational lines. And the Jesuits are leading the way. In the history of our world, there does not seem to have been a time when the radical LGBT+ agenda has demolished more families, more marriages and more churches than it does today. We are in a crisis so deep, so serious and so dangerous that the survival of humanity is at stake. When the spirituality of our families and marriages is destroyed, society as a whole begins to collapse.
“When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Matthew 18:8.
Jesus describes a spiritual crisis on earth before His return. We are witnessing this crisis of faith. When we see churches openly embracing the LGBT+ agenda, it cannot be said that there is not a crisis of faith. The clear moral teachings of the church are being replaced. Instead of affirming the faith and the fundamental truths of God’s word, instead of fulfilling the gospel commission given to us by Christ to preach repentance and conversion, the modern church today spends its time embracing the radical gender theories of the LGBT+ movement. We would rather proclaim the radical rainbow gospel, radical climate theories, socio-economic theories and political solutions instead of God’s solutions for sin.
There is an effort to change the teachings of Christ, remove the light of the gospel, and silence divine revelation. This is not only happening in the United States, because God is not only being rejected here. The spiritual crisis predicted by Jesus is worldwide. The atheistic view that God is dead is entering the church. Christians today are killing the truth. The fear of God has been replaced by the fear of men. Today, man has taken the place of God because we make human policies that supersede God’s law. The very thing that God forbids, man is legislating by law with harsh penalties if we do not accept these false human inventions.
The only solution during this unprecedented spiritual crisis is for the church to defend the faith and affirm what God says in His word. We have the truth and we must use it. We need convictions and we must communicate those convictions to others. If we had a true love for God, we would not be living like the world. If we really feared God, we would have the strength to speak the truth with love. Jesus clearly taught that His followers must have an experience of sanctification that will only occur with the truth of God:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17.
Truth, purity, obedience and love go hand in hand:
“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.” 1 Peter 1:22.
We are robbing our church of this spirituality when we neglect to preach what Jesus said should be preached in His name:
“And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Luke 24:47.
Our weapons are spiritual and “mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). And our greatest weapon in this war is the truth. Biblical truth. And when the church is under attack we must have the truth and we must use it. God’s truth is directly opposed to the modern world. The truth must be affirmed and used to resist the lies and decadence that surrounds us. Our weaponry is to be a people of the truth, proclaiming the truth and practicing the truth.
