Pope Francis is planning to take over the political landscape. The Vatican is re-establishing itself as a major political and religious player, and in some parts of the world, Rome now wields absolute power. But Rome is far from complete. She is not satisfied. She will not be satisfied until she is the most powerful global superpower on the planet. She yearns for the return of her former power, when she ruled over the earth’s kings in both spiritual and temporal capacities.
On April 29, 2024, the National Catholic Reporter (NCR) published an article titled “The Vatican should do more to influence UN climate action,” expressing the same sentiments about the Catholic Church’s role in the world as described above. They argue that only the Pope of Rome can become the moral and political figure our world desperately needs.
The NCR published the following:
• “Pope Francis has issued an impressive array of writings urging us to awaken to the calamities of our collective behavior. Most famously, his encyclical Laudato Si’ and subsequent apostolic exhortation Laudate Deum weave together the challenges of climate change, economic inequality and social injustice.” [1]
• “The Vatican’s moral proclamations on today’s global turbulence are welcome and much needed. But frankly, we need something more tangible than inspirational words flowing from the pope’s pen. We need action, the kind of action only the Holy See can deliver, the kind that turns prophetic proclamations into principled action.” [1]
• “The world yearns for moral and political leadership. Francis is positioned to provide it.” [1]
• “By stepping from the sidelines and inserting itself into selected negotiations with moral vigor and technical competency, the Holy See will learn delegations’ needs and discover how divisions can be healed and common ground can be found.” [1]
• “The power of the Holy See can turn moral pieties and platitudes into climate projects and programs. A sociopolitical transformation of the kind called for in Laudato Si’ won’t happen through conventional thinking or accustomed ways of acting. Through active participation in the convention, the Holy See can reinvigorate seeds of hope and provide the spark and power for the ‘genuine conversion’ that the Holy Father calls for.” [1]
The Catholic News Reporter is urging the Pope to take on the role of exerting significant control and influence over the world. Catholics want the world to adopt the Pope’s ideology and policies, indicating a desire to bring the world under Rome’s authority. This is what Catholics are calling for.
This is the perfect fulfillment of what the Bible says will take place in the last days. Revelation 17 identifies a woman sitting upon a seven-headed beast, and we understand this to be an impure church (woman) having control over the policies of civil government (beast). It has always been characteristic of self-serving, apostate religions to try to influence the state so that they can shape public policy and control the people at large.
Pope Francis continues to dominate the news headlines. He is positioning himself to come out on top in the endgame. Not only is the Vatican attracting and influencing both the political and religious worlds, but the Pope is also admired and praised with royal receptions everywhere he travels. He is embraced by the economic, business, academic, and scientific communities as well. Bible prophecy has described that this very scene would take place during the last days:
“For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.” Revelation 18:3.
The world is being Romanized. The opinions of Pope Francis are being solicited by the world for implementation. The time has come to establish the Papal New World Order after the former glory it had during the Middle Ages. We are seeing the disintegration of the gospel and the elimination of free states. When civil government comes under the influence of the church, these schemes always tend to lead to the downfall of both the church and the state. Every time the church enters into an unholy alliance with the state, that is when both become corrupted.
Will we keep quiet about these significant developments? We believe not. We have a great responsibility as we see prophecy being fulfilled all around us. It is our duty to warn and hold back the enemy’s hand for as long as possible by preaching the everlasting gospel of Revelation 14:6–12. According to the Spirit of Prophecy, the final developments will be rapid.
“The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones” (Testimonies, Vol. 9, p. 11).
