On Sabbath, November 4, 2023, Seventh-day Adventist Pastor Khanyiso Mente led the worship service with chaotic, wild, and unrestrained dancing. This is the kind of behavior you see in a Pentecostal church on Sunday morning, when its pastors are possessed with an unholy spirit. This took place during the Trans-Orange Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Inter-Chapter Rally at the Cedarwoods in Sandton Hotel and Conference Center in South Africa.

Gone are the days where we used to find fulfillment in sacred, reverent, and inspiring hymns. Today, worship has been co-opted by Pentecostals who have invaded the church. Today we have leaders who are transforming our worship of the Creator into an embarrassing MTV wannabe circus-style show, thinking that we are honoring our holy God when in fact we are making a mockery of His name.
“I was told that men will employ every policy to make less prominent the difference between the faith of Seventh-day Adventists and those who observe the first day of the week. In this controversy the whole world will be engaged, and the time is short.” (Selected Message, Book 2, p. 385).
Pentecostal-style worship is causing us to look just like the Sunday-keeping charismatic churches. Pentecostalism can accommodate everything, including wild music, crazy dancing, and any other feature designed to excite the emotions. This is a mixture of feel-good theology, an electrifying atmosphere, and an entrance fee for Sabbath worship.
“From the sacredness which was attached to the earthly sanctuary, Christians may learn how they should regard the place where the Lord meets with His people. There has been a great change, not for the better, but for the worse, in the habits and customs of the people in reference to religious worship. The precious, the sacred, things which connect us with God are fast losing their hold upon our minds and hearts, and are being brought down to the level of common things. The reverence which the people had anciently for the sanctuary where they met with God in sacred service has largely passed away” (Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, p. 491).
This outrageously wild entertainment, dancing, and music must be repudiated. If administrators are going to allow this kind of dancing that does not reflect the character and spirit that should exist in our institutions, then they all need to be retrained or replaced. But, tragically, what usually happens in these cases is nothing. Nothing changes. Bad behavior is ignored, and error continues to flourish. Some will make excuses to accommodate these indefensible activities. Finally, full-blown apostasy follows.
“The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time” (Selected Messages, Vol. 2, p. 36).
The church is now infiltrated by Satan’s inventions. Who’s letting them in? Who puts up with this? Why are we providing our people with the chance to fall prey to evil spirits? The original purpose of our church and institutions was to prepare people to finish the work of God on earth. Too many Adventists have lost their vision and senses. We are moving from a sacred and consecrated mission to displays that were never meant to happen.
We are living on the antitypical Day of Atonement, when probation is about to end. This was the same Day of Judgment when the sanctuary was cleansed from the record of sin as described in Leviticus 16 and 23. This was the most solemn time of the year. On this day, Israel was commanded to weep, pray, fast, and seek reconciliation with God. And when God says to weep and pray because the investigative judgment in heaven is about to end, it is not time to act like clowns:
“And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth: And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die. And it was revealed in mine ears by the Lord of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord God of hosts.” Isaiah 22:12-14.
“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem” Zechariah 12:10, 11.

What a disgrace to have to pay on Sabbath to watch this abomination.

I am thankful that this is not the norm. These meetings should be corrected and leaders relieved of their positions in the church. Each member who participated needs counseling for it is obvious, there are in a perilous spiritual state.

Agreed, why be an Adventist.

And no doubt they will justify this ungodly act of charging an entrance fee by stating that money was collected for use by the church. However the scriptures are certain that such funded are not needed or are beneficial or needed by the God of heaven and earth

In portuguese language, the pastor’s surname “Mente” is a verb in the present tense which means “(he/she) lies”.

The thought frequently passes through my mind – why is it that God our Father permits these men and women to freely use the Seventh-day Adventist name as they testify by their actions their allegiance to and love for this world, while those who are seeking how they may believe and live in fuller agreement with God’s word are condemned and persecuted by the organized SDA church and forbidden from using the name? Our founders would not be permitted to call themselves SDA’s by the current corporate church if they were still alive. Then it struck me… God has allowed this disgrace so that the final message which God’s little remnant will give in great power and with great success can only be attributed to his Glory and not to the honor of the fallen Seventh-day Adventist organization. As his chosen ones go from place to place throughout the earth, perhaps by the same means as Phillip after baptizing the Ethiopian, giving the final trumpet blast to the three angel’s messages, the world will catch a glimpse of what it means to be a child of God. This glimpse will be contrasted with deeds of the nominal Adventists and it will then be clear who has the truth. The truth surpasses denominational affiliations and it will be the truth that will unite God’s people before the coming of the great day.

Amen! Jesus glorified the Father and it was Jesus that must increase while John the Baptist would decrease. If he can give the true Seventh-day Adventists power, He can do anything!
I suspect the organization will in the future be a major persecuting entity and our little disfellowship wounds recently will appear pretty insignificant. Still though I consider myself a Seventh-Day Adventist that is seeking entire truth and it is painful to watch silently and not be able to be inside the organization still giving the warning. It falls on mostly deaf ears as the reminders to Laodicea of what the Spirit is saying to the church are pretty uncomfortable. Someone needs to say it though and God has more obedient He is raising up.
The words were then spoken, “God holds the cord. We need not fear.” These words were then repeated by those behind us, accompanied with, “He will not fail us now. He has brought us thus far safely.” . RH January 12, 1869, par. 12
To God be praised for our infirmities!

No matter how much this kind of Rebellion is pointed out—people keep doing these things….it’s because there seems to be no ramifications—from WO to Music to LGBT in the Church & Universities to Doctrinal Rebellion….

Very sad to see a pastor dancing like a fool.
