With Free Sunday Family Fun Days, the campaign to influence our society’s opinions, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors about Sunday continues. Sunday is no longer simply for fun and family, but you can access free things and shows that would normally cost you money on any other day of the week. The Sunday movement promotes their cause in a variety of ways, including free science and astronomy programs. Who doesn’t like the word “free”? And when you combine the word “Sunday” with “fun,” “family,” and “free,” you have created a powerful propaganda tool to shape public opinion.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has put together a free “new family-friendly summer astronomy program” that will be showcased only on Sundays in the months of August and September called “Free Sunday Family Fun Days.” That was the actual headline published on August 3, 2023, by the university’s public radio station, WUWM 89.7 FM. “Free Sunday Family Fun Days” is an event where kids can get hands-on learning experiences about science, astronomy, and technology through activities, games, and exhibits. It is important to note that Sunday rest advocacy can take various forms. The push to secure Sunday rest by law will ultimately fall into the hands of politicians and governments. However, churches, activist groups, the media, businesses, academic and scientific institutions, trade unions, and other non-governmental organizations will play an important role in publicly promoting the idea that Sunday must be set aside to benefit society as a whole.
Currently, we are being bombarded with both religious and secular public awareness campaigns calling for Sunday to be made a special day of rest. Satan is effectively using every institution he can to make Sunday popular again. Ultimately, these efforts to promote Sunday will work because legislators will succumb to the “popular” demand for Sunday.
“Rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance” (Great Controversy, p. 592).
“As the Sabbath has become the special point of controversy throughout Christendom, and religious and secular authorities have combined to enforce the observance of Sunday, the persistent refusal of a small minority to yield to the popular demand will make them objects of universal execration” (Great Controversy, p. 615).
“From the pulpits of the popular churches will be heard the statement that the world is being punished because Sunday is not honored as it should be” (Review and Herald, September 17, 1901).
All of the current movements that promote Sunday will culminate in a legislative enactment. Sunday rest by law will be enforced by persuasion, deception, and force. The beast and his image will influence the world to impose the mark. Thank God that not everyone will be misled. Look at the good news that awaits the faithful under the power of the Latter Rain:
“Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from Heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given … Notwithstanding the agencies combined against the truth, a large number take their stand upon the Lord’s side” (Great Controversy, p. 612).

A Catholic (to mean ecumenical or universal) procession.
“A company was presented before me under the name of Seventh-day Adventists, who were advising that the banner or sign which makes us a distinctive people should not be held out so strikingly; for they claimed it was not the best policy in securing success to our institutions. This distinctive banner is to be borne through the world to the close of probation. In describing the remnant people of God, John says, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12). This is the law and the gospel. The world and the churches are uniting in harmony in transgressing the law of God, …..But the Sabbath of the Lord thy God is to be a sign to show the difference between the obedient and the disobedient. I saw some reaching out their hands to remove the banner, and to obscure its significance….” 2SM 385.2
“That night I dreamed that I was in Battle Creek looking out from the side glass at the door and saw a company marching up to the house, two and two. They looked stern and determined. I knew them well and turned to open the parlor door to receive them, but thought I would look again. The scene was changed. The company now presented the appearance of a Catholic procession. One bore in his hand a cross, another a reed. “1T 577.2
