It seems to me the use of the word Adventist is misplaced and misused, because we are definitely not like it was in the days of the early pioneers when sister E G White together with other young people where leading the church, we have the name Seventh Day Adventist but we hardly use it generally we take out the names Seventh Day and just say we are Adventist (for short) yet the spirit and encouragement given to the advent movement after the great disappointment while our dear sister E G White a servant of God and a living instrument in the hands of Christ was among us, for while certain groups of Adventist leaders associate in the way that is described in this article, others who claim to be more like historical Adventist spend much time criticising the traditional SDAC organisation.

My final point is a Christ Centred one quoting our dear sister E G White…

1. Of all Christians Seventh Day Adventist should be foremost in lifting up Christ before the world.

2. There is nothing that will help the spiritual life as the study of the life of Christ.

3. Finally as it is found in the Devotional reading of the publication book…Lift Him Up, page 230 under the date of the 4th of August we read…

The cross of Christ challenges and will finally vanquish every earthly and hellish power. In the cross all influence centres and from it all influence goes forth. It’s the great centre of attraction, for on it Christ gave up his life for the human race…Those who in the strength of Christ overcome the great enemy of God and man will occupy a position in the heavenly courts above angels who have never fallen. Christ declares, “…if l be lifted up…l will draw all… unto me ” if the cross does not find an influence in its favour, it creates an influence…This is the only means that will move the world…” (No less the church for that matter)

Let’s keep in mind the words of Paul to the believers in Corinth;

…l am determined not to know anything among you save Jesus Christ and Him crucified…(1: Corinthians 2: 2)
