I deeply appreciate your calling attention to this very important matter. However, in this particular case, I believe that it is crucial to remain aware that (to the best of my knowledge) Chick-fil-A is not being named as a party in this case. Instead, (to the best of my knowledge), the legal action is limited to the franchisee, Hatch Trick, Inc.

Actually, I have heard of many Chick-fil-A locations being very sympathetic and accommodating of seventh-day Sabbath-keeping Christians who greatly value the opportunity to work there.

I am certain that you would not wish to inadvertently defame Chick-fil-A for actions regarding which they may be innocent.

I look at this as a calculated move and further Hegelian dialectic. If you listen to Candace Owen’s you know that she often talks about an “occupied nation” after the shooting of Charlie Kirk. Tucker Carlson does as well. And there are others. These independent reporters have millions of followers across the globe. If people are being influenced to “not like” Israel, and the Catholic faith gets pushed on us nearly every episode, naturally, people will oppose the Jewish Sabbath as Trump announces it.

I believe the RCC is protecting Candace Owens, as she has over 5M followers, is the number 1 podcast in the world, and her videos never get shadowbanded, cancelled or demonetized. She may not know that she is being protected, I don’t know.

It all seems very orchestrated, if you ask me.

While I agree that you should be allowed to take the true Sabbath off for rest and worship, they would have to take Sunday off as well. Asking an employer to open on Sundays, when they are generally closed for business, is not right either.

I would have no problem with a private business requiring workers to work on certain days or else not be able to remain in employment. I also have no problem with a company changing their policy/position on this and shifting their needs, requiring workers to work on days that previously they were not required to work on. If an employee for religious reasons cannot meet this, then they will be happier somewhere else. No employer should be forced to keep anyone on staff for any reason.

What I cannot justify is the bait and switch tactic used on this person. Hiring them under the pretense that they will not have to work on the Sabbath and then forcing them to work on the Sabbath or face demotion is indefensible.

I see your point but non Sabbath keepers already have an extra day to labor as few of them actually keep Sunday holy.

This just makes it go from 7 versus 6 workdays to 6 versus 5 workdays.

Use Sunday for work around the home instead of business.
