“Those who believe in the Son are not judged; but those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not believed in God’s only Son.” John 3:18,
GNB. “I am telling you the truth: those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. They will not be judged, but have already passed from
death to life.” John 5:24, GNB. “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:16, KJV. Can we see the reality
of these verses with the two thieves on the cross with Jesus? The repentant thief believed Jesus and was given eternal life on the spot without an investigative
judgment, wasn’t he? The unrepentant thief died in his sins and received nothing from Jesus, and will perish later in the lake of fire. When we confess and repent of
our sins, we are not only forgiven and cleansed (1 John 1:9), but our sins are also forgotten (Hebrews 10:17). However, with the talents given us and the responsibility
of spreading the gospel, we do get a stewardship evaluation (Matthew 25:21). May Jesus say to us: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the
joy of thy Lord.” Amen?
