I wouldn't criticize football just because some of the players purposely try hurting others. (You have bad people in lots of activities involving mostly well-intentioned people.) However, how many Christians watch the Super Bowl half-time shows? I don't pay much attention to these events since I'm not a football fan, but I know Lady Gaga performed at one recent Super Bowl, and this year the performers were rappers who have songs that glorify things like drugs, fornication and even murder. Would these "Christians" actually listen to their music on any other occasion, and if not, why would they feel justified listening to it the night of the Super Bowl? Is this some kind of a moral loophole I'm unaware of?
