This is not how a ministry that is spreading the Three Angels Messages and the Everlasting Gospel behaves. This is how a ministry that is rife with greed and corruption and is desperately grasping for its survival behaves.
How can one think that they can “recover” an “asset” that does not belong to them?
Grosboll and Nunez say they are not angry or bitter as they are trying to rob a brother of his inheritance. They also state that they think that they are doing Gods will. Wow!!
Nunez is going to fool around and find himself in a Mexican prison. If that happens, Nunez will find out how good a friend Grosboll is. Especially if he needs something.
Question:
How can Steps to Life afford 22 attorneys but can’t “afford” to help someone who has an immediate need such as a months rent or an automobile repair or a health issue for someone who is a member of their “church?” Anybody with these types of needs are met with a reply of “we can’t afford that.” They sure gladly take your tithe money or any donations though.
Grosboll says by going ahead with this lawsuit that he is willing to take the “hit.”
Here’s a “hit” for you.
Grosboll has a tendency to twist and bend the Bible and the SOP to fit his agenda or his narrative for the particular moment that he is in.
Grosboll decided to “preach a sermon” on adultry one Sabbath morning. He referenced the SOP in that “sermon” and said that we “need to obey the councils” that we have been given. I completely agree with that. There was an adulterer in the church. The SOP says that adulterers need to be disfellowshipped. This adulterer was not disfellowshipped, he was still active in the church. I brought this to Grossbolls attention one day and brought him printed references with underlines and highlighted facts so he wouldn’t have to look them up. I made it easy for him. He didn’t like that.
Grosboll and Nunez came to my house to try to defend their position, which was contrary to what the SOP says. They were not willing to disfellowship the adulterer, which is what the SOP clearly states must happen. They said that the adulterer cannot hold any church office, which is NOT want the SOP says. This is where our relationship soured.
Church office nominating time came around and I was told after the “committee” met that I could not be an Elder at their “church” anymore.
That is when I fired the whole bunch of them.
Looking back, I am so glad that this happened. Steps to Life may have been a good ministry at one point but it has become very cult like in the past few years. Grosboll expects complete obedience to his “views” and opinions and beliefs. If you disagree with Grosboll then you are blacklisted or shunned or let go, depending upon your position. He has a faithful few “followers” who seem to worship his opinions and views. He demands that. He accepts their “worship” as well, making the place the definition of a “Cult!” It’s sad to see people engaging in this type of behavior while proclaiming to be doing “Gods work.”
God is sorting things out. It seems that this place will self destruct soon enough. By these “Pastors” own hands, they are bringing Gods Wrath upon their own heads. The behavior that they are engaged in while proclaiming that they think that they are doing Gods Will is very telling of what type of spirit they are being led by. If they drop this lawsuit and repent of this abomination, there still may be hope for these individuals.
Once again, I am glad that I am no longer affiliated with Steps to Life in any way. The only way that I would even drive near there is if there was a complete and wholesale cleaning out of all personnel that is currently there and if there was a complete overhaul of its mission values.

By Grosbolls own actions, HE is “not a brother.” He is displaying the characteristics of a sinner and a publican. By his own admission, this very act that he is engaged in qualifies him as such.

Wow!! Mr. Grosboll is doing the very thing that he once publicly condemned. This is a complete reversal of one’s beliefs. This appears to be a “control” issue that has taken hold of any integrity that this man may have once had. He should plead with God for wisdom and guidance and be open for conviction.

My experience with both John and Marshall Grosboll informs my comments here. Marshall was a student of the SOP and had memorized the book of Revelation. He did a lot of good in spreading the Gospel to the greater Wichita area. But wanting a Conference job on conference property with conference benefits means accommodating a church board and conference supervision. Marshall could not imagine that an entire church, much less an entire conference, could not accept his righteousness and simply allow him to take over. Setting a church budget was a meaningless exercise with him. He did not care about a board vote if it meant using church property and budget to start his own independent ministry using all facilities as he saw fit. Wearing people down in nominating committees by first praying and talking until 9 pm and then starting the meeting ensured his getting his way. Any disagreement in policy was met with a reminder that he prayed, therefore God was leading him. Inferring that his prayers were more important than the opposition. The church and the conference finally had enough and removed him. But only after the church was split in two. Marshall and his physician sidekick moved to a new facility and took a hundred or so with them. Then they eventually split over remaining with the church (the preference of the physician) or leaving the church body entirely. The agony of this is still felt in two churches today. Steps to Life is doing a good work. I do not know about their board make up, but their willingness to tolerate any oversight is low. I can only assume that John has a similar constitutional makeup. Marshall could bend and twist the church manual., the spirit of prophecy, and the English language in general to suit his own purposes. I can only assume that John has a similar personality. They are very good people doing a good work. (I visit their sometime) and give them small amounts. But disagreements will not be tolerated. John should, by his former admission, avoid all lawsuits, especially with church brethren. The deck is stacked against him in a foreign country that is rife with corruption. But the Biblical caution that you have pointed out is much more important.

One of these two groups is lying through their teeth.

Option A: The Free Adventists are the rightful owners. Steps to Life is attempting to steal their property.

Option B: Steps to Life are the rightful owners. They are trying to evict what amounts to a group of squatters calling themselves the Free Adventists.

------

The question here is, if Option B is correct, is it better for Steps to Life to allow themselves to be defrauded in order to avoid filing a lawsuit against fellow believers? Not as easy a question to answer as one might think.

If Option A is correct then Steps to Life is engaged in attempted robbery. What a disastrous end that would bring to a once faitfhul ministry. It is almost unthinkable.

If the lawsuit carries forward, it should become fairly obvious in due time which group is lying.
