Revelation and Covid-19 Vaccines: The Science, the Risks and the Future Plagues of Revelation

Introduction: In November of 2020 just before the first vaccine for Covid-19 was approved for emergency use in the US, I wrote an article on the potential risks.  Now we’ve had over five months to see the short term results.  This article reviews the science, summarizes those results, projects the long term risks and ends with an analysis of the final pandemic(s) described in Revelation just before the return of Christ.

O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. . .  God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. His splendor covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. . . Before him went pestilence, and plague followed at his heels. Hab 3:2-5.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.  3 John 1:2.

One of the greatest (and most undervalued) legacies of the pioneers of Adventism is the health message which is to bless the church and the world to the close of time. The Covid pandemic was and still is a unique opportunity for us and our churches to point to the true solution for all disease – Christ the healer and healthy living. Pandemics and plagues according to the prophets are divine announcements of the approach of God, of the return of His Son and the end of the age. True Christians and thoughtful persons everywhere see this pandemic for what it is – a wake-up call for humanity.

Unfortunately, rather than turning to God and seeking to cooperate with the laws governing human health, the world continues to look to pharmaceutical science for solutions. This is natural and not wrong in itself. But as the coming of Christ draws near, the prophecies tell us that the world’s great merchants, the leaders of the earth, will deceive it by their “pharmakeia”, that is, by their pharmaceuticals and by extension, their magic and “sorcery” (Revelation 18:23). It is critical therefore that we understand in the end times how to distinguish between legitimate medicine and “pharmakeia”.

Background

We live in a sinful, often suffering world. But thankfully, for years we have enjoyed the protection of vaccines from many plagues such as smallpox and polio. These vaccines have been a blessing. But what about the new technology developed in the last year to fight the Covid-19 pandemic? To understand what is being done today we need to know some history about vaccines and how they work.

The vaccines of the last 200 years have generally used nature to coax nature. They stimulate an immune response by introducing a weakened or dormant version of the virus into the body and the body produces the antibodies that protect against these pandemics. These vaccines are relatively safe.

At the beginning of 2020 when the current pandemic hit, the authorities, knowing that this virus is a flu variant, started to look at the vaccine options and encouraged pharmaceutical companies, universities and the private sector to come up with a vaccine quickly that would be more effective than a common flu shot. The problem was that the science for a highly effective flu vaccine did not exist. The US government acknowledged the problem and to incentivize the private sector promised the capital to fund development. And the government did more. It also set the bar low for the outcome – a 50 % effective immunity rate.

With government assistance, the private sector went to work with a will, and it wasn’t long before a consensus emerged: An effective flu vaccine for Covid-19 would require the use of genetic engineering in order to produce a stronger than usual antibody response. The experts in the government and private sector reviewed the best candidates and these were awarded further development assistance. When initial results of field tests started coming in the authorities were glad to find that the new vaccine immunity rate was well over 90 percent. Many people breathed a sigh of relief.

The Risks

To date all three of the vaccines approved in the USA use genetically modified (GM) material. According to the World Health Organization, genetically modified vaccines can be classed into two groups: those that work within the cell’s nucleus and those that work outside of it. Scientists believe that GM vaccines that work outside of the nucleus, such as mRNA vaccines, are safer than those that work inside it where DNA replication occurs.

One well-known Adventist educator and scholar who has researched the question of risk wrote to me recently saying that in his opinion the risk is not high for long term consequences. He based that on the assumption that autoimmune and other complications should appear soon after vaccination and since relatively few have surfaced so far (since December when vaccinations began – see below). They seem to be safe.

Given what’s at stake, long term health, is that a prudent assumption to make? Along with the natural process of aging comes a natural decline in immunity and a greater incidence of autoimmune disease. If we expose our immune systems to an unnatural genetic presence it would be naive to not expect at least some long term adverse results.

Medical and state authorities have urged that herd immunity is key to public safety and therefore everyone should do their civic duty and be vaccinated. Now that we’ve had five months of vaccinations, we’re in a better position to evaluate whether that assertion is robustly scientific. Consider the following:

1) As of today, it’s still not known how long the immunity boost will last but scientists acknowledge that, like all vaccines, this one also has a limited  life.  According to the CDC, so far there are over 7000 reported cases of fully vaccinated people who have become infected. Of those 88 have died.

2) Covid-19 is caused by a flu virus and like all flu viruses this one has also begun to mutate. This is why in America we produce a new common flu vaccine twice a year.  Yet after decades of flu vaccinations there is no effective herd immunity.

3) The healthy segment of the population is at low risk. Does it make good sense for healthy individuals to put their health in jeopardy for an experimental vaccine with no long term studies?  Should they do this given that mutations may, like with the common flu, thwart efforts to achieve short and long term herd immunity?

Regarding short term adverse reactions, the US Center for Disease Control, (the CDC), keeps an official tally of adverse reactions in its VAERS system, (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System). According to the most recent VAERS report which covers up to January 21, 2021, the CDC reports about 7000 cases of adverse reactions, 91 percent of them non-serious. Although deaths have occurred soon after vaccination, the CDC found there was no causal link, that other factors were involved.

But other professionals have looked at the VAERS data and European data and concluded otherwise. There is a difference of opinion here but, not surprisingly, government medical authorities of all western nations agree that the benefits outweigh the risks. Statistically, that position seems reasonable, but before we accept the official interpretation of the data we need to look carefully at 1) the data itself and 2) at the new science of the vaccine.

The Morality of Genetic Engineering

Aside from the red flags regarding safety, the basic question we all should be asking is, what are the ethics of genetic engineering? As created beings ourselves, are we divinely authorized to re-engineer the genetic codes, the building blocks of life?

Earth, our biosphere, is a network of symbiotic interdependencies. The world’s best biologists acknowledge that they are nowhere near fully understanding the mechanisms of the most simplest organisms. If that’s the case, how can we alter any of them safely?

But assuming we could, should we? According to scripture and to Ellen White amalgamating different life forms by the antediluvians was the one sin that was most offensive to God and that brought on the flood.

“But if there was one sin above another which called for the destruction of the race by the flood, it was the base crime of amalgamation of man and beast which defaced the image of God, and caused confusion everywhere.” (Ellen White, Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 1, page 69.1).

Gen 6:11 – The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Gen 6:12 – And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

Gen 6:7 – And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Obviously, GM vaccines do not amalgamate man and beast. But the same technology, gene editing, is being used today to cross species. And crossing humans with animals has begun. We’re repeating the history of the pre-flood generation.

The term “gene editing” is a misnomer. It gives the impression the editor knows exactly what he is doing as he cuts and splices. This is far from true. Even the antediluvians, with their powerful minds, had limited success. Dinosaurs, the creations of their evil genius, which are glamorized today in popular culture, are actually quite hideous. These unfortunate creatures were, according to Ellen White, part of the “corrupted flesh” that scripture speaks of that God destroyed, the bulk of them appearing to be crosses between reptiles with birds and reptiles with mammals.

Skeptics will claim that we don’t have evidence in the fossil record of human-animal hybrids and that the true explanation for dinosaurs is evolution. Until recently there was no way of verifying the diabolical meddling by these men of giant intellect in the genome. But now that we’re able to map the DNA of all organisms, with the discovery of rapidly frozen pre-flood species in Siberia – some frozen while grazing with food still in their mouths – we may soon have confirmation that dinosaurs are, in fact, hybridizations and we shouldn’t be surprised if we learn that some that contain human DNA.

GMO Seed

While GM vaccines are new and we have no long term data, the results of GMO agriculture have been with us for several decades. Today we’re reaping a harvest from humanly re-engineered seed, the majority of it being Monsanto’s (now Bayer’s) Roundup tolerant, patented strains. Notice what GMO seed is able to do – to survive a dousing of glyphosate, the chemical that “roundsup,” that is, destroys all normal vegetation. If a GMO food is able to survive being doused in glyphosate, how well is it being handled in your GI tract when your bowel is required to process two foreign substances at once – the GMO food itself and the Roundup residue that it survived?

Unlike the USA, most European countries such as France, Germany, Austria, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark and Italy have placed a total ban on GMO agriculture. And unlike the USA, the EU requires labeling of all GMO foods that are imported for sale.

GMO foods don’t directly modify our DNA. Our GI tract does an amazing job handling foreign substances such as GMO foods. Still, there is abundant and strong evidence of serious long term health consequences from GMO foods and a huge ecological and environmental toll.

Regarding health, the consequences are too numerous to list. (For more information see Jeffery Smith’s books Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of Our Lives.) Smith’s characterization of GMO seed as deceptive is more accurate than he realizes. It is what the scripture calls “pharmakeia”, a science that claims to benefit humanity by increasing the food supply but has the opposite effect in destroying the environment and compromising human and animal health. The only beneficiaries of GMO foods are the owners of the multinational corporations who scripture forewarns will ultimately, at the end, run the world. It is no coincidence that Bayer, owner of Roundup, one of the largest of these, is a pharmaceutical company.

Because Roundup kills all vegetable life forms, it not only destroys weeds and normal crops, it also destroys the microbes in the soil, lowering the nutritional content of our food. The crises we’re seeing in bee decline and fish, bird and animal die offs may be related to pollen from GMO crops which, in concert with Roundup, is taking a toll on bees and other species on up the food chain.

The growing sterility of America’s farmland from the use of Roundup has also reduced the soil’s ability to absorb and retain water making it more drought susceptible, a heightened concern now when much of the Midwest is gripped by drought.

Yet the American media is largely in denial of the current GMO health and environmental disaster. Instead, it is distracted by climate change.  Such a failure in good journalism is grounded in willful blindness, evolutionary thinking, lawlessness, and greed; its source is a mindset that denies the Creator’s authorship of life and the genetic codes; and, it operates from the delusion that man can improve himself by altering the DNA of his seed, of the animal kingdom and even of himself.

The data that has accumulated since the ‘80’s shows GMO seeds and GMO foods are man-made disasters, not improvements. But what about GM vaccines?  While it’s true that in the short term they have been more effective than the average flu shot, the science behind them is equally flawed. Like GMO seed, they confer a temporary benefit but at what price?  No one knows exactly – not yet.

In the meantime, consider this: Whereas GMO foods are partially detoxified by digestion, GM vaccines are directly introduced to the body, the temple of God, at the cellular level. Fortunately, at this point the approved GM vaccines do not work directly in the cell’s nucleus where DNA is housed and where it replicates. But dozens of laboratories around the world are currently working on vaccines that work inside the cell nucleus. It is only a matter of time before we’ll be confronted with another choice:  Accepting GM vaccines that work directly beside and/or with our DNA.

This science is part of the “pharmakeia”, man playing God. And America and the churches of the West are accepting and in most cases promoting it. With decades of prescription drug dependency under our belts we are culturally conditioned to prefer a pill or jab rather than making the required lifestyle changes.

The Final Plagues and Pandemics

A few days ago another first occurred in Florida. The US Environmental Protection Agency approved the release of GMO mosquitoes in the Florida Keys to control mosquitoes that carry diseases such as dengue, yellow fever and Zika.

Six small boxes containing GMO males were opened. Like the Covid-19 vaccines, this is an incremental step. It’s partially, let’s say, opening a Pandora’s box. True, it is not the opening of the bottomless pit of Revelation 9, but it is a step along the road towards an all-out human assault on nature. One of the by-products of that assault will be a new breed of locusts that will torment humanity.

Rev 9:1 – And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.

Rev 9:2 – He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.

Rev 9:3 – Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth.

Rev 9:4 – They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

Rev 9:5 – They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone.

Rev 9:6 – And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.

Rev 9:7 – In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces,

Rev 9:8 – their hair like women’s hair, and their teeth like lions’ teeth;

Rev 9:9 – they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle.

Rev 9:10 – They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails.

Rev 9:11 – They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.

Admittedly, the above passage uses some symbolism so it’s not possible to know precisely where the symbolism ends and the literal begins. For example, the locusts of this scene could describe an exchange of nuclear missiles and their stings could depict the agony of radiation poisoning from nuclear war. On the other hand I would not rule out that these creatures are literal GMO locusts. Where a prophecy reasonably bears a literal interpretation that is the preferred one. In any case, I reckon that we’ll find out soon enough.

The First of the Seven Plagues

The prophecy of Revelation’s dreaded seven last plagues begins with one that gives us a clue to the problems facing humanity at that time – a compromised immune system. It says:

Rev 16:2 – So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

The words used to describe these sores indicate that the skin of the victims and their bodies have lost their natural ability to fight infection and heal.  These are like the sores of Job, ulcerous and unhealing.  The same gruesome condition is pictured in Zechariah:

Zec 14:12 – And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; [that is, those who will fight against God’s people, spiritual Israel.] Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. . .

Zec 14:15 – And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.

That this prophecy applies to the end-time is clear from what follows:

Zec 14:17 – And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. [That is, those who will not give heed to the gospel and repent will be excluded from the latter rain.]

Zec 14:18 – And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.  [This harvest feast is a symbol of the final gospel harvest.]

Zec 14:20 – In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the bowls before the altar. [All the material blessings of God will be willingly dedicated to proclaiming the gospel.]

Zec 14:21 – Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts. [The atonement of Christ for the church will be complete.]

God is the author of the laws of nature. As the law-giver He is not bound by them, but He normally works His will through them. In the case of the first plague, humanity reaps the consequences of natural law. Those who are plagued with unhealing sores have not only compromised their spiritual health, they will have also compromised their physical health. By their own choices they have driven God from His temple, their bodies.

We’re told in Revelation 18 that a corrupt pharmakeia will be one of the primary means of seducing humanity to make those choices. One indicator of where the dividing line lies between good and bad medicine is that good medicine will cooperate with the divine laws that govern our physical nature, while bad medicine will offer a deceptive short-cut.

Pharmakeia of the bad variety presumes to edit the DNA of any and all life forms and to have the power to create new ones. Its mind-numbing drugs promise to remove anxiety by physically altering the chemistry of the brain through narcotics rather than through the peace and comfort of the Holy Spirit. Its hypertensive drugs mask chronic conditions, temporarily reducing the risks of stroke and heart attack but undermining health in other ways that also shorten life. These latter medications have their place as emergency measures but they are abused when the underlying issues are not addressed and the lifestyle is not reformed.

The sorcerers of ancient Egypt who replicated the serpent of Aaron and other life forms, appeared at first to succeed. But before long it became clear that the power of the magicians was a deception. Like the antideluvians, those who meddle in things that are beyond them will demonstrate more and more clearly that their technology only corrupts the works of God. Although they would like to sit in the temple of God, including the human body, showing themselves to be gods, by their very presumption and infidelity, God will be vindicated as the only Creator, the only Life-giver.

Rev 18:21 – Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and will be found no more;

Rev 18:23 – and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery (pharmakeia).
