This situation summarizes the ecumenical movement for the last sixty years. We are the subordinates, and Rome is the master. In the ecumenical movement, Seventh-day Adventists are increasingly serving as the personal assistants to Roman Catholic clergy. Has God called our pastors to do Rome’s bidding and serve as their second-in-command? Is it acceptable for Adventists to be ruled and controlled by Roman Catholics? What a humiliating situation!
On November 22, 2021, Roman Catholic Monsignor Dr. Hansjörg Günther of the Archdiocese of Berlin was appointed the new Chairman of the Berlin-Brandenburg Ecumenical Council. The council also elected Seventh-day Adventist Pastor Dietmar Päschel to serve as the chairman’s deputy. Pastor Dietmar Päschel is head of the Convention of Adventist Churches in Berlin and is currently Chairman of the Ecumenical Working Group of Free Churches in Berlin-Brandenburg. [1] [2]
The Berlin-Brandenburg Ecumenical Council is made up of Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans, Mennonites, Lutherans, Methodists, Seventh-day Adventists, Nazarenes and about 25 other member religions. The purpose of the Berlin-Brandenburg Ecumenical Council is to “exchange ideas about the diversity of our beliefs and traditions and promote our common spirituality.” [3] This ecumenical council also engages in interfaith dialogue by organizing “soccer games” between Christian pastors and Muslim Imams. [3]
Organizing interfaith soccer matches? Promoting a “common spirituality” among Sunday-keeping churches? Subjugating our pastors to the will of Catholic masters? Have we completely lost our minds? Have we abandoned our divine mission to bring the world to Christ and His gospel in the context of the Three Angels’ Messages? This was the only reason why God raised up Seventh-day Adventists in this solemn time of earth’s history. There is no greater noble or sacred task than this.
“Shall any man sell our peculiar characteristics as God’s chosen people for any advantage the world has to give? Shall the favor of those who transgress the law of God be looked upon as of great value? Shall those whom the Lord has named His people suppose that there is any power higher than the great I AM? Shall we endeavor to blot out the distinguishing points of faith that have made us Seventh-day Adventists?” (Evangelism, p. 121).
How do we call people out of Babylon while our leading pastors are under the control of Babylonian leaders and do their bidding? How do we warn people about the beast and its image if we’ve joined forces with them? For centuries, the Roman Catholic Church has been appealing to the Orthodox churches and the Protestant churches that broke away to return to the “mother church.” Recently, Pope Francis has pleaded more urgently for a united universal church in his encyclical Fratelli Tutti.
Now we see the modern ecumenical movement taking gigantic steps towards the reunion of all the churches. The modern ecumenical movement is bringing the churches together under Rome into a single body. Bible prophecy reveals that this union will be critical in healing the deadly wound and enforcing the mark of the beast when the churches unite to impose Rome’s will.
The servant of the Lord speaks with certainty about the truths of the law of God, the seventh-day Sabbath, the Three Angels’ Messages, and the mark of the beast as being the “true light” for this time. She warns against obstructing the progress of these truths by joining the world’s “confederacy,” supposing that doing so will help God’s cause. In other words, she accurately identified today’s situation and warned us that such ecumenical entanglements “displease God.” Truly, we have a prophet in Israel whose counsel is being disregarded:
“The light we have received upon the third angel’s message is the true light. The mark of the beast is exactly what it has been proclaimed to be … There is to be no change in the general features of our work. It is to stand as clear and distinct as prophecy has made it. We are to enter into no confederacy with the world, supposing that by so doing we could accomplish more. If any stand in the way, to hinder the advancement of the work in the lines that God has appointed, they will displease God. No line of truth that has made the Seventh-day Adventist people what they are is to be weakened. We have the old landmarks of truth, experience, and duty, and we are to stand firmly in defense of our principles, in full view of the world” (Testimonies, Vol. 6, p. 17).

Boy, EGW was right when she said that some of our brightest lights will go out!!! I love the smug look on that priest face. I bet he is laughing about us all the way to the vatican. I am not so upset with these bright lights going out as I am in it making it so much harder for us to witness to a dying world. What do we say to people when our “leaders” are apostatizing at an alarming rate!!!
The only hope I have is that the truth will go through to the end. It has to! The Lord is going to have a very small remnant to take back with him to heaven. So very sad. He entrusted the Israelites to carry his truth and message and they failed miserably. We are following in their footsteps…….

The leaven of godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land. But more especially will their prayers arise in behalf of the church, because its members are doing after the manner of the world. {CET 186.4}
The earnest prayers of this faithful few will not be in vain. When the Lord comes forth as an avenger, He will also come as a protector of all those who have preserved the faith in its purity, and kept themselves unspotted from the world. It is at this time that God has promised to avenge His own elect which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them. {CET 187.1}
The day of God’s vengeance is just upon us. The seal of God will be placed upon the foreheads of those only who sigh and cry for the abominations done in the land. Those who link in sympathy with the world are eating and drinking with the drunken, and will surely be destroyed with the workers of iniquity. “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry;” but “the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” Psalm 34:15, 16. {CET 187.2}
The class who do not feel grieved over their own spiritual declension, nor mourn over the sins of others, will be left without the seal of God. The Lord commissions His messengers, the men with slaughtering weapons in their hands: “Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.” {5T 211.1}

Aloha from the Island of Maui, SMK!
Although I am not a “Seventh Day Adventist” and have never been, and since I have been aware of the pillars of “Seventh Day Adventism”(going on 5 years now) and am in full agreement with the Spirit of Prophecy and the Word of God, I never felt, from the Lord, the inspiration to be a “Seventh Day Adventist.”
As I began to investigate the well documented history of the Seventh Day Adventist Movement, the apostasy that was revealed help me to understand why the Lord kept me where I am, and led me to His Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones, which He showed me, was the Fruit, of the flower, which is the Seventh Day Adventist/2nd Advent Movement (not church),
planted approximately 2000 years ago!
Although, there has been, and are still many, living stones, in that “Church religious system”
(as Seventh Day Adventist consider themselves, the antitypical Elijah/John the Baptist), the Lord has showed me that the Last Generation of the Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones ( the Fruit to be harvested) are the antitypical “body of Christ” at the “End of the Time of the End!”
And what is being shown to me by the wonderful work that Pastor Andy and some other ministries are doing at this time, has, I believe, supported what the Lord has revealed to me!
The Lord made it very clear to Peter and the rest of the disciples that HE would build HIS “Ecclesia”(Not church!) and that the gates of hell would never prevail against it!
And so it is! Amen!
Your brother in Christ,
Maka’ala Stone

I can understand the concern here, however I believe you need to read widely what Ellen White says about reaching out to other pastors. Here are just a few comments from her. Some of us are like ostriches, sticking our heads in the sand and others are like the Pharisaical Sabbath keepers who believed they were the only ones going to heaven. There will be far more Catholics, Lutherans and members of other denominations who sincerely loved Jesus than those in the holy huddle who think they are the only ones who are going to heaven. Here are some quotes from the Spirit of Prophecy about how we should get close to ministers of other denominations. If we are off in our holy huddle, never associating with ministers of other faiths because we have the “truth” or we assume they are all going to hell, how do we ever expect to be used by God to reach them”
Draw Near to Ministers of Other Faiths—Our ministers should seek to come near to the ministers of other denominations. Pray for and with these men, for whom Christ is interceding. A solemn responsibility is theirs. As Christ’s messengers, we should manifest a deep, earnest interest in these shepherds of the flock.—Testimonies For The Church 6:78 (1900).
Importance of Working for Other Ministers—The wisest, firmest labor should be given to those ministers who are not of our faith. There are many who know no better than to be misled by ministers of other churches. Let faithful, God-fearing, earnest workers, their life hid with Christ in God, pray and work for honest ministers who have been educated to misinterpret the Word of Life.
Our ministers are to make it their special work to labor for ministers. They are not to get into controversy with them, but, with their Bible in their hand, urge them to study the Word. If this is done, there are many ministers now preaching error, who will preach the truth for this time.—Letter 72, 1899.
Why Should They Be Neglected?—Much has been lost by our people through following such narrow plans that the more intelligent, better-educated classes are not reached. Too often the work has been so conducted as to impress unbelievers that it is of very little consequence—some stray offshoot of religious enthusiasm, entirely beneath their notice. Much has been lost for want of wise methods of labor. Every effort should be made to give character and dignity to the work.
It requires much wisdom to reach ministers and men of influence. But why should they be neglected as they have been by our people? These men are responsible to God just in proportion to the talents entrusted to them. Where much is given, much will be required. Should there not be deeper study and much more prayer for wisdom, that we may learn how to reach these classes? Should not wisdom and tact be used to gain these souls, who, if truly converted, will be polished instruments in the hands of God to reach others? … If we can win to Christ and the truth souls to whom God has entrusted large capabilities, our influence will, through them, be constantly extending, and will become a far-reaching power for good.

You are mixing apples with oranges. There’s a world of difference between praying and working with people who aren’t of our faith and participating in interfaith collaboration that aims to end church divisions and bring everyone together in one body (Fratelli Tutti). There is a distinction to be made between conversing with people not of our faith and singing Roman Catholic mass hymns in Latin during interfaith worship. There is a distinction to be made between mingling with non-believers and enrolling in Roman Catholic theological institutions to be indoctrinated by them. There is a distinction between studying God’s word with others and uniting the churches to blindly repeat the ecumenical movement’s strange pantheistic errors. Don’t confuse what God says with what is being done today. Or else we have to acknowledge that both God and Elijah were wrong for not trying to seek common ground with the worshipers of Baal: http://adventmessenger.org/did-elijah-engage-in-interfaith-worship-with-baal-25-questions-we-must-answer/

ADVENTISTS ARE TO BE SALT, NOT PEPPER. SALT MINGLES – AND IS NOT STAND OFFISH AS THIS ARTICLE SUGGESTS ADVENTISTS SHOULD BE
God has a work to be done which the workers have not yet fully comprehended. Ministers and the world’s wise men are to be tested by the light of present truth. The third angel’s message is to be set before them judiciously, in its true dignity. There must be most earnest seeking of God, most thorough study; for the mental powers will be taxed to the utmost in laying plans which will place the work of God on a more elevated platform. That is where it should always have stood, but men’s narrow ideas and restricted plans have limited and lowered it.—The Review and Herald, November 25, 1890. YES, MEN’S NARROW IDEAS HAVE ALWAYS IMPEDED THE WORK OF GOD
Pray for and with ministers of other denominations—Our ministers should seek to come near to the ministers of other denominations. Pray for and with these men, for whom Christ is interceding. A solemn responsibility is theirs. As Christ’s messengers, we should manifest a deep, earnest interest in these shepherds of the flock.—Testimonies for the Church 6:78.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME SELF RIGHTEOUS ADVENTISTS MET AND PRAYED WITH AND FOR NON ADVENTIST PASTORS? What kind of interest should be have toward these shepherds of the flock?
Ministers of other denominations, if truly converted to our message, will be polished instruments in the hands of God—Much has been lost by our people through the following such narrow plans that the most intelligent, better-educated classes are not reached. Too often the work has been so conducted as to impress unbelievers that it is of very little consequence,—some stray off-shoot of religious enthusiasm, entirely beneath their notice. Much has been lost for want of wise methods of labor. Every effort should be made to give character and dignity to the work. It requires much wisdom to reach ministers and men of influence. Should there not be deeper study and much more prayer for wisdom, that we may learn how to reach these classes? Should not wisdom and tact be used to gain these souls, who, if truly converted, will be polished instruments in the hands of God to reach others?—
SO WHEN DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD START FOLLOWING THIS COUNSEL AND QUIT NEGLECTING MINISTERS OF OTHER CHURCHES? WHEN DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD LOOK AT THEM AS PEOPLE WHO ARE SEEKING TRUTH BUT DON’T HAVE THE SAME LIGHT THAT WE DO ABOUT THE SABBATH AND MARK OF THE BEAST? When will we realize that some of these ministers are more dedicated and represent Christ better than some of us do. I tell you, brothers if we believe we are the only ones going to heaven we need to be converted.
Not All Will Accept Truth—After the most earnest efforts have been made to bring the truth before those whom God has entrusted with large responsibilities, be not discouraged if they reject the truth. They did the same in the days of Christ. Be sure to keep up the dignity of the work by well-ordered plans and a godly conversation. Do not think you have elevated the standard too high.—Letter 12, 1887.
Speaking in Other Churches—You may have opportunity to speak in other churches. In improving these opportunities, remember the words of the Saviour, “Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” Do not arouse the malignity of the enemy by making denunciatory speeches. Thus you will close doors against the entrance of truth. Clear-cut messages are to be borne. But guard against arousing antagonism. There are many souls to be saved. Restrain all harsh expressions. In word and deed be wise unto salvation, representing Christ to all with whom you come in contact. Let all see that your feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace and good will to men. Wonderful are the results we shall see if we enter into the work imbued with the Spirit of Christ. Help will come in our necessity if we carry the work forward in righteousness, mercy, and love. Truth will triumph, and bear away the victory.—Manuscript 6, 1902.
