Microsoft News (MSN) has begun to promote what it calls “Sunday Health Reset,” encouraging people to see Sunday as more than just another weekend day. In an article published on September 21, 2025, MSN designates Sunday as a unique opportunity to reset the body, mind, and spirit through rest and healthful exercises. It is a deliberate effort to single out Sunday for a special role in people’s lives and to establish this day as a long-term solution for reset and renewal.
MSN describes the “Sunday Health Reset” in the following terms, yet we recognize that such efforts are ultimately aimed at elevating Sunday as society’s designated day of rest.
• “Weekends are made for pauses. For pausing work, pausing the notifications, pausing the constant ‘what’s next?’ mindset. Over the past few weekends, I’ve been trying something simple: Turning Sunday into more than a rest day.” [1]
• “So today, I want to decode why weekend walks deserve a starring role in your Sunday Health Reset.” [1]
• “Set a modest goal: If you’re currently doing almost no walking, aim for 5,000 to 6,000 steps on Sundays.” [1]
• “Time it right after meals: Post-lunch walks – or after Sunday breakfast.” [1]
•, “From what I’ve experienced and what the science shows walking regularly can do the following: More energy through the week. On Sundays, walking feels like charging your battery.” [1]
• “If you treat Sunday as more than just a rest day, but also a reset day, weekend walks can become an anchor habit, one that quietly changes your baseline health.” [1]
• “So, this Sunday, lace up, step out, and just walk. Not because you have to, but because your body, brain, and spirit will thank you for this Sunday Health Reset.” [1]
While it is certainly true that walking, exercise, and rest bring tremendous health benefits, these benefits are not tied to Sunday. One can just as easily recharge the body and mind on the day that God commanded us to rest—the Lord’s true Sabbath day—Saturday. Even though the MSN article mentions “science,” there is no scientific evidence or data that says Sunday produces the best health results. Their claim that Sunday is more closely linked to rest and health has nothing to do with science and more to do with conditioning our culture to embrace Sunday.
This is no accident. By promoting Sunday as a weekly “reset” day, media outlets like Microsoft News are reinforcing the idea that Sunday should serve as society’s default day of rest. The goal is to ingrain the Sunday rest narrative into the minds of the people until it is ultimately embraced as the official day for rest, wellness, and even spiritual renewal. While some may see this phenomenon as harmless, those familiar with Bible prophecy recognize where this is headed. Revelation 13 describes a time when church and state will unite to enforce a counterfeit day of worship, and the gradual elevation of Sunday—through health, business, media, religious, and political agendas—sets the stage for this final crisis.
“When the decree shall go forth enforcing the counterfeit sabbath, and the loud cry of the third angel shall warn men against the worship of the beast and his image, the line will be clearly drawn between the false and the true. Then those who still continue in transgression will receive the mark of the beast” (Evangelism, p. 2340).
