The Greg Gutfeld Show, a nationally aired Fox News program known for its blend of conservative commentary, political discussion, and comedy, featured a revealing exchange on its January 12, 2026, broadcast. During the program, guest Terry Schappert remarked, “I would like to make the United States a Catholic monarchy. It’s not going to happen, I get it—but we can install Marco as the Catholic monarch of Cuba.” Host Greg Gutfeld responded approvingly, “That’s a great experiment.” When another panelist was asked for his opinion, he replied, “Sure, why not? We can try it,” prompting laughter from the panel and the audience.
Although the exchange was presented with laughter, the comments reflect a growing comfort in mainstream media with openly discussing ideas about a resurgence of medieval Catholic dominance, when monarchs ruled under the influence and authority of the Pope. Comedy is being used as a tool to make the idea of religious power exerting control over political authority seem less serious and less threatening. By presenting these concepts through humor, public resistance is reduced, and the union of church and state becomes more acceptable and less alarming.
What is no laughing matter is the fact that Papal supremacy is being actively promoted here in the United States.According to prophecy, this nation will form an image of the beast—a system that resembles the structure and authority of a Roman Catholic–style religious monarchy. Papal influence is advancing not only through official decrees or Vatican diplomacy but also through the media, entertainment, political commentary, and even comedy. These platforms help normalize ideas that once would have been openly rejected and are preparing the public for a renewed union of church and state.
Andy Roman you’re really not going to relent until you see Satan impersonate Pope Francis are you? You haven’t even bothered to ask any questions and that’s going to be on your head. Satan will soon manifest himself as the eighth king of revelation chapter 17 who “goeth into perdition“
An early writings, Mrs. White said a stately fair person will be impersonated by Satan appearing as an angel of light. He does not appear as Jesus until after the close of probation According to the great controversy.
Hi, can you give the exact quote from EW where she says a fair person will be impersonated by Satan? Thanks
And let it be remembered, it is the boast of Rome that she never changes. The principles of Gregory VII and Innocent III are still the principles of the Roman Catholic Church. And had she but the power, she would put them in practice with as much vigor now as in past centuries. Protestants little know what they are doing when they propose to accept the aid of Rome in the work of Sunday exaltation. While they are bent upon the accomplishment of their purpose, Rome is aiming to re-establish her power, to recover her lost supremacy. Let the principle once be established in the United States that the church may employ or control the power of the state; that religious observances may be enforced by secular laws; in short, that the authority of church and state is to dominate the conscience, and the triumph of Rome in this country is assured.
God’s word has given warning of the impending danger; let this be unheeded, and the Protestant world will learn what the purposes of Rome really are, only when it is too late to escape the snare. She is silently growing into power. Her doctrines are exerting their influence in legislative halls, in the churches, and in the hearts of men. She is piling up her lofty and massive structures in the secret recesses of which her former persecutions will be repeated. Stealthily and unsuspectedly she is strengthening her forces to further her own ends when the time shall come for her to strike. All that she desires is vantage ground, and this is already being given her. We shall soon see and shall feel what the purpose of the Roman element is. Whoever shall believe and obey the word of God will thereby incur reproach and persecution. Ellen G. White, ‘Great Controversy’ page 581.1 – 581.2
What a disturbing comment to make, as a supposed conservative voice of common sense and logic for the right. Joking or not, it shows total disdain for our Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and obvious intent of our founding fathers.
Concerning the eighth king of Revelation 17 –
Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
The beasts, mountains, and kings of the above prophecy are presented as interchangeable as in all the same entities, and are obviously therefore not in reference to an individual man or fallen angel impersonating Christ. We know from Holy Scripture that beasts, mountains, and kings do all symbolically represent kingdoms or nations existing in relation to and or antagonism toward the people of God on earth. All of the entities described exist in relation to the woman whom the beast carries, which the wise of history have understood to represent the Roman Church. It would be folly to think that when the antichrist comes, he will not also be involved with the woman who rides the beasts. Nevertheless, the eighth king is most obviously not an individual.
