On January 9, 2026, Seventh-day Adventists from around the world sent an open letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, calling for the complete termination of all formal relationships between the United Nations and the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, including its affiliated organizations such as ADRA and religious liberty associations. The petition urges that no new partnerships be established in the future.
At the heart of the petition is the claim that the General Conference has maintained consultative NGO status with the United Nations since 1985 without the informed consent of the church’s global membership. This relationship represents a fundamental departure from historic Seventh-day Adventist principles, particularly the church’s long-standing stance against alliances between religious institutions and political powers. This partnership compromises the church’s moral independence and prophetic identity because the philosophical and ideological foundations of the United Nations are incompatible with core biblical teachings and Seventh-day Adventist beliefs. Specific concerns are raised regarding issues such as creation, religious liberty, health, moral authority, and Sabbath observance.
In the petition, the authors specifically question the way the General Conference and its leadership handled the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination issue, arguing that official church statements during that time revealed a compromise with secular authorities and loss of religious liberty freedom. They state that during the pandemic, General Conference publications asserted that refusing mandated vaccines was inconsistent with Adventist beliefs and, in some instances, portrayed members who declined vaccination as murderers. The petitioners argue that this amounted to an improper violation of conscience and an overreach of church authority. They contend that the church’s support for oppressive mandates and its reluctance to champion religious exemptions demonstrated alignment with the United Nations’ and World Health Organization’s public health approach, rather than standing firmly for freedom of conscience as defined in Scripture.
Finally, the petition includes a growing list of signatories who publicly align themselves with the call for disassociation. By inviting others to sign, the document seeks to demonstrate that opposition to the UN relationship is not isolated but shared by Adventists who believe that faithfulness to Scripture and prophetic truth requires a decisive break from institutional partnerships with global political bodies.

It is sad when last day christians imagine that Jesus is coming for members of an organised denomination.
If Jesus defended the existence of the Jewish system then maybe that thought would hold water.
Jesus called individuals to be united to Him and in Him.
No amount of defending denominational beliefs will guarantee salvation.
Our salvation is not guaranteed in numbers or in “cleansing the Sda denomination”.It is guaranteed in Christ ALONE.
IT IS INDIVIDUAL and in Christ As A BODY.
“11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name..
…
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. ”
Revelation 14:11-12 KJV
“God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ’s church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church.” UL 315.5
“1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. ”
Matthew 24:1-2 KJV
I tried to sign my name to this letter but it failed for some reason. ??
The church alliance with the United Nations started a long time ago . Inorder to understand where the relations between the Seventh Day Adventist Church started with United Nations started way back in 1945, when the United Nations world House government was formed. I want to introduce two most notable figures who participated in the formation of this United Nations. They were prominent figures in the Seventh day Adventists and held important positions in the General conference they were notably – Dr. Jean Nuesbaumm ,Bert . Berverly Beach. These two men met the wife of U.S President Eleanor Roosevelt. Franklin Delano Roosevelt had just died after serving for three terms in the office. They discussed on how to form a religious liberty department for the Seventh Day Adventists. This is where the rain started beating the S.D.A Church. Dr. Jean Nuesbaumm was the President European division of the General conference of the world church. While Bert Berverly Beach served as the S.D.A church liason member in the Christian World Communions.
The department of religious liberty is meant to hoodwink the Adventists , but in the real sense it does not look or take care for S.D.A members interests in matters of religious worship. Remember the Covid -19 Vaccine mandates. The leaders of the General conference led by President Ted Wilson and Religious liberty director Ganoune Dioup failed to defend the members against the harrassment by the Government institutions. The General Conference leaders demanded that the S.D.A members should obey and adhere to the Government directives in regard to measures to curb the Covid -19 Pandemic. It’s note worthy to point that the United Nations is an institution serving the Papacy and the New World Order agenda ,therefore these General conference leaders cannot be trusted. All the Adventist institutions including Adventist Relief Development Agencies -ADRA support the Papacy’s agenda.
If the religious department advocates for the S.D.A freedom of religious liberty , then why did they deny the faithful members ,the Covid -19 vaccination mandates imposed to them by their respective governments. In short, the United Nations is a subsidiary to the Papacy and it;s implementation of it’s global agenda. Remember the coming New World Order , the whole world will be forced to conform on the false worship of the trinity and Sunworship which is the luciferian worship advocated by the papacy. So all the leaders who serve the General conference are members of the Jesuit order, and they implement the decisions endorsed by the Vatican. So, it’s no surprise in the near future during the nmark of the beast crisis, they will tell members to abandon the sabbath and worship on papal sabbath which is sunday .
Adventists should remember that Ellen White strongly rejected the unity of believers and unbelievers. She warned that the S.D.A church risked becoming Babylon if it joins the ecumenical unity based on false doctrines. WCC is the superstate church of the bible prophecy predicted in bible prophecy and all the churches have joined Rome in this unity based on compromising bible teachings and principals. She predicted that the unity of protestant churches and Roman church would result the imposition of religious restrictions. She wrote this in 1886, and yet the members of S.D.A church are still asleep when the leaders are misleading them to doom.
