The recent displays of American military strength demonstrating advanced technology and rapid deployment capability in Iran and Venezuela align with Revelation 13’s portrayal of the second beast as a power of unmatched global influence. What we are witnessing is Bible prophecy unfolding in real time before our eyes as the United States is fulfilling its biblical role as the world’s leading political and military superpower. This type of unparalleled visible military force and economic leverage foreshadows how our nation will one day use its global authority to force the world to worship the first beast during the final crisis.
In the book of Revelation 13:11–17, the Apostle John introduces a second beast that rises “out of the earth,” having “two horns like a lamb,” yet speaking “as a dragon.” A careful reading of the passage reveals that this power is not weak or merely regional—it emerges as a dominant, global force in the last days. “And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him” (Revelation 13:12).
The first beast (Revelation 13:1–10) is clearly portrayed as another dominant global power. It receives its authority from the dragon and commands the admiration and allegiance of “all the world” (Revelation 13:3). Its influence is so vast, its supremacy so intimidating, that the world asks with humility and submission:
“Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:4).
That question reveals something very important—not only about the first beast but about the second as well. Scripture says the second beast will exercise “all the power of the first beast.” In other words, it will possess the same level of invincibility—both on the battlefield and in the realm of political influence. The second beast of Revelation 13, which we understand to represent the United States, is therefore not portrayed as a minor or insignificant player on the world stage. On the contrary, prophecy presents it as a global superpower—one that wields extraordinary authority, shapes international policy, and exerts immense influence during the final crisis.
As its power consolidates and its ability to project influence across the nations increases, it will use that authority in a decisive way. According to Revelation 13, it will “cause the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast” (v. 12). This coercive act reaches its final fulfillment during the enforcement of a Sunday law—when America uses civil power to mandate religious observance and compel worldwide obedience.

The phrases “the earth” and “them which dwell therein” point to universal power and authority. The second beast is not depicted as influencing a single country or a limited region; its reach extends to the inhabitants of the whole earth. For the United States to exercise the kind of economic and political leverage described in Revelation 13, it must possess vast international reach and global prominence—enough to shape world opinion, influence policy, and guide the direction of nations. A weak or obscure nation could never fulfill such a role. Prophecy, therefore, envisions a power with unparalleled visibility and worldwide impact.
“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark” (Revelation 13:17).
This is perhaps the clearest evidence of global dominance: the ability to control buying and selling (Revelation 13:17). Such control reaches into international trade, financial systems, supply chains, and even access to critical resources like oil that sustain global transportation and commerce. Economic power on that scale is not local—it is worldwide.
To regulate who can participate in the global economy, this power must be supported by overwhelming political influence and formidable military strength. Today, we already witness the far-reaching influence of the United States across social classes, economic systems, and political ideologies—religious and secular alike. Revelation 13:16 describes enforcement that extends to “both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,” indicating total societal reach.
Far from being secondary in strength, the second beast of Revelation 13—identified as the United States—is portrayed as the most powerful political and military force on earth, a power that will ultimately help restore the first beast to its former temporal and spiritual glory. In the final prophetic crisis, America will use its religious, political, and economic authority to enforce allegiance to the first beast—Rome—reshaping the global order in fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
